Chapter 239 Evergreen Market in Hand

"This guy is named Mr. Anderson? Mr. Anderson..." Isaiah's eyes widened, "Wait, this Mr. Anderson... could it be Noah?"

She quickly shook her head. She knew Noah had money, but pulling out two hundred million dollars just like that? It seemed impossible.

"Isaiah, let's not get into this now. We need to get to the courthouse," Timothy said.

Isaiah nodded and followed him out.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the courthouse. A staff member led them to an office. "Mr. Timothy, the buyer of your supermarket, Mr. Anderson, is inside along with some government officials to help with the transfer."

Timothy said briefly, "Alright, thanks."

Isaiah nodded and pushed the door open.

Inside the office stood a young man and a staff member wearing glasses.

"Noah!" Isaiah's eyes widened in disbelief, she hadn't expected Noah to be there.

"Long time no see," Noah said with a slight smile.

Isaiah's mind raced as she pieced it together. Her jaw dropped.

"You... you bought our supermarket?" Isaiah's voice trembled.

"Yep, I did," Noah nodded, not hiding it.

"You jerk! You tricked me!" Isaiah's eyes filled with anger as she lunged at Noah, her hands clawing at the air. "I thought you wanted to invest in us, but you just wanted to buy out our supermarket! You're such a jerk!"

Before she could reach Noah, the staff member stepped in to stop her. "Ma'am, please calm down."Isaiah couldn't get close to Noah.

Noah clasped his hands behind his back and smiled, "I never intended to invest. My plan was to buy your supermarket outright. Two hundred million dollars was a steal for me!"

"You! Noah, you're shameless!" Isaiah gritted her teeth in anger. Her family's supermarket was worth at least five hundred million dollars, but Noah had bought it for just two hundred million.

Her heart ached at the thought.

"Ma'am, please calm down," the staff member said, holding Isaiah back. "This is a courthouse, not a place for you to cause trouble."

"Isaiah, calm down. It's a done deal. There's no point in making a scene now," Timothy advised.

Isaiah took a deep breath, trying to suppress her anger.

"Alright, let's proceed with the transfer," the staff member said once Isaiah had quieted down.

The transfer process went smoothly. After the two hundred million dollars was transferred, Timothy and Noah signed all the necessary contracts and agreements.

Half an hour later, Noah held a stack of contracts and the business license.

"Mr. Anderson, from now on, Evergreen Market is yours," Timothy said, shaking Noah's hand with a bitter expression. Evergreen Market had been his life's work.

He hadn't expected his gambling to lead the supermarket into a sale.

"Thank you, Mr. Timothy," Noah said, withdrawing his hand with a slight smile. He planned to replace the entire management team at Evergreen Market.

The current management had significant issues.

"I had no other choice," Timothy sighed, "Between the gambling debts and the money owed to suppliers, I was over a hundred million dollars in debt. If it hadn't been for the judicial auction, I'd be in jail. Now that the two hundred million dollars is in, I can finally relax a bit."

He turned to Noah. "Mr. Anderson, you've just taken over Evergreen Market. Everything's a mess. Without strong leadership, it'll take forever to get it back on track."

"What are you getting at?" Noah's eyes narrowed.

"Can I throw my hat in the ring for a position at Evergreen Market?" Timothy asked, "I've got tons of experience in the supermarket industry, and I've put my heart and soul into Evergreen Market. I know every nook and cranny of its operations and have connections with all the suppliers in Oceanbridge City. If you let me keep managing Evergreen Market, I promise that with enough funds, I can turn it around in three months."

Noah didn't respond right away. He thought for a moment before speaking, "Timothy, as the former head of Evergreen Market, you are indeed the most suitable candidate to continue managing it. But the reason for Evergreen Market's downfall was your gambling. If I put you in charge and you relapse, misusing funds, what then?"

Timothy's initial excitement faded as he heard Noah's words.

Indeed, he was a gambler. How could anyone trust him with such a large supermarket?

"Mr. Anderson, I've quit gambling," Timothy pleaded. He wanted to stay at Evergreen Market because he knew the industry well and could earn a decent profit.

But Noah's direct refusal left Timothy feeling dejected.

"Letting you manage Evergreen Market isn't out of the question, but there are conditions," Noah said, stroking his chin.

"What conditions, Mr. Anderson? Just name them!" Timothy's eyes lit up.

"First, you'll only be responsible for the supermarket's operations. The financial management will be handled by someone else, and you won't have access to any funds. Second, you won't receive a salary, only an annual bonus based on the profits you generate. Third, you must set development goals for the next three months. If you fail to meet any of them, I'll fire you," Noah laid out his conditions. "That's all my conditions."

The first condition was to prevent Timothy from relapsing into gambling and misappropriating funds, the second was to see if Timothy had the ability to manage Evergreen Market effectively.

If he was talented, Noah would keep him. If not, he would be let go without any financial loss since there was no salary involved.

Timothy's eyes flashed with surprise. He hadn't expected Noah, despite his young age, to be so thorough in his considerations.

If Timothy was not a real expert in this field, he might not even earn a salary.

"Alright! I agree!" Timothy said, gritting his teeth but with confidence in his eyes. He had plenty of experience in the supermarket industry.

As long as he stayed away from gambling, he was confident he could meet Noah's conditions.

"Good. Add me on Facebook, and send me your three-month plan. If you can make me satisfied, I'll hand over the management of Evergreen Market to you. Of course, I'll still handle the financial side," Noah said.

"Deal," Timothy nodded and added Noah on Facebook.

Isaiah watched silently. She knew that continuing to work at Evergreen Market was the best option for her father.

After chatting for a while, Noah headed home.

Upon arriving home, he first contacted the financial manager at Facebook Live to see if they had anyone available to manage Evergreen Market's finances.
