Chapter 24 The Furious Sterling

Bella had already bailed from the room. She couldn't find her own clothes, so she had to rock James' threads.

Right now, Bella was freaking out. She needed to get back to Windsor Villa ASAP and act like nothing went down. Maybe that way, she could keep James and Anna safe.

Bella knew that James, who had been in bed with her, was definitely gonna face Sterling's wrath, and Sterling wouldn't let Anna, who dragged her to the party, off the hook either.

Suddenly, Bella's phone buzzed. It was Sterling.

Bella stared at Sterling's number. Her hand shook as she reached for the phone. She was too scared to answer, but the ringing wouldn't stop, driving her nuts.

Finally, Bella picked up.

Sterling's icy voice cut through. "Bella, you're getting gutsy. I told you to stay home, and you went out partying, ending up in bed with James! Where are you now?"

Bella's face went ghost-white, and she started shaking. She didn't expect Sterling to find out so fast. She could feel his barely-contained rage.

"I'm at home," Bella stammered. The call ended abruptly, and she knew Sterling was on his way.

'Gotta call Anna and tell her to scram,' Bella thought, dialing Anna's number in a panic.

"Pick up, now!" Bella muttered as the call struggled to connect.

Finally, Anna answered, sounding chill. "What's up, Bella?" Before Anna could finish, Bella cut her off.

"Anna, get outta town now. Buy a plane ticket and leave the country, ASAP! Move it!" Bella practically screamed.

Anna, now freaked out by Bella's tone, still didn't get it. "Why do I need to leave? What happened?"

Bella spilled the beans. "The brother I told you about is Sterling! He found out about me and James. He won't spare you! Run now!"

Bella shouted, but the call suddenly dropped. When she tried to call back, it went straight to voicemail.

"Could it be Sterling's doing? No, maybe her phone died," Bella tried to calm herself.

Suddenly, a news alert popped up on her phone. Bella opened it and felt her blood freeze.

The headline showed a photo of her and James in bed together.

Bella finally got how Sterling found out so fast. She was also baffled about how such a private photo got leaked.

Bella quickly pieced it together, 'This is a setup against Sterling. Someone's trying to take him down.'

She then heard the roar of a car engine outside. Sterling's car screeched into the villa's yard, and he jumped out, looking furious.

Bella was drowning in despair. She sat on the edge of the bed, shaking like a leaf. It wasn't just fear of Sterling; it was the guilt eating her alive.

Sterling kicked open Bella's bedroom door with a bang that echoed like a death knell.

The noise hit Bella like a sledgehammer, making her face go even paler.

Sterling stormed over to Bella's bed and grabbed her by the neck, his bloodshot eyes boring into hers.

"Why'd you do this? What did I do wrong? Why'd you cheat on me?" Sterling practically roared.

Bella tried to pry Sterling's hand off, gasping for air, her face twisted in pain.

"So, it's not that you hate kissing; you just prefer kissing James, huh?" Sterling suddenly let go of her neck.

Bella gulped in air, but the next second, Sterling's mouth was on hers, biting down hard.

Bella clenched her fists, too scared to fight back, even as she felt her lips split and blood trickle into her mouth.

Sterling pulled back, a smear of her blood on his lips.

"You can do whatever you want to me, just don't hurt them," Bella cried, looking at Sterling with pleading eyes.

Sterling grabbed her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "What makes you think you have the right to bargain with me? Your dirty body?"

His words cut deep, like needles piercing her heart. Bella could only let the tears fall, staring helplessly at Sterling.

Sterling let go of her face and stood by the bed, taking deep breaths.

Suddenly, Bella's phone rang again. She thought it might be Anna, but it was James.

Sterling snatched the phone and answered it. James' voice came through.

"Bella, I'm sorry. I can't remember what happened last night, but I'll take responsibility!" James' apologetic voice filled the room.

Bella covered her face in despair. She knew James' voice would set Sterling off again.

Sure enough, Sterling spoke into the phone, "James, I gave the Savoy family a chance. Looks like I was too kind."

James was silent for a moment before saying, "Take it out on me, but don't hurt Bella."

Sterling smashed the phone to the ground, shattering it.

Bella stared at the broken phone, feeling like her soul had shattered along with it. She had never felt so hopeless.

She had never seen such rage on Sterling's face. She couldn't imagine what kind of revenge he had in store for her friends.

But to her surprise, Sterling didn't torture her or give any orders. He leaned against the wall with his eyes closed, like he was waiting for something.

Soon, Owen came running up, holding two pieces of paper.

"Mr. Windsor, the documents you requested are ready." Owen handed one paper to Sterling and the other to Bella.

Bella took the paper, and its contents left her stunned. It was a marriage agreement.

"You want to marry me?" Bella couldn't believe it. Even after she had cheated on Sterling, he still wanted to marry her.
