Chapter 399 The Third Thing
Cameron shuddered at the thought, suddenly feeling a sense of impending doom.
He and Noah had already clashed at the Radiant Pearl Hotel, which meant they had offended the wealthy Bodhi.
'What about my Celestial Peak Real Estate Company...' Cameron's face turned pale, and sweat began to trickle down his forehead.
"That's right!" Larry suddenly realized that Noah was associated with the wealthy Bodhi. Clearly, the important person Daryl mentioned was Bodhi, not Noah. Noah was just a representative. So why was I so shocked?
As Noah and Daryl arrived, everyone took their seats. At the dinner table, people raised their glasses to Noah, occasionally mentioning Bodhi, trying to find out if Bodhi had any interest in the Silverlight City real estate market.
Noah understood their intentions but remained silent with a smile.
'Noah, who are you trying to impress? You're just Bodhi's lackey! Without Bodhi, would these real estate tycoons be so eager to please you?' Larry thought disdainfully, looking at Noah with contempt.
"Larry, everyone here has toasted Mr. Anderson. Why haven't you?" Ulysses suddenly fixed his gaze on Larry. Not toasting at the dinner table was very impolite, and since Larry was his man, Ulysses felt embarrassed.
"Mr. Jennings, I..." Larry hesitated. He was extremely reluctant to toast Noah, whom he considered a nobody.
"What do you mean 'I'? Hurry up and toast!" Ulysses frowned. Larry was usually quite savvy, so why was he so slow to react now?
"If you anger Mr. Anderson, you can forget about that project you're working on. I'll give it to someone else!" Ulysses said coldly.
"I'll toast!" Larry quickly said, filling his glass. He stood up, hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and said, "Mr. Anderson, I toast to you!" He downed his drink in one gulp and sat back down.
Noah glanced at Larry but didn't touch his glass, making Larry's face turn red with embarrassment.
'Noah! Just wait, one day I'll have you under my foot!' Larry clenched his fists, feeling deeply humiliated.
"Everyone, I have two things to announce," Daryl suddenly spoke up.
"Mr. Fields, please go ahead!"
"Yes, if there's any trouble, we're here to help!"
The real estate tycoons, including Ulysses, smiled broadly. It was now clear that Daryl had connections with the wealthy Bodhi, which elevated Daryl's status in their eyes. Naturally, they wanted to help him.
Cameron, however, felt a sense of foreboding.
"First, I plan to enter the Silverlight City real estate market with a $150 billion loan from the bank to expand the industry," Daryl said with a smile. "I welcome all of you to join me in sharing the profits of this booming market."
Hearing this, Ulysses and the others were stunned, their eyes lighting up. They couldn't help but discuss it among themselves.
"$150 billion! That's more than all our combined liquid assets!"
"And the best part is, he's sharing the profits with us! We can all get rich together!"
"Mr. Fields is so generous!"
"Such boldness!"
"At this rate, Mr. Fields might soon become the leader of the Silverlight City real estate market!"
Everyone looked at Daryl with admiration and excitement.
"Second," Daryl's smile faded, "my esteemed Mr. Anderson wants to open an Evergreen Market branch in Silverlight City but has encountered some obstacles. I believe you all know about it."
Daryl looked around the room.
"Evergreen Market!" Ulysses and the others' faces changed. They knew about Evergreen Market because Cameron had asked them to block its entry into their properties just yesterday.
It was a small favor that earned them Cameron's gratitude, so they had readily agreed.
But they hadn't realized that Evergreen Market was backed by Noah!
Now their faces turned grim. This was a problem. Helping Cameron had inadvertently offended Daryl's important person.
If they angered Daryl, they could forget about sharing in the $150 billion real estate profits.
"Mr. Fields, I know about Evergreen Market. I made a mistake yesterday," Ulysses quickly admitted. "After this dinner, I'll order my properties to allow Evergreen Market to open branches, and I'll even waive the rent for two years!"
Hearing this, the other tycoons quickly followed suit.
"Mr. Fields, I'll do the same after dinner!"
"As for the rent, Evergreen Market can use the space for free indefinitely!"
"Consider it a gift from me to Mr. Fields and Mr. Anderson!"
Cameron's face turned white. He hadn't expected everyone to switch sides so quickly and agree to let Evergreen Market open.
"That's more like it." Daryl nodded in satisfaction. These people were smart. Without the promise of profits, they wouldn't have been so decisive.
"Mr. Anderson, are you satisfied?" Daryl turned to Noah.
"There's a third matter," Noah said calmly, looking at Cameron. Cameron shuddered again, feeling that sense of impending doom.
"Mr. Anderson, whatever it is, just say the word! Your business is our business!" Ulysses said, patting his chest.
"Yes, if it's within our power, we'll do it!"
"Just say it!"
The real estate tycoons smiled, eager to please Noah and secure a share of the future profits.
"I want Celestial Peak Real Estate Company to disappear from Silverlight City forever, starting today," Noah said firmly.
The room fell silent. Everyone turned to look at Cameron. Celestial Peak Real Estate Company was his business.
"Did Cameron offend Mr. Anderson without realizing it?"
"He must have, or Mr. Anderson wouldn't say such a thing!"
The attendees, all shrewd businessmen, quickly weighed the pros and cons. Cameron's back was drenched in sweat, and his legs trembled under the table.
"Cameron, from now on, The Jennings Real Estate Company will terminate all cooperation with your company," Ulysses said decisively after a moment's thought.
