Chapter 272 Rainy Night Crisis 2

Tobias asked, "Where's the stuff now?"

"It's still in the backyard warehouse," Blair replied.

Caleb's face changed, and then a second guard came to report, "Tobias, those shadows are heading to the backyard."

"Damn it!"

Both Caleb and Tobias's faces turned pale. Sterling must have found out about the drug operation and knew there was a stash hidden in the house. He was coming to catch them red-handed.

Tobias slumped into his chair.

In this critical moment, Caleb's mind worked quickly. "Mr. Windsor, I have an idea."

He had to take a risky move now; they couldn't let Sterling catch them with the evidence. Tobias asked urgently, "What idea?"

"I'll take some men to stall the thieves, slow them down. Meanwhile, you guys move the stash from the warehouse. Mr. Windsor, you stay close to Sterling and keep an eye on him. As long as we move the stuff, there's no evidence. Sterling can't do anything to us."

But Caleb had a different plan in mind—he wanted to take advantage of the chaos to kill Sterling. He didn't share this part with Tobias and the others.

Sterling currently held the power in the Windsor family. If Sterling died here, taking control of the Windsor family would be a piece of cake.

Caleb glanced at the Windsor family members, thinking they were all useless and foolish, trying to stage a coup.

If it weren't for his goal to destroy the Windsor family, he wouldn't have cooperated with these idiots.

The stash was deliberately placed in the Windsor Villa by Caleb to lure Sterling here.

But now, Caleb had to pretend he knew nothing.

With the crisis looming, they had no choice but to follow Caleb's plan.

Caleb watched them leave, a cold smile on his face.

He had tempted them with benefits and money, and they agreed without much thought.

It showed how much they were suppressed by Sterling in the Windsor family, otherwise, they wouldn't have risked the family's century-old foundation.

The three split up and went in different directions.

In the early hours, the sky was drizzling, the light dim.

Tobias, over 80 years old, walked quickly with a cane. He passed through corridors, gates, and courtyards, as if a camera was following him, capturing his shaky mood.

At one point, Tobias suddenly turned and stared at the high eaves of the Windsor Villa. He regretted deeply; he couldn't allow it to collapse.

He couldn't let the Windsor family be destroyed by his hands. He wished he could tear Caleb, that bastard, apart, but what good would that do now?

Derek was also called away by a hurried servant.

Bella and Anna didn't know what was happening, but seeing the servants rush in and take Derek away, they knew something was wrong.

They followed Derek and saw four shadows fighting with the Windsor Villa's guards on the bridge. The sounds of fists, screams, and splashes filled the air.

Bella and Anna were stunned by the scene. Why were people fighting in the middle of the night?

Soon, more people arrived, and the dim light from the corridor lamps barely illuminated the chaos.

"What's going on, Bella? They said there were thieves, but this doesn't look like thieves," Anna said, grabbing Bella's hand in panic.

Bella was also trembling with fear. "Don't panic, let's watch first."

They hid under the bridge, and Bella suddenly remembered Sterling's warning not to go out at night. He must have known tonight would be chaotic.

Bella knew Caleb's men were among the shadows, but she didn't know how Anna would react. She watched Anna closely.

"Colin?" Anna exclaimed, seeing Colin among the fighters.

Bella followed her gaze and saw Colin leading men from under the bridge.

Bella's heart tightened, and Anna was even more confused. "Why is Colin fighting with them?"

Bella didn't know how to explain, and then she saw someone who looked like Caleb.

Bella turned Anna around and said seriously, "Anna, listen to me."

Bella felt there was no need to hide the truth anymore. "What's going on, Bella? What is it?"

Anna was puzzled, but Bella couldn't bring herself to speak. The chaos made it hard to explain.

Bella sighed, "Anna, let's go find Sterling."

Caleb watched the chaos, his hand reaching for something at his waist. In the misty night, the outline of a gun appeared.

The rain intensified, stinging as it hit their bodies.

Bella and Anna moved quietly towards the east wing, Anna pulling Bella. "What's going on? Weren't you just a guest at the Windsor Villa? Why is there fighting?"

Bella said, "Didn't you hear them say there were thieves? I don't know what's happening. Let's find Sterling first."

But Anna didn't believe her. "Thieves? I saw Colin fighting with them."

"Don't worry about him now. Let's go back first," Bella said, pulling Anna through the night rain.

"Who's there? Stop!"

Derek hurriedly opened the warehouse door, a strange scent hitting his nose. He shone a flashlight, revealing four or five cardboard boxes in a corner.

Blair swallowed, his throat dry from nervousness, and waved to his men, "Quick, move the stuff."

Four men rushed over, two lifting each box. Derek worried the stash would get wet, quickly covering it with his jacket. The backyard door opened, and a van was parked in the alley.

They loaded the boxes and returned for the rest.

As the last two boxes were about to be loaded, two bright headlights suddenly lit up the dark alley.

The men dropped the boxes in fear, breaking them open and spilling white powder everywhere.

Derek turned around, seeing Ryan in a suit standing in front of the car, with many men behind him, silently watching like tigers waiting to pounce.

Derek was terrified, unable to breathe.

Ryan walked over. "Mr. Windsor was right. Stir things up, and the snake will come out on its own. Saves us the trouble of finding it."

Derek realized they had fallen into a trap. They had moved the stash themselves, caught red-handed with no way to deny it.
