Chapter 110 Deep Kiss
The next day, Bella was deep in thought when she saw Nia coming over with Sunny in her arms. Bella's face turned icy as she quickly grabbed Sunny away.
"Don't hold my cat," Bella snapped.
She didn't know what got into her; she felt a bit unhinged. Seeing Nia with her cat made her feel like something precious was being taken from her.
Bella's reaction was so intense that both Nia and Sterling were taken aback.
Nia seized the moment to whine to Sterling, "Sterling, it's just a cat, right? Did she need to be so fierce? She scared me. It's just an animal. Sterling, can you give it to me?"
Sterling's face darkened, and he said, "Cut it out. If you want a cat, I'll buy you a new one."
Bella let out a sigh of relief, grateful that Sterling didn't agree to give Sunny to Nia.
Nia pouted and said, "But I want this one, Sterling. Look how cute it is. I feel such a strong connection with it. Can you give it to me?"
Nia clung to Sterling's arm, shaking it and acting all cutesy.
Bella couldn't stand it anymore and coldly said, "Miss Getty, please understand that this cat is mine. I'm its owner, and it has nothing to do with Sterling. So asking him is pointless. Besides, Sunny really doesn't like you."
With that, Bella turned and walked away. Seeing Bella leave in a huff, Nia smirked to herself, 'It's just a cat. I don't care.'
Nia said, "Forget it, Sterling. Since Bella won't give it to me, I don't want it anymore."
Sterling nodded and headed to his study.
Bella saw Zoey carrying coffee upstairs and quickly approached her, saying, "Is that for Sterling? Let me take it."
Zoey was momentarily pleased and said, "Mrs. Windsor, you finally understand how to stand up for yourself. Look at Nia, causing trouble everywhere. Mrs. Windsor, you should show Miss Getty who the real mistress of this house is."
Bella smiled but said nothing. She took the coffee and knocked on Sterling's study door.
Sterling was surprised to see Bella and said, "It's late. You should be asleep. It's not good for your health."
Then he noticed the coffee in Bella's hand and said, "Just leave it here. You should go to bed early."
Seeing that Sterling was in a good mood these days, Bella wanted to take the chance to ask him for a favor.
Hesitantly, Bella said, "I'm not sleepy yet. Zoey just made this coffee. Try it."
Sterling took the coffee and placed it on the table, then softly asked, "Are you feeling better? Does it still hurt?"
Faced with Sterling's gentle inquiry, Bella felt a bit lost.
Sterling looked at Bella, his eyes gentle and affectionate. Unable to resist, Sterling pulled Bella onto his lap.
Bella was startled and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
They stared at each other, not knowing what to say. Sterling looked at Bella, his Adam's apple bobbing as he spoke in a husky voice, "Bella."
Hearing him call her name, Bella couldn't help but ask, "What?"
Before Bella could finish her sentence, Sterling suddenly kissed her, causing Bella to widen her eyes in shock.
What was going on? Weren't they supposed to be enemies with a grudge between them? Shouldn't they be fighting when they met? How did they end up kissing?
Bella wanted to push Sterling away, but he held her waist tightly, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss. His tongue parted Bella's lips, delving deeper as their kiss intensified.
Bella couldn't take it anymore and tried to push Sterling away, but the more she moved, the tighter he held her.
Completely out of breath, Bella felt Sterling's hand slide under her shirt, caressing her smooth skin.
Feeling a sudden chill, Bella snapped back to reality and pressed down on Sterling's hand inside her shirt.
"No," Bella said firmly.
Sterling also regained his senses for a moment and released Bella, trying to steady his breathing.
Bella's heart raced, her blood surged, and she felt like her limbs were no longer her own.
They held each other, trying to catch their breath.
After a long while, Sterling reached out to straighten Bella's clothes and tucked her disheveled hair behind her ear. He gently touched Bella's flushed face, his eyes full of tenderness. Her lips were red and alluring, and he almost kissed her again.
Sterling held back and, with a hint of a smile, said, "Bella, are you trying to seduce me tonight?"
Hearing this, Bella's ears tingled with heat as her face flushed an even deeper shade of crimson. She pushed Sterling away and got off his lap.
"Sterling, you..." Bella stammered, unable to find the words. She didn't know how things had turned out this way. She had only come to ask Sterling for a favor, but now the situation had become so ambiguous.
After thinking for a moment, Bella decided not to say anything and ran out. As she left, she saw Zoey coming upstairs to change the bed sheets. Zoey noticed Bella's flushed face as she ran out of the study.
Zoey smiled with satisfaction, thinking that it wouldn't be long before there was another child in the house. But then she remembered that Bella had recently lost a child, and her smile froze. It seemed there was still a long way to go.
Bella ran back to her room and collapsed on the bed.
Bella felt a bit annoyed. She just wanted to ask Sterling for permission to bring Sunny into her room. Why did she and Sterling end up kissing?
She couldn't leave Sunny outside, not with Nia eyeing her cat.
But now, not only had she failed to accomplish her goal, but Sterling had also kissed her. Why had the atmosphere between them become so strange?
Thinking about it, Bella didn't know when she fell asleep. When Sterling returned to the room, he saw that Bella was already asleep. He recalled the feeling of kissing Bella earlier.
It had been a long time since they had been so intimate. Since the last incident, he knew Bella had been harboring resentment towards him.
But Sterling still couldn't give Bella an answer. That didn't mean he didn't know the truth.
Seeing Bella tonight, Sterling couldn't help himself. Bella was beautiful. In his heart, no one could compare to her beauty.
