Chapter 165 Taking it Back
Robert carefully put the rare metal back into the box and explained to everyone, "I graduated from Bear Country's Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a medical degree. I know a lot about rare metals. This thing can treat cancer!"
Robert continued, "And this substance can not only be used to treat cancer, but it can also be applied in other industries such as coal, weapons, and energy. In terms of price, it's around two billion dollars per gram, and even if you have the money, you can't buy it!"
"In summary, this metal is rare, expensive, and versatile. Just the quantity I have in my hand is worth ten billion dollars. But if it’s used in the medical industry to treat cancer patients, it can create a value of hundreds of billions, even trillions!"
After finishing his explanation, Robert took a deep look at Noah, and at this moment, his gaze became even more respectful.
It was hard for him to imagine that Noah could possess such a precious thing. It wasn't something that could be bought just with money!
But Noah had obtained it and had even generously given it away as a birthday present. Just how terrifying was Noah's background?
As they listened to Robert's explanation, the whole room fell into silence.
After a while, gasps of astonishment filled the air one after another.
"Is this really a rare metal?"
"Can that small piece be worth ten billion dollars?"
"Is it real or fake?"
"How could it be fake? Didn't you hear what Robert said?"
"Robert is a medical doctor. There’s no way he would misidentify it?"
People started discussing, and the expressions of Zack, Kyle, Richard, Joshua, and the others became incredibly ugly.
They all focused their gaze on Noah, their expressions complicated.
"Just who is this guy? He gave the Benson family a gift worth ten billion dollars?"
"The total value of all the gifts here probably doesn't even amount to a fraction of this rare metal!"
Lily's cherry-like mouth opened in shock, her eyes wide.
"Ten billion?"
She never expected that Noah would give her such a valuable gift.
The 50,000 yuan she had given Noah was nothing compared to ten billion.
At this moment, Kyle spoke up. "Robert, are you sure this is a rare metal?"
"Of course I'm sure," Robert said.
Kyle nodded. He had heard of rare metals, but he hadn't seen one before, so he couldn't identify it. He also couldn't have imagined that Noah, that insignificant guy, would give him such an important gift.
But Kyle understood very well how precious this metal was. It had many applications in the military industry.
This substance could serve as a neutron initiator for nuclear reactors in nuclear power plants.
If he sold it, it would bring him tremendous profits.
'This is quite a large piece, probably around four or five grams, but it can create a value of hundreds of billions, even trillions for me!'
Kyle looked at the metal inside the small box, a greedy gleam flashing in his eyes.
He smiled at Noah immediately and said, "You're really generous, Noah! Thank you on behalf of my daughter for giving her such a valuable gift."
"The gift is for Lily, not for you," Noah said calmly, fully aware of Kyle's intentions.
Kyle's face instantly became awkward, and he quickly changed the subject, saying to everyone, "Welcome to my daughter's birthday party, everyone. Let's go downstairs and have dinner!"
Everyone went down to the hall.
"Noah, wait a moment," Lily called out to Noah.
Noah stayed in the room.
"haha, can you really come up with ten billion dollars, you useless coward?" Joshua turned around and glanced at Noah, his eyes filled with contempt.
"If you can, when pigs fly! haha, I bet Lily gave you ten billion dollars to buy that gift!
"And Noah, you pathetic waste, you're already married to Lisa but you’re still fooling around. If Lisa finds out about this, I wonder what will happen to you!"
After saying that, Joshua took out his phone and took a picture of the room before heading downstairs.
Inside the room.
"Noah, this gift is too valuable, I can't accept it," Lily pushed the small box toward Noah.
"It’s for you, are you sure you don't want it?" Noah asked.
"No!"
Lily shook her head, "This gift is too valuable, how can I accept it? And I asked you to give me a gift to deal with my pursuers. Now that you’ve done that, you can take the gift back!"
Noah nodded without saying much and put away the rare metal.
He and Lily were only in an employer-employee relationship, so there was no need to please her by giving such an expensive gift.
Two hours later, the birthday party ended.
Lily walked Noah out of the Royal Garden before returning to the house.
Kyle was already standing with his hands behind his back, waiting.
"So Noah left?" Kyle asked.
"He left," Lily nodded.
"Lily, that rare metal is worth ten billion dollars. Did you give him the money to buy it and give it to you?" Kyle asked.
"Dad, I might be the daughter of the richest man, but I don't have ten billion dollars ready to use. How could I give the money to Noah?" Lily was speechless.
Kyle thought about it and realized that his question was foolish. Of course he knew how much money his own daughter had in her bank account.
But he still found it hard to believe that Noah, that little nobody, could come up with so much money.
And rare metals were something that money couldn't buy.
"Well, where is the rare metal? It's a valuable thing, and I want you to keep it for me."
Kyle spoke again, "If we use that well, we can even improve the strength of the Benson family several times over, from a small family in the East Sea, to a prestigious presence high above everyone else!"
"I gave the rare metal to Noah," Lily said.
"What, you gave it to that loser?!" Kyle's expression changed, anger burning in his eyes. "That rare metal was extremely valuable and was a gift from that loser to you! Since it's a gift, why did you give it back to him?"
"Dad, please respect him, he is Noah, not a loser," Lily frowned, coldly saying, "And it was such a valuable gift, it’s worth ten billion, how could I accept it? Besides, I never intended to receive a gift from him, I just wanted him to help me put on a show!
"Since Noah gave me that gift today, the birthday party was so peaceful. No annoying pursuers bothered me! I achieved my goal!"
"Humph, a show? Since he gave you the gift, there was no reason to take it back!"
Kyle sneered, "If anyone finds out about this, the Benson Family will be embarrassed. When did Noah leave?"
"He just left, about ten minutes ago," Lily answered, her complexion changing, as if she remembered something.
"What are you going to do, Dad?"
"What am I going to do? Naturally, I’ll take back what belongs to the Benson family!" Kyle's gaze was firm. "Since it was a gift, there is no reason for me to return it!"
"Dad, you’re being shameless."
Lily's expression turned completely ugly.
