Chapter 93 Bella's Fury

Bella stormed out of the Windsor Group building, spotting Debra heading her way.

She tried to ignore her, but Debra quickly closed the distance and blocked her path. "So, I hear you got a cat and treat it like a kid. Bella, do you really think you can protect it?"

Debra's nasty smirk made Bella's blood boil.

"What are you getting at?" Bella snapped.

Debra shrugged, her smile cold. "Nothing much. Just noticed you've been a bit off since your kid died. Maybe see a doctor?"

Bella's hand shot up to slap her, but Debra caught it.

Bella's eyes were blazing. "You killed my child. How can you live with yourself? Have you no conscience?"

The sky was darkening, heavy clouds rolling in, making the air thick and hard to breathe.

Debra's face showed no remorse, just more malice and a mocking grin. "Is that my problem? You were carrying Sterling's kid. You had it coming."

A cold wind rustled the fallen leaves, sounding like low sobs.

This was the first time Bella had confronted Debra about the accident. She'd been too scared before, too heartbroken.

Bella was shaking with rage, stepping closer to Debra, her voice sharp. "You sped up on purpose and hit me. I saw it. You're a murderer!"

Debra didn't flinch, her voice rising. "What proof do you have? You think you can accuse me without evidence? And anyway, it was my driver who hit you."

Bella wanted to strangle her. "You're insane, Debra. Sterling's not stupid. He won't be fooled by you forever. You're jealous of me, fine, but why couldn't you spare my child? I never wanted to compete with you."

Debra crossed her arms, eyes full of disdain. "Jealous of you? Don't flatter yourself. I told you, blame it on the fact you were carrying Sterling's kid."

Bella shouted, "How can you say that? That was a living being! People like you don't deserve to live!"

Debra sneered, "I don't deserve it? What are you gonna do about it? Your kid is dead. Deal with it."

Bella was so furious she could barely speak. After a long pause, she said, "You'll pay for this. I'll make sure of it."

Debra laughed, a harsh sound that cut through the heavy air. "Punished? I'd love to see you try."

Her laughter seemed to pierce through the clouds, stabbing at Bella's heart.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, hinting at an approaching storm. The whole world felt heavy and angry.

Watching Debra strut away, Bella finally broke down in tears.

She cried for a while, then looked up at the sky. "Baby, I will avenge you."

She had wanted to go back to Sterling, but he didn't believe her anymore. He'd probably think she was losing it again, as he'd said many times he'd cover for Debra.

Bella took a moment to gather herself and decided she didn't need Sterling to get her revenge. She could handle it on her own.

As soon as Debra walked into Sterling's office, her demeanor shifted to sweet and gentle.

"Sterling, why haven't you come to see me?" She tried to latch onto his arm like she used to.

But Sterling pulled away, his face twisted in disgust. "What do you want?"

Debra pretended not to notice his reaction. "Can't I visit without a reason?" she said, trying to sound playful.

In reality, she was there to gauge Sterling's feelings about Bella. Even though the car accident seemed to be behind them, she'd heard whispers that someone was investigating the stillborn child that vanished from the hospital.

This made Debra uneasy, but she masked her fear and probed Sterling. "Sterling, I heard you went to the hospital yesterday. Are you okay?"

Sterling eyed her suspiciously. "How do you know my schedule? Are you following me?"

Debra's heart skipped a beat. "What? No, of course not. My mom was there for a check-up and mentioned she saw you," she lied smoothly.

Realizing Sterling wasn't someone she could easily manipulate, Debra decided to back off and find another way to avoid raising his suspicions.

Debra eventually found an excuse to leave the Windsor Group, and Sterling immediately had Ryan investigate Debra's whereabouts on the day of the car accident.

Meanwhile, Bella was desperate to find Owen. He was the only one who could help her get revenge.

But she had no idea where to start. After some thought, she decided to ask Anna for help.

Just as she was about to call Anna, Micah rang her up, asking her to come back to the office.

Bella thought it was urgent, but it turned out Micah just needed her to deliver a document to Sterling.

She was annoyed, knowing he was trying to smooth things over between her and Sterling.

But was there any point in that now?

It took Micah quite a while to persuade her. Reluctantly, Bella took the document and headed back to the Windsor Group building. Debra had already left.

She took the elevator to the top floor, a place she'd been countless times, even just two hours ago.

But now, she saw a woman she'd never seen before. The woman was holding Sterling's coat, carefully helping him put it on, and even adjusting his collar.

Bella froze at the door, unable to move. She knew almost all of Sterling's secretaries, but this woman was a stranger.

Then she reminded herself, 'Why should I care? I've already decided to be strangers with him.'

Taking a deep breath, she walked in.

"Sterling, here's the proposal from our company. Please review it." Bella placed the document on the table, all business.

Sterling noticed Bella and motioned for the woman to leave.

Bella took a closer look at her.
