Chapter 124 Relationship Improves

Colin felt like he got the short end of the stick on this trip. He barely said a few words and got swindled out of 2 million bucks.

Colin thought he needed to have a serious talk with Anna about this. But when he saw her, he couldn't get a word out.

Colin and Anna stepped out of the elevator together, and Anna noticed Colin trailing behind her.

Anna turned around, puzzled, and asked, "Mr. Rivera, why are you following me?"

Colin replied, "Who's following you? I'm also going to see Sterling. Let's go together." Anna just nodded, "Alright."

They headed to The Windsor Villa together.

When Bella saw Anna, she excitedly hugged her, like a happy butterfly.

"I was just about to share this good news with you. Sterling let me go to work, so now I can happily go to work again."

Anna hugged Bella back, "No wonder you're so happy. But work can be really tiring."

But then she thought, 'Given Bella's position at Micah's company, Micah probably gives her easy tasks because of Sterling, making it unlikely to be tiring.'

Probably only Bella was in the dark, thinking she could gain great life value from it.

Sterling walked over with his hands in his pockets. Seeing Colin there, he raised an eyebrow and said, "The 2 million dollars wasn't enough of a lesson for you, and you're here to find more trouble?"

Anna and Bella exchanged a glance and asked together, "What 2 million dollars?"

Colin laughed and interrupted, "Sterling, what are you talking about? I wouldn't do that deal of yours for 2 million dollars."

As he spoke, Colin dragged Sterling into the study.

Bella and Anna were confused but didn't bother with them. Anna looked at Bella. "You seem to be in a really good mood lately. Is going to work making you this happy?"

Bella said, "Being able to go out and breathe the free air, of course, I'm happy."

Then Bella thought for a moment and said to Anna, "Actually, Sterling has promised me that he won't see Debra anymore."

Anna immediately asked, "Sterling actually promised you not to see Debra? Did they have a falling out? Or is he scheming something again?"

Anna worriedly said, "Don't believe him."

Bella shook her head and smiled, saying softly, "Anna, I know Sterling is a man of his word."

Seeing Bella's trust in Sterling, Anna didn't say anything more.

They were chatting in the glass conservatory when Nia suddenly barged in. Anna's face turned sour at the sight of Nia, and Nia's face mirrored hers.

Anna said irritably, "Bella, why is Nia still at your house? Doesn't she have a home?"

Nia was livid at Anna's words. She said, "Like attracts like, I suppose. Such a sharp tongue."

Nia's words offended both Bella and Anna.

Bella defended Anna, retorting, "Nia, didn't you tell me yesterday that you wanted to get along peacefully with me and wouldn't cause trouble anymore? Now apologize to my friend."

Nia jumped up, fuming, "Why should I apologize first? She insulted me first. You can't be so unfair!"

Anna shot back, "Am I wrong? You treated me like a servant the first time we met, acting all high and mighty!"

As Anna and Nia bickered, Bella started to get a headache. Later, when Zoey called them for dinner, Bella was surprised to see a small cake on the table.

Bella asked Zoey in surprise, "Did you get this cake for me?"

Zoey replied, not too happily, "I didn't buy it. It's from someone else to congratulate you on returning to work."

Nia, hearing this, snorted and turned her head away.

Bella smiled and said, "So it was you, Nia. What made you think of giving me a gift?"

Nia snorted again and said, "Don't read too much into it. Just had some extra cash to burn."

Bella smiled, having figured out Nia's personality by now—a tough exterior but a heart of gold. The previous unpleasantness with Nia seemed to melt away after this cake.

When Sterling and Colin came out, they found Bella, Anna, and Nia already sitting at the table eating. Sterling sneered, "No manners."

It was unclear whether he was referring to Bella or Nia. Anna snorted but kept quiet, as she never liked Sterling.

After dinner, it was already late, and Colin left with Anna.

Bella and Nia suddenly seemed to have a mutual appreciation for each other, which Sterling was quite pleased with, as he no longer had to listen to their daily arguments.

Sterling thought these warm moments would last a long time, but the next day, all the warmth vanished.

Before Bella got off work, Debra suddenly showed up, cornering her at the side door of the company.

Debra glared at Bella fiercely, "What tricks did you use to make Sterling stop seeing me? Bella, you are shameless. Do you think using these tricks will make Sterling love you? Do you think Sterling doesn't know about your tricks?"

Bella didn't want to argue with Debra and calmly said, "Debra, don't be so arrogant. What does it matter if Sterling loves me or not? I don't love him anyway. But I won't allow a woman like you around him. As Mrs. Windsor, I won't let a disgusting woman like you near my husband. You and your mother Mira are both revolting. Sterling no longer wishes to see you, and neither do I. Get lost."

Bella didn't know that Sterling, who had come to pick her up from work, heard everything she said.

Sterling stood around the corner, hearing Bella say, "What does it matter if he loves me? I don't love him anyway."

He immediately left.

Furious, Sterling got back into the car and said, "Go home."

Ryan asked him, "Mr. Windsor, what about Mrs. Windsor? Aren't we waiting for her?"

Sterling replied, "No need to wait for her."

Sensing Sterling's cold tone and the chill emanating from him, Ryan said nothing and drove away.
