Chapter 420 Passionate Berry

Bella shook her head. "It's fine, you go ahead," she said, forcing a smile.

She picked up her phone again, staring at the photo on the screen. A surge of emotion welled up inside her. She wanted to know what Sterling really thought, if he still cared about her. But logic told her that pursuing this would only bring more pain.

The shop wasn't busy at the moment. Isadora noticed Bella had been sitting there for a while, her face looking a bit pale. The news had spread everywhere, making it hard to ignore.

Isadora quietly walked over and sat across from Bella. "Bella, you saw that trending topic, didn't you?" Isadora's voice was cautious. She knew Bella well; her calm exterior often hid a storm of emotions.

Bella nodded slightly, her fingers tracing circles on the table. She then turned off her phone screen, as if that could also turn off her troubled thoughts. "Yeah, I saw it. But I don't care."

Her voice was calm and indifferent, but beneath that calmness was a barely noticeable tremor.

Isadora frowned slightly, her eyes filled with understanding and sympathy. She knew how complex Bella's emotions were behind her facade of indifference. Bella's expression was like the calm before a storm, seemingly peaceful on the surface but turbulent underneath.

"Bella, you know, sometimes our emotions don't always show in our words and actions," Isadora said gently but firmly. "Your face tells me you're lying. You do care, don't you?"

Bella's lips curled into a bitter smile. She hadn't expected her facade to be so easily seen through by Isadora. "Maybe, but what does it matter? Our marriage has lost its meaning. We're just two strangers living under the same roof."

Isadora reached out and gently held Bella's hand, her touch warm and reassuring.

The afternoon sunlight streamed through the windows, adding a touch of warmth to the cozy dessert shop. However, this tranquility was soon disrupted by a sudden figure.

Serafina looked up to see a striking woman at the door—Sable. Her presence made Serafina's heart skip a beat, a sense of unease rising within her.

Serafina's first instinct was to keep her out, so she quickly approached, her voice tinged with a barely noticeable panic. "We're out of desserts! We have nothing left!"

Sable paused, then glanced towards the kitchen. The pastry chefs were busy making various delicious treats, and the customers were enjoying their food. Everything seemed normal. Sable frowned, feeling a surge of displeasure.

"Most of your desserts are made to order, and the shop is full of customers. How come you're out as soon as I arrive? Are you refusing to serve me?" Sable's voice carried a hint of suspicion and dissatisfaction. She looked at Serafina, her eyes sharp as if trying to see through her.

Serafina felt a bit guilty under Sable's gaze. Isadora quickly stepped in, taking over the conversation with ease.

Isadora smiled, her eyes showing a mix of experience and confidence. Claiming they were out of desserts could harm the shop's reputation.

She looked at Sable, her tone calm and friendly. "No worries, she just didn't know. What can I get you? We've got plenty of special desserts and drinks."

Sable smiled lightly and walked to the counter, her high heels clicking. "Two 'Passionate Berry' desserts and two coffees."

Isadora's professional smile remained, but her eyes showed a hint of difficulty. She sighed softly, trying to sound as gentle as possible. "I'm sorry, but 'Passionate Berry' is sold out. It's one of our specialties and very popular, but we're out for today."

Sable raised an eyebrow, not surprised by Isadora's response. She elegantly put down her magazine, a faint smile on her lips. "You can make it fresh. Even if it takes a while, I can wait. Mr. Windsor specifically wants this."

Isadora's smile stiffened. She hadn't expected Sable to be so insistent. She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Please wait a moment, I'll check with our owner."

She walked into the kitchen, where Bella was busy making other desserts. Isadora approached her and spoke softly. "Bella, Sable is here for 'Passionate Berry.' She said Mr. Windsor wants it. What should we do?"

Bella paused slightly, then looked up, her eyes showing a mix of emotions.

"Tell her we can make it, but it will take time. From now on, just take her orders," Bella said calmly and firmly, as if discussing something unrelated to her. She went back to her work, not wanting to say more.

Isadora nodded and returned to the front. She looked at Sable, trying to sound as natural as possible. "Sable, our owner said we can make 'Passionate Berry,' but it will take some time. Are you willing to wait?"

Sable smiled with satisfaction. "Of course. Thank you."

Bella focused on her work in the kitchen, seemingly unaffected by the outside commotion. When the dessert was ready, she had Serafina pack it up for Sable.

Sable paid and left without looking back, her posture exuding confidence and pride, as if she had just declared victory.

Sable's attitude made Serafina very upset. Even the usually gentle Serafina couldn't help but burst out. "That's just too much! She's so mean!"

Isadora sighed helplessly, watching Sable leave. She knew Sable's visit wasn't just about buying dessert; it was a show of defiance and provocation. Her husband might be indifferent, but at least he didn't deliberately cause trouble. She couldn't understand how Bella managed to stay calm.

Bella walked out of the kitchen, a serene smile on her face, as if the recent turmoil hadn't affected her at all. She looked at Isadora and Serafina, speaking softly. "Why are you upset? I'm not. It's fine."
