Chapter 161 Ways to Apologize
Colin got the gravity of the situation. He nodded and said, "Alright, I'll check it out. But let's not drag Micah into this right now. He's already had to hand over the company to Elijah, and I bet his home life is a mess."
He added, "Last time Micah mentioned he wanted to leave the family and start his own business. With his connections and skills, he should have no problem running a company."
Sterling nodded, "I can't deal with Micah's situation right now. If you have time, keep an eye on him."
Colin knew Sterling was swamped, so he didn't mess with him and just said, "Alright, I'll keep an eye on him. Stay focused. I'll have someone look into this tomorrow and let you know if there's any news."
When Sterling got back home, it was already past 11 PM. Bella was anxiously waiting at home, glancing at the clock on the wall every now and then.
The clock ticked from 7 to 9, and then from 9 to 11. She finally couldn't stand it anymore and, feeling sleepy, wanted to go to bed.
Sterling had just returned from a business trip and a long flight. He figured he might not have the energy to argue with Bella.
So the first thing he did when he got home was take a shower and then hit the bed. Bella was already feeling a bit sleepy, but as soon as Sterling lay down beside her, she immediately woke up.
Bella looked at Sterling lying calmly on the bed, hands on his chest, in a standard sleeping position. If she didn't know better, she would have thought he was preparing for a funeral.
Bella was puzzled. Didn't Sterling say he wanted to settle things with her? Why was he so calm?
Bella couldn't help but lean closer to get a better look at him. As soon as she got close, before she could see clearly, Sterling flipped over and pinned her beneath him.
Bella's breath hitched, and she couldn't help but think of the photo of Sterling and Debra. Then she used all her strength to flip over and pin Sterling beneath her.
Sterling raised an eyebrow in surprise. Was the little rabbit turning into a wolf? So bold?
Sterling raised his hand to hold Bella's slender waist, pressing her against him, not letting her go. "What's wrong? Are you angry?" Sterling asked knowingly, looking at her.
Bella snorted, "Who dares to be angry with you? I just don't get it. Some people say they won't lie anymore, but then they break the rules. How do they do business without keeping their word?"
Listening to Bella's resentful words, Sterling couldn't help but smile. "Didn't have enough to eat tonight? Want me to go to the kitchen and make you something?"
Bella knew Sterling was teasing her, which made her even angrier. She struggled to get off him, but Sterling held her down and said, "Don't move, little rabbit."
Bella was instantly deflated by his words, but she still struggled and said, "You said you ran into Debra by chance, but you tolerated her taking photos? And you allowed her to post your photos on social media? Aren't you doing this on purpose to annoy me?"
Listening to Bella's accusations, Sterling felt an unusual sense of satisfaction. A woman being jealous greatly fed a man's vanity.
Sterling's hand unconsciously slipped under Bella's nightgown, exploring her smooth skin.
"Are you really that angry?"
Sterling whispered in Bella's ear, and she immediately softened but still forced herself to say, "Yes, very angry."
Sterling chuckled deeply, then took her earlobe into his mouth. Bella felt a shiver run through her body; her ears were her most sensitive spot, and Sterling knew it well.
"Then let me make it up to you. Just go with it tonight, and I'll make you feel amazing." Before Bella could even process Sterling's suggestive words, he flipped her over and pinned her beneath him, his hands leaving a trail of heat as they moved downward.
Bella let him take control. She never knew he could be so varied in bed. Tonight, she didn't know what had gotten into her, agreeing to his every demand.
Now, Bella just wanted to go back an hour and slap herself for not pushing him away.
Her long legs wrapped around Sterling's lean waist, and soft moans filled the night.
Sterling thought he was exhausted, but with Bella, he felt like he had endless energy. Even when he was too tired to carry her to the bathroom to clean up, he didn't want to let her go.
Sterling couldn't help but laugh to himself. If he ever died unexpectedly, he thought it would be on top of Bella.
The next day, when Bella woke up, it was already 1 PM. She got up and saw the neatly tidied bed and floor. Her face flushed as she recalled the madness of the previous night. She thought she must be crazy to agree to all of Sterling's demands.
Thinking of Sterling's head between her legs, she felt so embarrassed. The more Bella thought about it, the more wrong it seemed. She quickly shook her head to get rid of those intimate thoughts.
The issue with the photo was completely forgotten after a night of intense lovemaking. Bella felt Sterling was avoiding an explanation, using his actions to show what he thought was the best explanation.
Early that morning, Sterling went to the office. Bella went downstairs, looking exhausted after a night of being worn out by Sterling.
Zoey approached her with concern, "Mrs. Windsor, did you and Mr. Windsor have another fight? He looked pale when he left this morning after returning from his trip yesterday. Did you two argue again?"
Bella's face blushed, and she quickly shook her head, "No, we didn't fight."
Bella couldn't very well say her tired look was because Sterling had worn her out all night, nor could she say Sterling's pale face was because he almost fainted from exhaustion last night.
Just as Bella was feeling extremely awkward, Nia leisurely came downstairs and said, "Zoey, you don't understand. When has Bella ever slept until the afternoon? Sterling must have really worn her out last night."
Nia's words made Bella want to find a hole to crawl into. She glared at Nia, "Nia, are you looking for trouble?"
Nia laughed and hugged Bella, "You look different after being well-loved. Your skin even looks better."
Nia said this while touching Bella's face, making Bella punch her.
Zoey almost grabbed Nia's ear, "Look at you, a young lady. Can't you do something proper instead of always focusing on couples' affairs?"
"Can't you do something proper?" Bella echoed Zoey's words.
Nia giggled, "Actually, I do have something proper. Bella, I'm officially moving out tomorrow. I'm throwing a party tonight, so make sure to come. I've also invited Sterling. Bring your best friend along too."
Nia's last words were said with a proud tone, making Bella laugh. "What? Want to be friends with Anna?"
Nia snorted and flipped her hair, "Who wants to be friends with her? I just think the more, the merrier."
Bella smiled but didn't expose her. "Alright, we'll all be there to cheer you on tonight."
