Chapter 195 A $46,000 Outfit
Bella couldn't think much at the moment. The news of her pregnancy caught her off guard. She still didn't feel it was real. Was there really a little life growing inside her?
Bella sighed, "We'll talk about it later. Anyway, I've quit my job now, so I don't have to worry about not having time to take care of myself."
Anna thought Bella misunderstood and quickly explained, "That's not what I meant. I wasn't saying it would be a hassle to take care of you. Of course, I want you to stay with me every day. I'm just worried that Sterling will give you trouble later. He's arrogant and moody."
Bella looked at her still-flat belly, feeling a mix of emotions. She hadn't expected to be pregnant again so soon.
Was this God giving her back her first child? She had so many hopes and expectations for her first child but hadn't protected that child well. Was that child coming back to her now?
Thinking of this, Bella suddenly felt happy.
No matter what Sterling thought or how much hardship she would face, she was determined to give birth to this child safely. This was her family, someone connected to her by blood.
Bella thought that if Sterling liked this child, she wouldn't bring up divorce again. She would be willing to raise the child with Sterling.
Seeing Bella's fluctuating emotions, Anna knew what Bella was thinking.
She said, "Bella, we must ensure this child is born safely this time. Maybe your baby is coming back to find you."
Bella's eyes suddenly welled up with tears. "Yes, my baby must be coming back to find me."
Having made up her mind, Anna said, "Don't worry, I'll help you keep it from Sterling. But this can't be a long-term solution. If Sterling finds out, how do you plan to deal with him?"
Bella smiled and gently touched her belly. "You don't understand Sterling. He may hate me, but deep down, he's a very gentle person. He won't do anything to the child."
Anna nodded. "That's good. I was afraid he might take it out on the child. But after all, what happened last time wasn't your fault, and you've been at odds with him for almost two months. What is he thinking? I'll go ask Colin for some information."
Bella didn't stop her. She also wanted to know what Sterling was thinking now.
But no matter what Sterling thought, she was determined to give birth to this child. Even if she could never return to the Windsor Villa, she accepted it.
Before Anna could go to Colin, Qiana came back first.
Qiana threw her bag on the sofa and loudly demanded, "Anna, give me some more money."
When Anna and Bella came out, they saw Qiana sitting on the sofa, asking Anna for money with a sense of entitlement.
Anna's face turned cold. "I don't have any more money to give you. Didn't I give you my entire salary this month?"
Qiana nonchalantly smoothed her new hairstyle. "The money you gave me isn't enough. I bought a dress and got a beauty treatment, and it's all gone."
Anna was so angry her chest heaved. "When will you stop your extravagant spending? How many times have I told you not to buy those luxury items? You're not rich anymore. How many times do I have to say it for you to remember?"
Anna was exasperated. She felt Qiana was sent by God to torment her. Qiana was like a bottomless pit that could never be filled.
Qiana looked at Anna, then turned to Bella with a smile. "Bella, do you have any money? Can you lend me some?"
Anna immediately raised her voice. "Qiana, don't go too far. Bella is my friend. How can you say such things?"
Qiana retorted, "What's wrong with that? She lives in our house. Doesn't she eat and drink? Doesn't it cost money to take care of her?"
Anna was furious and embarrassed. She held back her temper and said, "Mom, Bella is pregnant now. Can you be a little more considerate?"
Qiana's eyes lit up. "What? Bella, you're pregnant? Well, if you're pregnant, Sterling should give you money, right?"
Anna, seeing that Qiana couldn't stop talking about money, was so frustrated that she couldn't communicate with her. She pulled Bella and said, "Let's go out."
Qiana blocked their way and said to Bella, "Bella, lend me some money so I can buy that dress I saw today."
Bella felt helpless and finally said, "Aunt Qiana, I've been troubling you by staying at your house. I'll buy that dress for you. Let's go together."
Qiana immediately brightened up. "That works too."
Anna was unhappy and said loudly to Bella, "Bella."
Bella patted Anna's hand, signaling her to stop. But Anna knew Qiana would only get worse.
If they gave in once, she would want more. They couldn't indulge Qiana's bad habits.
But Bella had no choice. After all, she was staying at Anna's house. It was only right to buy Qiana a gift.
"Anna, it's just a dress. I've been troubling you all this time. Consider it a gift for Aunt Qiana." Bella gave Anna a reassuring look.
"Bella, you're so sweet." Qiana immediately put on a different face.
Anna almost rolled her eyes at Qiana. Reluctantly, she was dragged out by Qiana.
When the three of them arrived at the mall, Bella was stunned.
Bella had thought the dress Qiana mentioned would cost at most a few thousand dollars. She didn't expect it to be $46,000. Anna turned to leave immediately.
Bella grabbed her. "Anna, let it go."
Anna frowned. "Let it go? Do you have the money? Does she deserve such an expensive dress? Don't indulge her."
Qiana was still wandering around, saying, "This one looks good, and so does this one. Bella, can you buy this one for me too?"
Anna didn't want to admit Qiana was her mother.
The truth was, Bella didn't have much money either. The money she had saved from working was almost gone over the past few months.
Bella remembered boasting to Micah that she didn't care about money. Now she had to eat her words.
Anna's face darkened. "Let's go. Don't bother with her. Only a crazy person would buy a $46,000 dress."
Bella laughed. "Anna, by that logic, you must have been crazy before. Which of your dresses cost less than $46,000?"
