Chapter 173 Looking for Samuel
Lisa's face turned pale. "Mom, Dad, where is my husband?"
"Noah, that useless guy?"
Daniel rolled his eyes. "He’s already been taken away by Kyle! It's better that he's been taken away. After all, that useless guy tried to climb the social ladder and even hooked up with Kyle's daughter! Wasn’t he just asking for trouble? Since he's been taken away, he'll be lucky if they leave him with a whole body!"
"Once Noah is gone, this villa will be ours!" Zoe smiled with joy. With Noah gone, the villa naturally belonged to Lisa. And what belonged to Lisa, of course, belonged to her since she was her mother.
"Yes, without Noah, I can finally live peacefully at Summit Retreat Oasis." Zoe nodded.
"And when that happens, I’ll throw away all of Noah's things! Consider him nonexistent!" Daniel added.
"Mom, Dad, why are you saying that at a time like this?” Lisa was furious. “Aren’t you worried about Noah’s safety?”
At the mention of this, tears welled up in Lisa's eyes. She was worried, but she also felt powerless. Kyle, the one who had taken Noah away, had great influence. Even if they called the police, Lisa doubted it would be of any use.
"Worried?" Daniel chuckled. "I couldn't care less about that useless guy. I hope he dies as soon as possible!"
"Yes, once he dies, this villa will be ours!" Zoe also laughed heartily.
"You..." Lisa gritted her teeth in anger. She couldn't just sit and wait for her husband's fate. She had to find a way to save him.
Kyle had great influence in Oceanbridge City, so reporting this to the police would not help rescue Noah. Lisa needed the help of people in high positions to have a chance of saving him.
People in high positions... Lisa kept thinking, trying to remember whom she knew.
The first person that came to her mind was Mason.
When Noah moved, Mason had given him a thousand-year-old Buddhist bead as a gift. His status must be extraordinary.
But Lisa didn't have his contact information. How could she find Mason?
'Think, think,' Lisa's eyes darted around. Then, she thought of someone else.
Her immediate boss, Samuel, the CEO of Noah Capital, one of the top twenty investment firms in the world. Samuel's status was definitely higher than Kyle's. If she could get his help, maybe they could save Noah.
'But I’ve never met Samuel before, and even if I do, will he agree to help with this personal matter?' Lisa pondered.
Lisa was feeling anxious and uneasy as she thought about asking the company's CEO for help. She wondered if he would even bother with her request, considering how busy he was with his daily affairs.
'I can’t wait any more, desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm going to see Samuel right now!'
Determined, Lisa gritted her teeth and left the room. 'If he refuses, I will kneel down and beg him! After all, Samuel holds the highest position among all the people I know!'
With this in mind, Lisa promptly drove to Fortune Plaza, the headquarters of Noah Capital.
She walked directly to the front desk, hesitating for a moment before speaking firmly, "I... I'm looking for Samuel."
"May I have your name, Ma'am?" the receptionist asked, looking at Lisa.
"Lisa."
"Lisa..."
The receptionist opened a stack of files and skimmed through them. After a moment, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but there is no appointment for a Lisa among Samuel's scheduled meetings today. Samuel is very busy, and it's impossible to see him without an appointment."
"I'm the head of the Poverty District Renovation Project, and I'm also associated with Noah Capital. Can't I just have a brief meeting with Samuel?"
Lisa was desperate. Samuel was her last hope to save Noah.
"I'm sorry, but it's not possible." The receptionist shook her head. "You need an appointment to see Samuel. While the Poverty District Renovation Project is significant in Oceanbridge City, it's just a small project compared to all of Noah Capital. If we let everyone see Samuel without an appointment, there would be a long line every day."
Upon hearing this, tears welled up in Lisa's eyes. "Please, I beg you, just let me see Samuel. My husband's life is in danger, and only Samuel can save him. Please! If it's not possible, at least make a phone call to inform Samuel!"
Lisa's face was filled with pleading.
The receptionist's heart softened a little. "Alright, I'll make a phone call to inform Samuel. But if he refuses to see you, please leave immediately."
"Okay, okay, thank you, thank you!" Lisa's eyes brightened.
The receptionist picked up the phone and dialed Samuel's office number.
"I said, don't disturb me for the next six hours. I'm very busy!" A deep and slightly angry voice came through as soon as the call connected.
The receptionist trembled in fear and quickly explained, "I'm sorry, Samuel, but a woman named Lisa is here to see you. She says she's the head of the Poverty District and her husband's life is in danger."
"What? Lisa?"
The voice became instantly shocked. "Quick, let her up, no, I'll go down personally to meet her!"
"Hmm!" The receptionist hung up the phone with a surprised look on her face. She couldn't believe that Samuel had agreed to meet Lisa, and was even coming down personally.
Within five minutes, a middle-aged man hurriedly walked over. He was dressed in a suit, had a deep gaze, and was wearing a silk suit. It was Samuel!
"Samuel!" The receptionist quickly called out.
Lisa looked at Samuel. It was her first time meeting her immediate boss. Her position as the head of the impoverished area didn't hold much weight in front of Samuel.
"Hello, Samuel!" Lisa immediately lowered her head and nervously greeted him.
"Lisa... Oh no, no need to be formal. I heard that your husband is in danger?" Samuel spoke, a hint of concern in his eyes.
If Noah was in danger, Samuel would feel guilty.
"Yes!" Lisa nodded, not expecting Samuel to be so easy to talk to. "My husband's name is Noah, Kyle took him. I don't know whether he's alive or dead. I don't know any influential people, so I had to come to you for help."
"Alright, I understand." Samuel nodded, his face completely dark.
'Kyle, you dared to kidnap Noah? You don't seem to know the meaning of death!'
"Samuel, please, you have to help me!" Lisa cried, her eyes filled with pleading.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine." Samuel reassured her and added, "Lisa, go to the lounge and get some rest. When you wake up, your husband will be by your side."
The receptionist immediately led Lisa to the lounge.
"Hey, Mason, Noah has been kidnapped and his life may be in danger." Samuel took out his phone and dialed Mason's number.
"What? Kidnapped? In danger?" an angry voice filled with murderous intent said on the other end of the phone.
"Someone doesn't know their place. They dared to kidnap Noah?"
Samuel trembled as he felt the killing intent and said, "It was Kyle."
"I know, I'll gather people and go to Kyle's place to rescue Noah right away!"
