Chapter 194 Pregnant Again
Colin yanked Micah down and said, "Alright, enough. I'm not like you."
Micah sneered, "Oh, really? What's so different?"
The atmosphere among the three seemed to lighten a bit, almost as if they had returned to the old days.
Sterling's slight annoyance seemed to dissipate in the evening's drinks.
Finally, Colin said, "Since the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and you don't mind anymore, when are you going to bring Bella back?"
At the mention of this topic, Sterling immediately dropped his smile. "She doesn't want to come back. I never asked her to move out."
Colin said, "You're so stubborn. I heard from Anna that even though you didn't explicitly kick Bella out, you tacitly agreed. Do you know how much that hurt her?"
Sterling frowned, "Bella was hurt?"
Colin almost rolled his eyes. "Of course she was hurt. You didn't ask her to stay. How could she not be hurt? Now she's living with Anna. Oh, and she quit her job. Did you know that?"
Micah responded instantly, "Bella didn't tell you? She quit on her first day back at work after being discharged from the hospital."
Sterling really didn't know about this. He had only asked Ryan to have someone keep an eye on Bella and protect her secretly.
The daily reports said that Bella either went shopping and dining with Anna or stayed at Anna's house.
He thought Bella was just resting and recuperating, not that she had quit her job.
Sterling immediately asked, "Did she say what she plans to do after quitting?"
Colin and Micah looked troubled. Colin said helplessly, "She's your wife. How would we know? If you want to know, bring her back and keep her by your side. Otherwise, you'll lose control over her sooner or later."
Sterling knew there were still some issues between him and Bella, but for Bella's safety, he preferred her to stay at Anna's house.
There were still many things he hadn't resolved. Since he was at this gathering tonight, he decided to delegate some tasks to Micah and Colin.
Sterling thought about quickly resolving these troubles and then bringing Bella back to his side. Until then, Bella would have to stay at Anna's house.
Sterling suddenly said, "I need you guys to do something for me."
Colin frowned and asked, "Is it about that foreign company? Didn't you already investigate it? I heard you're planning to shut it down. Is the loss significant?"
Micah also got serious, "Shut it down? Didn't you start that foreign company yourself? How did it get so bad that you have to close it? Is the situation abroad unsolvable?"
Sterling took a drink, the strong liquor unable to chase away his frustration.
"The foreign company was always unstable. Now it's been infiltrated and involved in drug trafficking, which is a matter of principle. So I have to shut it down early. That person is gradually shifting their focus domestically. So I need to close the foreign company and deal with the troubles they've caused here first."
Colin immediately became serious. "Are you talking about your dad's illegitimate son, your half-brother?"
Micah asked, "Have you found him?"
Sterling shook his head, "Not yet. So I need you guys to help me with something, to make the final confirmation."
Micah and Colin knew the situation was serious. If that illegitimate son came back to fight Sterling for the family assets, not only would Sterling not agree, but neither would they.
Bella had been feeling nauseous and tired every morning lately. She calculated her menstrual cycle and had a bad feeling.
She had been feeling unusually sleepy, a sensation she had experienced during her first pregnancy. This familiar feeling made her immediately alert.
So when Anna came home from work, Bella pulled her into the room.
"What? You want me to buy a pregnancy test? No way, Bella, are you pregnant?" Anna was shocked.
"Keep your voice down. I'm just suspicious. That's why I want you to buy it," Bella said, frowning.
"I'm in my pajamas. I don't want to go out. You go buy it," Bella said. She had been staying home in her pajamas since she quit her job.
Anna immediately said, "Okay, wait here. I'll go get it."
Anna put down her bag and rushed out the door.
While waiting for the pregnancy test, Bella thought of countless possibilities.
How could she be pregnant? She recalled the last time she had sex with Sterling, which was the night before the birthday party.
Anna soon returned with six pregnancy tests, leaving Bella speechless.
"I was afraid one might not be accurate, so you should test multiple times," Anna suggested.
Bella agreed and took the pregnancy tests into the bathroom, resigned.
Five minutes later, she came out with a bitter expression, and Anna knew it was true.
Bella stared at the results, unable to process them. A flood of emotions overwhelmed her—happiness, confusion, and helplessness.
She didn't know if this was the right time for the baby. Anna grabbed the test, eyes wide.
"So this means you're pregnant. It's my first time seeing a pregnancy test," Anna said, feeling a bit embarrassed for focusing on the wrong thing.
Anna pulled Bella to sit on the bed and asked seriously, "Who's the father?"
Bella glared at her. "Who else could it be?"
Bella was speechless. If the baby wasn't Sterling's, she might not live to see next year.
Anna scratched her head. "Sterling? How long have you been pregnant?"
Bella frowned and calculated. It seemed to be two months. She realized it had been that long since she left The Windsor Villa.
The baby was already two months old, and she didn't know what to do.
Anna looked at Bella seriously and asked, "Are you going to tell him? After all, he's the father, and you need someone to take care of you during the pregnancy. Should you consider moving back to The Windsor Villa?"
Bella thought for a moment and shook her head. "Let's not tell him for now. He said those things before, and he hasn't contacted me since. I don't know what he's thinking."
Anna was also angry at Sterling's attitude but worried. "If you don't tell him and he finds out later, there might be trouble."
