Chapter 19 Reunion with Her Good Friend
Bella felt Sterling's thin lips and his scorching body heat, which left her brain totally fried. But she snapped out of it quickly and shoved him away hard.
"What the hell do you want? Why can't you just leave me alone? Don't you think I'm gross?" Bella yelled, tears streaming down her face.
Sterling stopped and tilted his head, giving her a look.
"It was my dad who made you lose your parents and other family. Don't you think of them every time you see me? Every time I see you, I feel guilty for what my dad did! Why can't you just let me go? Let's just go our separate ways," Bella cried out to Sterling.
Sterling went quiet, his head dropping, his whole body shaking.
"Enough. I told you, you can't escape, and you won't. Don't forget what I said today." Sterling suddenly turned and walked towards the door.
Bella heard a car engine revving up outside the villa and figured Sterling had taken off.
Bella leaned on the table, crying softly, until Zoey came over and draped a blanket over her shoulders.
"Ms. Grey, I know you've been living with the pain of losing your loved ones, but Mr. Windsor has always thought of you as family too," Zoey sighed deeply.
Bella suddenly turned and hugged Zoey, crying her heart out.
Zoey just held Bella tight, like a mom, giving her a bit of that motherly warmth.
In the days that followed, Bella remembered Sterling's words, ate her meals, and got plenty of rest. Her health got a lot better.
Bella rested for over 20 days, but during that time, she didn't see Sterling at all.
She was cool with that; at least she didn't feel the pressure of having him around.
It wasn't until Bella's health got the green light from Owen that she could go back to school.
After not seeing Bella for over 20 days, Anna hugged her tight and started talking a mile a minute when she saw her.
"You have no idea how much I bitched about your heartless brother in the hospital that day, and Mr. Windsor totally agreed with me." Anna's first words left Bella stunned.
Bella finally got why Sterling was so pissed that day.
Bella helplessly held her forehead; she couldn't blame Anna for this because Anna meant well.
"Bella, you're so lucky. The school anniversary is coming up, and I heard Mr. Windsor will be there. I haven't seen him since that day at the hospital. If I could have a one-night stand with him, I'd be the happiest woman on earth!" Anna's blunt words made Bella roll her eyes.
Anna, annoyed, put her hands on her hips and glared at Bella. "What? You think I can't get him? Okay, sure, there are probably tons of women around him, and he might not notice me, but if I could just get one kiss from him, I'd be happy."
Bella suddenly thought of the day Sterling kissed her hard on the lips before leaving. It didn't seem that hard to get a kiss from Sterling.
At that moment, a bunch of girls' screams erupted outside the classroom.
"Mr. Windsor is here! Mr. Windsor actually came! Everyone, come out and see!"
Anna's eyes lit up instantly, and she grabbed Bella, wanting to run outside. "Bella. Let's go see Mr. Windsor together."
"I'd rather not. I want to stay in the classroom and read." Bella didn't want to go see Sterling with them; she'd had enough of him.
