Chapter 199 Who's Pregnant
The cafeteria was past dining hours, so it was relatively empty. Anna was relieved that no one was looking their way.
"What are you doing? Let go of me! Aren't you afraid of being seen? A CEO pulling and tugging with an employee in the cafeteria, does that make sense?"
Colin ignored Anna's words and dragged her all the way to the office.
He then threw her onto the sofa, leaned over her, and gripped her chin, his voice cold enough to make teeth chatter. "Anna, you'd better explain to me clearly, who is pregnant?"
Anna was frightened by Colin's demeanor and stammered, "Colin, what are you doing? So what if I'm pregnant? Is it against company policy to be pregnant?"
Colin pinned her on the sofa, pressing her hands above her head against the backrest. He knelt on one knee on the sofa, his face dark.
"Anna, I remember you don't have a boyfriend, right? How did you get pregnant? Are you a hermaphrodite?"
Anna was also angered by Colin's attitude. She struggled and said, "Colin, what are you doing? What does my pregnancy have to do with you?"
Colin knew he had no right to ask, but if he didn't get a clear answer today, he didn't know what he might do.
Colin gripped Anna's chin and said, "As your boss, isn't it reasonable for me to care about my employees' personal lives?"
Such a poor excuse would be obvious to anyone else, but Anna was a thick-skinned woman. Sometimes Colin really hated Anna's insensitivity, but he couldn't say it out loud.
Colin held back and said, "Did you forget what you promised in the office this morning? What, you don't want to return the necklace to your ex-boyfriend, or is this child your ex-boyfriend's?"
Anna was disgusted by Colin's insinuation and retorted angrily, "Who would have his child? Let go of me."
Anna struggled free from Colin's grip and said irritably, "I'm not pregnant, okay? Are you satisfied now? You're so annoying."
Colin was stunned for two seconds by Anna's words, then said, "Anna, who gave you the guts to lie to me?"
Anna snorted, "When did I lie to you? Besides, you assumed I was pregnant; I never said that."
Colin wanted to knock her on the head. "Didn't you just say in the cafeteria that you were pregnant?"
Anna held back and said, "Why do you care if I'm pregnant or not? What exactly do you want?"
Anna was so angry she got up to leave, but Colin grabbed her and asked with a stern face, "Who exactly is pregnant?"
Anna didn't want to tell Colin about Bella's pregnancy, or Sterling would find out too.
So she said, "A friend of mine, okay? A friend is pregnant, and I was picking out a gift for her. Is that alright?"
Colin squinted and said, "A friend? Which friend of yours don't I know about?"
Anna glared at him again, "What, you want to control who I make friends with too? I have plenty of friends."
"It's Bella? Bella is pregnant, right?" Colin bluntly exposed her.
Anna suddenly fell silent. Colin could guess; he didn't expect Bella to be pregnant again. It was obvious it was Sterling's child.
Colin said, "What's there to hide about Bella being pregnant? If Sterling knew, he'd be overjoyed. Are you planning to keep it from him?"
Anna said, "Don't tell Sterling yet. Bella doesn't want to tell him. Last time, she had a falling out with Sterling, and he hasn't given her an explanation. Bella probably still holds a grudge. Don't tell Sterling yet."
Colin snorted, "Fine, I won't say anything. But if Bella has an accident with Sterling's child, Sterling won't let you off. You're asking for trouble."
Anna retorted, "Asking for trouble? Sterling didn't believe the last child was his, did he? Now that Bella had that incident with Micah, what if Sterling doesn't believe Bella again?"
Colin flicked Anna's forehead and lightly scolded, "Don't talk nonsense. Sterling never doubted Bella and Micah. Don't wrong him. Besides, the misunderstanding has been cleared up. Sterling won't hold onto it anymore."
Anna's face lit up with joy, "Really? Then why hasn't he come to pick up Bella? He knows Bella is staying at my place. Why hasn't he come?"
Colin couldn't answer that. The illegitimate child was eyeing the Windsor Group covetously. Maybe keeping Bella somewhere else felt safer to Sterling than having her with him right now.
Sterling feared that person would know Bella was his weakness.
Although the Hughes family was behind the last incident, that person also played a part. So he didn't want to put Bella in danger again.
But Colin couldn't tell Anna the truth. It would only add to the danger and trouble.
Colin thought for a moment and said, "Don't worry. Let them handle their own affairs. Don't get involved."
Anna said angrily, "Do you think I want to get involved? Bella is my best friend. She's pregnant now. If she's in danger, I'll risk my life to confront Sterling."
Colin pressed her shoulder, turned her around, and pushed her to the door.
"Fine, no need to risk your life. If you want Bella to return to Sterling soon, don't tell her what we talked about today. Also, remember to arrange tomorrow night's dinner for me. Now, get back to work."
Colin opened the door and pushed Anna out.
Anna was confused as she was pushed out of the office. She wanted to say something to Colin, but seeing the office door closed, she gave up.
Anna didn't know what Colin and the others were planning, but as long as Bella wasn't harmed, everything was negotiable.
In the office.
Colin wanted to tell Sterling about Bella's pregnancy, but he picked up his phone, thought for a moment, and put it down.
If Sterling knew Bella was pregnant, he might change his plans. But the plan was already set and had to be carried out. It would be the same to tell him after it was over.
And since Bella didn't want to tell Sterling, he wouldn't do it either.
Colin thought about tomorrow night's dinner. It seemed he would confirm something with tomorrow night's actions.
He looked at Anna outside, wondering what would happen tomorrow night. 'Never mind, as long as Anna is under my watch, nothing will happen to her.'
