Chapter 102 He Didn't Throw the Cat, Right?

Not long after, Zoey showed up with a ton of food. She saw Bella lying on the bed and immediately started tearing up. "Mrs. Windsor, why do you put yourself through this?"

Zoey went on, "I don't even know what to say about Mr. Windsor. But he does care about you. Last night, when he heard you were in the hospital, he rushed out without even getting dressed properly and stayed here all night. Mr. Windsor still cares about you. If you just softened up a bit, you wouldn't have to go through all this."

Zoey kept talking for a while. Then she sighed and said, "Mr. Windsor has a good personality. I've watched him grow up, and he gets along with everyone. Why is he so stubborn only with you? Are you two meant to be or not? You always seem to clash whenever you meet. When will you ever get along for a day?"

As Zoey spoke, she laid out all the food.

Bella listened to Zoey's long speech. Why did the Sterling Zoey described seem so different from the Sterling she knew? He appeared to be a good person in front of others, but why did he seem like a demon from hell in front of her, making her feel terrified?

Bella didn't want to hear Zoey talk about Sterling anymore, so she interrupted Zoey and changed the subject. "Zoey, it was raining so hard last night. Is anyone taking care of Sunny? Did Sterling throw my Sunny out?"

Zoey thought for a moment. "Probably not."

Bella felt uneasy and urged Zoey to call the house staff to check on Sunny and see if Sterling had thrown it out.

The phone rang for a long time before it was finally answered. Zoey eagerly asked, "Is Sunny at home?"

Bella, feeling anxious, grabbed the phone and asked, "Did Sterling throw my Sunny out? Go and look for it quickly."

On the other end, Sterling coldly replied, "Don't worry, I didn't."

Hearing Sterling's voice, Bella and Zoey were stunned for a few seconds. They looked at each other, not knowing what to say.

Finally, Zoey quickly hung up the phone and then smiled, "You see, Mr. Windsor still cares about you. Sunny is definitely fine. Don't worry, Mr. Windsor won't throw Sunny out."

Sterling looked at the hung-up phone, his eyes cold and his face not looking good. He searched the house but couldn't find the chubby, silly cat. Finally, he went outside to look. Losing patience, he got annoyed and told the guards to go find the cat.

When they finally found Sunny, Sterling was both angry and amused. The stupid cat had trapped itself in a mouse hole in the corner of the wall. Its chubby body was stuck, unable to move. After a night of stormy weather, it looked pitiful. Its blue eyes had lost their usual sparkle. Seeing someone approach, Sunny looked at Sterling pitifully.

Sterling snorted in anger and cursed, "Stupid cat." Then he told the guard, "Get this stupid cat out and clean it up."

The guard, hearing this, picked up Sunny who let out a faint meow, clearly uncomfortable.

Sterling glared at the guard. "Hold it properly, clean it up, and make it look like it did before. And don't let Bella know, got it?"

Hearing Sterling's orders, the guard gently cradled Sunny like it was his own kid and took it to the pet hospital.

When Anna woke up in the morning, she was startled to find Colin sitting by her bed.

But then she remembered seeing Colin before she fainted last night, so it kinda made sense. Still, why was Colin here? Did he stay all night?

Anna touched her forehead, which didn't feel as hot anymore. She knew she must've caught a fever from getting soaked in the rain yesterday.

Seeing Anna awake, Colin said, "Finally, you're up. If you didn't wake up soon, I was gonna have the doctor resuscitate you."

Anna knew Colin was just joking and said, "Colin, I just have a fever. I'm not dead, okay?"

Colin chuckled and replied, "Yeah, you know you have a fever. What happened yesterday? Why'd you end up in the hospital after getting drenched?"

Reminded by Colin, Anna immediately sat up in bed. "Right, how's Bella? Is she okay?" Anna said, trying to get out of bed to check on Bella.

Colin held her down and said, "Bella's fine. With Sterling there, why are you worried?"

Anna glared at him and said, "It's because Sterling is there that I'm worried."

Sterling was selfish and domineering. She didn't know if Sterling had listened to what she said last night.

Anna was really worried about Bella. Ignoring Colin's attempts to stop her, she prepared to go see Bella.

Colin picked Anna up and put her back on the bed, then assured her, "Anna, don't worry. I swear, Bella's really fine. The Windsor family's staff already brought her breakfast. She should've eaten and be resting now. You've worn yourself out. Are you hungry?"

Anna looked at Colin, not knowing what to say. But hearing that Bella was fine, she felt much more at ease.

Seeing that Anna was no longer insistent on seeing Bella, Colin raised an eyebrow and asked about her work. "Anna, I heard you made another mistake with some data at work yesterday. Your manager already reported it to me. What do you think?"

Talking about work made Anna feel an invisible pressure. She also remembered that Qiana had spent all her money yesterday. She felt utterly powerless.

Seeing Anna not respond, Colin lazily said, "Anna, you're not diligent at work. You're the first to leave every day. Your supervisor constantly find me and report your mistakes. What should I do?"

Colin looked at Anna on the bed with a half-smile.

Anna thought for a moment and decided to play the pity card. "Colin, I'm a patient right now. Do you think it's appropriate to talk about this now?"

Since Anna took that part-time job at the bar and Colin had tricked her, she hadn't had a good impression of him and was very impatient to see him.

Colin said, "Yeah, you're a patient now. Everything you say is right. But when you get better, what excuse will you use to fool me then?"

Anna could only say, "I fixed that document later, didn't I? Can you stop holding onto my mistakes?"

Anna knew it was her fault at work, so she couldn't argue with Colin.
