Chapter 203 Starry Sky Bracelet
The gift box contained a starry sky bracelet that he had asked his secretary to order in the morning, which matched the necklace.
Colin looked at it for a long time, then took Anna's hand and slipped the bracelet onto her wrist.
The delicate wrist adorned with the starry sky diamond necklace looked very beautiful.
Thinking about how surprised she would be when she woke up in the morning, Colin couldn't help but smile.
Colin carried Anna into the guest room. She had drunk a bit too much tonight, but unlike last time, she didn't throw up all over him.
So after putting her on the bed, he quietly closed the door.
Colin had originally planned to give her a bath and change her into his clothes like last time, but he couldn't guarantee that he could remain as composed as before.
He was afraid he wouldn't be able to control himself, so he did nothing this time.
After settling Anna, he went back to the study and called Sterling. Caleb's behavior and attitude tonight had already explained everything.
Caleb was Sterling's half-brother, an illegitimate child.
But now they needed strong evidence, a definitive DNA test, to prove Caleb and Sterling's relationship.
Colin looked at the wine glass on the table that had been sent back from White Bay Restaurant. "I've got something Caleb used. You can send someone to pick it up."
Sterling responded, and Colin lit a cigarette and casually asked, "What's with Caleb constantly pestering Anna since he came back? Does he really want to get back together with her?"
Sterling ignored Colin's complaint, but shortly after hanging up, he sent Colin a document.
As Colin read it, his expression changed, becoming increasingly grim.
He threw the mouse aside, his face now beyond just looking bad. He hadn't expected Caleb to do such a thing.
Thinking about Caleb's attitude towards Anna tonight, he had wanted to speak up for her several times, but because of his presence, Caleb had held back.
Before tonight, he didn't know if Caleb's feelings for Anna were genuine or not, but after reading the document, he could confirm that Caleb might have some genuine feelings for Anna, but they were outweighed by his ambition.
Colin hadn't expected that after so many years of lying low abroad, Caleb had managed to build a massive drug trafficking network.
No wonder he had been able to destroy Sterling's overseas company in one move.
It seemed Sterling was really in a tough spot this time.
Colin closed the computer and lit a cigarette.
Amid the swirling smoke, he wondered what Anna would do if she ever discovered Caleb's true nature.
Would she break down? Would she think of the Powell family's downfall and blame herself?
Colin took a deep drag. It turned out everything was destined. A phrase suddenly came to his mind, 'Love blinds and destroys.'
Colin thought that Anna must have been blinded by love back then. It was Anna who brought Caleb into their lives, leading to the Powell family's downfall.
But it also seemed inevitable. Anna's father, Peter, had been running a jewelry materials business for many years without any issues.
It seemed all the problems started when Caleb and Anna began dating.
Colin wondered if Peter had ever realized there was a problem.
The Powell family had been fine for so many years, but trouble started when Caleb and Anna began dating. Had Peter never suspected anything?
At this thought, Colin's eyes widened. Could Peter's death be related to Caleb?
Colin broke out in a cold sweat. If that were true, could Anna accept this fact?
Colin extinguished his cigarette and called Sterling again. He needed to confirm something.
In the early morning at Whitewater Bay, a scream pierced the quiet morning as usual.
Anna screamed and jumped out of bed.
Seeing that Colin wasn't in the bed and her clothes were intact, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Anna looked around the room, trying to recall what had happened last night, but she couldn't remember anything.
She tapped her head, frustrated with her tendency to blackout when drinking.
Something on her wrist caught her hair. She looked at her wrist.
A bracelet?
Anna thought for a long time but couldn't remember ever wearing a bracelet.
Upon closer inspection, the bracelet looked familiar, with a starry sky theme, inlaid with purple gemstones and matching diamonds.
Wasn't this the same style as that starry sky necklace? But how did it end up on her wrist?
Anna thought for a long time and could only come up with one possibility.
Half an hour later, Anna saw Colin in the kitchen. He seemed to be making breakfast.
Anna had always had a shadow over the Whitewater Bay villa, but seeing Colin making breakfast in the kitchen was quite a sight.
Colin was wearing white loungewear, his tall and handsome figure paired with his excellent cooking skills. Any girl would fall for him.
Anna was no exception, staring at Colin with infatuation for a few minutes.
"If you keep staring, I'm going to start charging," Colin suddenly said, startling Anna.
Anna blushed, her heart racing for a few seconds before she said, "Do you think you're a zoo monkey? Charging people to look at you."
Colin smiled slightly but said nothing, deftly placing an egg on a plate.
Anna pretended to cough and then walked over to Colin. She had to admit, Colin looked handsome even in an apron.
"Just wait outside for breakfast," Colin reminded her.
Anna suddenly put her wrist in front of him, the delicate wrist adorned with the starry sky bracelet shining brightly.
"What's this about?" Anna shook her wrist.
Colin knew she would ask. He had already thought of an excuse. He pretended to be indifferent and said, "What's the matter?"
Anna said, "Don't play dumb. This bracelet is clearly part of the same series as that necklace. Did you buy it?"
Besides Colin, Anna couldn't think of anyone else who would give her such an expensive bracelet, especially one with a starry sky theme.
Colin placed the last egg on a plate and carried it to the dining table. Anna followed behind, persistently asking.
Colin said irritably, "Caleb bought it. Are you satisfied now?"
Anna's brain froze for a few seconds, her face changing. She immediately tried to take it off.
Colin grabbed her hand and lied without blushing, "Alright, I was just teasing you."
"This was a free gift when the secretary ordered the necklace yesterday. I thought I'd give it to you as a reward for helping me block the drinks last night."
Anna looked at Colin suspiciously. "A free gift? Do you think I'm stupid? This bracelet is clearly expensive. Do you think I can't tell?"
