Chapter 43 Wait for Two Minutes

"You?"

Liam stopped in his tracks and turned his head to give Heather a mocking sidelong glance.

"Have you even taken a look at yourself? Your eyes are blurry, and you can barely walk. No one would want your organs, even if you offered it to them! Let's go!"

Liam waved his hand, and four people escorted Ethan out of the hospital room. No matter how Ethan struggled, it was in vain.

"Oh, my unfortunate grandson!"

Heather shouted in despair, her face filled with hopelessness.

"Wait," a faint voice sounded.

"Hmm?"

Liam turned around and looked at Noah. He was the one who had just said 'wait'.

"I just said that my steak is very expensive, and you haven't paid for it. Are you planning on leaving?" Noah said nonchalantly, looking at Liam.

"Kid, if you hadn’t spoken up, I would have forgotten about you." Liam smirked cruelly. "You injured two of my guys. I said I might not leave you with two legs to walk on, so let's go!"

After Liam finished speaking, three or four thugs charged toward Noah, each wielding a metal rod.

One of them, who was brandishing a machete, went straight for Noah's arm!

"Noah! Run!" Heather yelled. Ethan was about to be taken away, and Heather didn't want to see Noah get hurt again.

But in the next moment, Heather's expression froze.

Before the four thugs could even get close, Noah had already leapt into action.

A muffled sound echoed continuously.

Noah's legs acted like projectiles, viciously colliding with the four men's stomachs.

The four thugs were sent flying without getting a chance to defend themselves, crashing into the wall.

"Cough... cough... ouch..."

"It hurts like hell..."

They held their stomachs, their faces twisted in pain as if their intestines had been severed.

"Not bad!"

Liam looked at the four men lying on the ground and his eyes lit up. He looked at Noah again.

"Kid, I'll give you $50,000 per month to be my bodyguard. You’ll have delicious food, fancy cars, and women!"

Liam extended an offer to Noah.

"I only want the money for my steak," Noah replied indifferently.

"How much is some steak worth? If you agree to be my bodyguard, I'll pay whatever you want!" Liam laughed.

Liam thought $50,000 a month was not a small sum for this young man.

"My steak is worth one million," Noah said casually.

"One million? What the fuck, kid! Are you messing with me?!" Liam's eyes widened, revealing a hint of cruelty.

"Thank goodness I brought more people today, otherwise, I would have really fallen into your hands! Call them!" When Liam finished speaking, one of his men immediately made a phone call.

They arrived within five minutes.

"Clear the place! Get the hell out of here!"

"Everyone, get out of my sight!"

Shouting came from the hallway. The entire hospital floor went into chaos. Patients, family members, and nurses hid, afraid to come out, looking fearfully at the scene outside.

Twenty or thirty thugs with dyed hair, carrying metal rods, steel pipes, and machetes, strode in aggressively, surrounding Noah's hospital room, leaving no room for escape.

"Liam, who pissed you off?" One of the thugs, who was holding a machete, approached him.

"Beat him to death!"

"He’ll have to leave on a stretcher!"

The thugs yelled in unison.

"This kid." Liam pointed at Noah.

"Get rid of him!"

All the thugs glared at Noah, gripping their weapons tightly. If Liam gave the command, they would attack.

The entire room resounded with a strong sense of hostility. Noah furrowed his brows as he looked at the gangsters. Dealing with ordinary people without specialized training was simple for him. However, Noah couldn't guarantee that Heather and Ethan wouldn’t get hurt when he took action.

Buzz buzz buzz...

Suddenly, Noah's phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number.

"Hello," Noah answered the call.

"He picked up?" The gangsters were all startled.

"Let him answer it. He can say some last words before he dies," Liam chuckled coldly.

"Noah, it's me, Lucas.

"Mason told me you're at the Royal Hospital. I've arrived, but I don't know which ward you're in. I'll bring the money to you."

"Room 502," Noah said.

"Hurry up and say your last words, kid! Don't waste my time!" Liam impatiently urged.

"Huh? Noah, are you in trouble?" Lucas heard the voice.

"It’s not too much trouble. Just a few gangsters. I can handle it," Noah said.

"Gangsters? I don't know them, but if it doesn't involve well-known figures or influential elites in Eagleland, I'm confident I can help you. Even if it does, I can call Mason to help smooth things over," Lucas said, laughing.

Noah glanced at Liam. Liam was just a guy who ran a casino in the slums, while Lucas was one of his men. One was in the sky, and the other was underground.

"The guy's name is Liam," Noah said.

"Liam? That name sounds familiar. Wait a moment, I'm getting on the elevator now. I'll be in your ward in two minutes. Tell Liam to wait a bit," Lucas said.

"Alright."

After hanging up, Noah said to Liam, "The person on the phone asked you to wait for him for two minutes."

"Wait for two minutes?" Liam was taken aback. "So, you actually have someone backing you up? Alright, I'll wait for two minutes to see who this scum behind you is!"

Noah couldn't be bothered to talk. No one was backing him up, but if he had to say it was someone, it would probably be his father, Larry. Mason was not his backer; in fact, Noah was Mason's backer. However, situations like this were better left to Mason’s people.

Two minutes later, a tall man in a suit walked over. As he walked, his neck tattoo faintly revealed itself. He held a suitcase in each hand.

It was Lucas.

"Are you alright, Noah?" As soon as he approached, Lucas expressed concern and inquired about Noah's well-being.

"No problem." Noah shook his head, dismissing the situation. Even if a fight were to break out, Noah wouldn't pay any attention to it.

Only then did Lucas nod with relief. If anything happened to Noah, he wouldn't be able to explain himself to Mason.

"So you're this kid's backup?"

Liam looked at Lucas. He didn’t recognize him, and disdainfully said, "Who the hell are you? You’re acting all tough in front of me and you even making me wait for two minutes. Looks like you have a death wish."

Lucas remained unfazed. Having spent years by Mason's side, he had learned to control his emotions and keep a calm demeanor.

"Your name is Liam?" Lucas asked.

"Heh, how dare you call Liam by his name. You're asking for trouble!" A small thug behind Liam viciously declared.

Lucas showed a contemplative expression, as if he was pondering something, before calmly asking, "Do you know Aiden?"

"Aiden is my bro!" Liam puffed out his chest proudly. "I didn’t think you would actually know Aiden. Heh, I’m Aiden's right-hand man. Even if you know him, it won't save you!"

Lucas didn't respond further. Instead, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number, speaking in a low tone. "Aiden, you have twenty minutes to get to room 502 in the Royal Hospital.

"If you're late, be prepared to disappear from this world! I'll find someone to take over your business!"
