Chapter 443 Truth Comes Out After Drinking

On the other end of the phone, Anna's voice was clearly drunk, tinged with reluctance: "Colin, where are you? I really want to see you right now, I want to tell you in person..."

Anna's voice was mixed with sobs, obviously somewhat out of control.

Hearing this, Colin's nerves instantly tensed up, and an ominous feeling washed over him: "You've been drinking? Didn't you say you were already back in Harborvale? Where exactly are you now? Tell me your exact location!"

Colin never expected Anna would call him to say these things. Right now, he felt like a fish stranded on the beach that had suddenly been thrown back into water - his whole being came alive.

But his tone still carried anxiety and reproach, though more than anything, it was worry for Anna's safety.

However, Anna didn't seem to fully hear what he said, or perhaps the alcohol made it impossible for her to respond rationally. She just continued pouring out her inner pain: "Do you know how much my heart hurt when I suggested breaking up, how reluctant I was? But what else could I do if we didn't break up? There's such a huge gap between us - whether it's family background or personality and values, we're like two parallel lines that will never meet. And you're always so unfaithful, always surrounded by all kinds of women. I really don't have confidence that I can keep your heart forever. I'm scared - scared that one day you'll suddenly get tired of me, find me annoying, and just leave me. What I'm even more scared of is that I can't give you anything or help you with anything. In front of you, I'm like a decoration, a burden, someone who only drags you down. I really feel like I'm not good enough for you, that I can't give you the happiness you want."

Listening to Anna's drunken words, Colin's heart grew heavier. Only now did he understand why Anna was so insistent on breaking up. He hadn't paid attention to her feelings, hadn't given her enough security, which made her anxious and lose confidence in their relationship.

"Anna, tell me where you are now, I'll come find you." Colin tried to make his voice sound gentler, attempting to soothe her restless heart.

But Anna just kept crying, rambling on incoherently. Beside her, Bella's somewhat helpless yet gentle voice could be heard: "Anna, stop talking, you've had too much to drink. Go to sleep, your body can't take this."

Bella's gentle voice tried to persuade her, attempting to calm her down so she could rest properly.

However, Anna's words were like beads from a broken string, unable to stop: "No, I don't want to sleep. I want to wait for Colin. He said he would come find me." Her tone carried a bit of stubbornness, as if in this moment, alcohol had become the only force she could rely on, giving her the courage to express her deepest desires.

Hearing this, Colin's heart jolted, and all his doubts instantly vanished. She didn't go back to Harborvale! She's at Bella's place!

A strong impulse surged through him. He couldn't wait any longer, nor could he let Anna endure this pain alone.

Colin stood up and quickly walked out. The hallway lights stretched his determined figure behind him, each step appearing so resolute and powerful. He had said that whenever she wanted to see him, he would go find her, even in the middle of the night, even at the ends of the earth.

When he knocked on Sterling's door, Colin barely noticed his own force. The urgent and forceful knocking sounded particularly jarring in the quiet night.

Sterling was startled awake by the sudden knocking. He opened the door groggily, his face showing clear displeasure and irritation.

But when he saw it was Colin, most of the hostility on his face dissipated, replaced by confusion: "It's so late, what's gotten into you?"

Colin almost without hesitation barged straight into Sterling's room, grabbed the keys, turned around and headed for the door, shouting to Sterling as he walked: "Let me borrow your car, it's urgent!"

Sterling was a bit stunned by this series of actions, and before he could ask Colin what he was doing.

Colin's figure had already disappeared outside the door. Having been up for most of the night, Sterling really didn't have the energy to ask more questions. He just shook his head helplessly.

Colin drove at full speed all the way to the residential complex. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his rapid breathing, then took out his phone and called Anna.

The phone rang for a long time before being answered, but it was Bella's slightly tired voice that answered.

"Bella, it's me, Colin. I'm at the entrance of your complex. Anna's at your place, right? I'm coming up right now, please open the door for me." Colin's voice carried urgency and determination. He knew he couldn't waste any more time.

Hearing this, Bella was slightly stunned, then responded: "Okay, wait a moment, I'll go open the door now." With that, he hung up the phone.

After hanging up, Colin quickly drove the car into the complex. The security guard at the entrance saw the luxury car he was driving, and a flash of surprise and envy crossed his eyes. In this complex, although some residents did drive luxury cars.

Someone as "extravagant" as Colin was truly rare. Therefore, the guard only asked a few token questions before letting him through directly.

Colin rushed upstairs in a hurry. The moment he pushed open the door, he saw Anna still curled up on the sofa, tears and alcohol mixed together. Her face looked particularly haggard, her crying intermittent, as if carrying endless sorrow and reluctance, as if wanting to pour out all the pain in her heart.

Bella sat beside her, looking helpless and exhausted, obviously worn out from dealing with her.

"I really don't know what to say about you two." Bella's voice carried a sense of powerlessness. He looked at Colin, his eyes revealing complex emotions.

"You heard Anna's phone call to you just now. The reasons she broke up with you are probably what she said."

Hearing this, Colin's heart was filled with mixed emotions. He slowly nodded, his gaze never leaving Anna's tear-stained face.

Colin took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, then carefully walked to her side, tentatively calling out softly: "Anna? I'm here, I'm right here."

Anna seemed to sense his presence. Her crying gradually stopped. She raised her head, her dazed eyes glistening with tears. She reached out her hand, trembling as she grabbed Colin's sleeve, her voice weak and choked with tears: "Colin, you really came?"

Colin gently held her hand: "Yes, I came. No matter what happens, I'll be by your side."
