Chapter 74 The Gambling Mother

The tattooed thug squatted down, leering at Anna. "Your mom might be a bit old, but she can use her body to pay for that. Paying off debts with the body is pretty standard around here. With your looks, you could clear her debt in no time," he said, reaching out to touch her face.

Anna grabbed a decorative item from the floor and smashed it against his face.

The thug screamed in pain, clutching his wound. "Grab this bitch! I'm gonna strip her naked and toss her out on the street," he yelled.

Anna and Qiana clung to each other, terrified, as the thugs moved in. Suddenly, the front door was kicked open.

Colin stormed in, grabbed one thug by the neck, and tossed him out. He punched another in the nose and kicked a third, sending him flying. The thugs tried to fight back but were no match for Colin.

"Who do you think you're gonna strip?" Colin picked up a folding knife from the floor and lightly pressed it against the tattooed thug's face.

The thug shivered at the cold touch. "I was just joking, trying to scare them into paying up sooner," he stammered, terrified of Colin's fighting skills.

Colin sneered, tapping the thug's face with the knife. "You like watching people run naked, huh? Strip off your clothes and run outside, or I'll break one of your legs," he said, his eyes cold and ruthless.

The thugs were paralyzed with fear; Colin's presence was terrifying.

Bella, who had just climbed up from downstairs, heard Colin's words as she reached the door. She could feel his intimidating aura, which, while not as domineering as Sterling's, was still chilling.

'No wonder he's Sterling's friend; Colin's aura is terrifying. I wonder if Micah has the same presence?' Bella thought as she walked over to help Anna and Qiana up.

"Do you know who our boss is? It's Kade Mitchell. Have you thought about the consequences of what you're doing?" the thug shouted at Colin.

Colin patted the thug's face. "I can show you the consequences right now."

He took out his phone and snapped a photo of the thug's face, then dialed a number. "Vance, help me look up this guy's info, and send me everything you have on their boss, Kade Mitchell."

The thug suddenly felt uneasy; the name Colin mentioned sounded like the local police chief.

Not long after, the thug's phone rang in his pocket.

Colin put away his knife and pointed to the thug's pocket. The thug took out his phone and answered it, only to hear Kade's angry voice.

"Why the hell did you offend Colin? He's someone even I can't afford to mess with! You moron, how dare you use my name! If you want to die, don't drag me down with you," Kade yelled before hanging up.

The thug felt a wave of terror wash over him. His face turned pale, and he looked at Colin, trembling.

Colin stood there, a smile on his face. "So, you ready to strip?"

The thug nodded frantically and started taking off his clothes.

"Hold up, let these guys strip outside," Bella suddenly said.

The thug, now shirtless, glanced at Bella and then fearfully looked at Colin.

"Didn't you hear the lady? Go outside to strip!" Colin kicked the thug in the butt.

The group of thugs bolted out of the room and downstairs, then started taking off their clothes.

They ran quickly, probably feeling embarrassed, and disappeared around a corner.

"Those guys are probably putting their clothes back on now, but whatever. They should've learned their lesson," Colin said with a mischievous grin.

No one else in the room laughed, making Colin feel a bit awkward.

"What's with those guys? The people your dad owes money to wouldn't use such sleazy methods to collect debts, would they?" Colin asked, looking at Anna.

Anna glanced at Qiana, who looked a bit embarrassed.

"My mom got scammed. Someone told her she could make quick money through gambling to pay off the debt. So she used our remaining savings to gamble, but not only did she lose all the money, she also ended up owing the casino a huge debt," Anna said, clearly upset.

Qiana, feeling embarrassed, said, "At first, I did win a lot of money, but I don't know why I kept losing afterward."

Colin looked at Qiana, speechless. It was evident that Qiana had spent far too long in comfortable surroundings and was utterly oblivious to the harsh realities of the outside world.

"How could you gamble? The casino people let you win at first to make you think you could keep winning, so you'd keep putting money in. Then they slowly make you lose, and once you're desperate, you're done for," Bella said, also displeased with Qiana.

"But I did win a few times in between. I just think I was unlucky," Qiana said, still unwilling to accept it.

Colin frowned. "Mrs. Powell, I need to remind you that the casino can easily control or change the outcome of your bets. They let you win a few times to make you put more money in. It's like a machine; the odds can be controlled by them."

Qiana's face turned pale, and then she became angry. "So I've been tricked all along!"

Colin smirked. "Even if you know, what can you do? Are you going to mess with them? I chased them away today, but what about next time?"

Qiana was at a loss because Colin made a good point.

Bella then took out a bank card. "This is the money Caleb returned to you. Use it to pay off the casino debt first, then find a job."

Anna looked at the bank card and finally smiled. "Let's pay off the debt while those thugs are still scared."

Then Anna pulled Qiana towards the door.

Bella and Colin followed them.

"Colin, can you do me a favor?" Bella whispered.
