Chapter 106 Nia's Arrival
When Bella returned this time, she found that Sunny had actually gained some weight. Over the past few days, Bella had been keeping an eye on Sunny's food and cutting down on snacks, worried it might get too chubby.
She wondered what they had been feeding Sunny at home. Bella was now on a mission to help Sunny slim down, and her upbeat attitude had really brightened up the house.
During this time, Anna would drop by to see Bella every day after work. Anna also mentioned that Colin had made her quit all her part-time jobs, making her work only at the company.
Anna complained to Bella, but Bella could sense there was something going on between Anna and Colin.
Bella grinned and asked Anna, "What's the deal with you and Colin? The way you talk, it doesn't sound like he's just your boss."
Anna scoffed, "If he's not my boss, what else could he be? My dad?"
Bella chuckled, "Have you ever seen an employee argue with their boss like that? I see you going at it with Colin without a second thought, and he hasn't fired you yet. He definitely has a soft spot for you."
Anna blushed and said, "Stop teasing me. You know I'm not a rich girl anymore. I don't have the energy to think about that stuff right now."
Bella patted Anna's shoulder, "Anna, don't sell yourself short. To me, whether you're from a wealthy family or just an ordinary girl, you'll always be my friend, and the best kind."
They smiled at each other and dropped the subject. As Bella was seeing Anna out, they heard a roaring sound from a distance.
A red Ferrari sped up to them, and a woman with a knockout figure stepped out of the car.
Anna and Bella exchanged puzzled looks, then watched as the woman in red strutted over, her high heels practically stabbing the ground. She walked up to Bella and asked, "Are you the servants of the Windsor family?"
Before Bella could respond, Anna stepped in front of her and snapped, "What's wrong with your eyes? Servants? I think you're the servant. You're looking for Sterling, right? Well, this is Sterling's wife, Bella. And who are you?"
It wasn't until the woman took off her sunglasses that Bella could see her full face.
She removed her sunglasses and said, "Hello, my name is Nia Getty."
Nia looked Bella up and down and said, "So you're Sterling's wife? Just as I thought." Her tone was dripping with disdain.
Anna was about to go off on Nia, but Bella pulled her back and shook her head.
Seeing Bella's calm reaction, Anna felt even more upset for her.
Nia then pointed at Anna and sneered, "So you're the servant? Great, help me bring the luggage from the trunk inside."
With that, Nia strutted into the house ahead of them.
Anna was fuming and muttered, "What a piece of work, calling me a servant. Who the hell is she?"
Seeing Anna so worked up, Bella quickly tried to calm her down, saying, "I think I know who she is."
Bella had Ryan take Anna home and then got the bodyguards to bring in Nia's luggage.
Nia was Xavier's daughter, and Xavier was someone Sterling held in high regard. With Nia staying over, Bella felt she couldn't really say much.
At first, Bella thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but she changed her mind once she went inside.
Zoey saw Bella come in and said, "Mrs. Windsor, Mr. Windsor just called and said Miss Getty will be staying here for a while. Should I prepare a room for her?"
Bella nodded, but as she and Zoey were talking, they saw Nia kick off her shoes and walk barefoot in the living room before sprawling out on the couch.
Zoey and Bella were both taken aback. Nia had no sense of decorum. In their house, walking barefoot was a no-go, and even the slippers were disinfected daily.
Sterling never allowed Bella to walk barefoot at home because of his severe cleanliness obsession, so Bella always wore slippers.
Zoey's eyes flashed with disgust as she walked over and said, "Miss Getty, you must be tired from your flight. Why don't you take a shower and rest for a while? I'll call you when it's time to eat."
Nia nodded and said, "Sure. I'll shower in Sterling's room."
Zoey's anger flared up, "Miss Getty, that's Mr. Windsor's private bathroom. Mr. Windsor has a cleanliness obsession, and even Mrs. Windsor uses a separate bathroom."
Nia seemed unfazed or maybe just didn't get the point.
Nia smiled and replied, "What's the big deal? Sterling and I grew up together. Cleanliness obsession? He didn't care about that when we were kids. We even slept in the same bed. What's the problem with that?"
Without waiting for Zoey's objection, Nia dragged her suitcase upstairs.
She seemed to be looking for Sterling's room, while Bella stood downstairs holding Sunny, a look of disgust flashing in her eyes. Her feelings towards Nia had now gone beyond mere disdain.
Zoey quickly walked over to Bella and said, "Mrs. Windsor, why didn't you stop her? She's already being so arrogant and bullying us. Say something."
Zoey was so anxious she was wringing her hands.
Bella smiled and said, "Forget it. She's Xavier's daughter, and Sterling seems to respect Xavier a lot. Since his daughter is here to stay, we can't say much. Just bear with it, Zoey."
Zoey sighed and said, "I don't know what to say about you."
Zoey then quickly walked to the kitchen.
When Bella went upstairs, she found Nia really using Sterling's bathroom. Bella felt a strange sense of repulsion.
Bella didn't stay in the room and went downstairs, where she heard Zoey talking to Sunny.
Zoey said, "Another woman has come. Why does Mr. Windsor attract so many women? I need to protect Mrs. Windsor's dignity and not let that woman cause trouble at home. What do you think?"
Sunny meowed in response.
