Chapter 441 Drowning Sorrows in Alcohol

Only then did Anna snap out of her daze. She grabbed her suitcase and stumbled out of the hotel.

She didn't actually go to the airport, nor did she really book that 1 AM flight. It was all just to fool Colin, to give herself a reason for a clean break, and to give him an excuse not to try to keep her.

The moment she said the words "let's break up," her heart felt like it was being stabbed by thousands of needles. But she knew that short-term pain was better than long-term suffering. For both their futures, she had to make this difficult decision.

Anna took a cab straight to Bella's apartment. Tears kept streaming down her face the whole way, soaking her clothes. When she knocked on Bella's door, her eyes were already red and swollen from crying, her voice hoarse.

Seeing her like this, Bella had already guessed what happened. He didn't ask questions, just quietly poured her a glass of warm water and said softly, "Go ahead and cry. You'll feel better if you let it out." He knew that right now, Anna didn't need comfort - she needed an outlet to release her emotions.

Anna took the glass, tears falling again. As she cried, she pulled out her phone and randomly tapped at the screen. Bella noticed she was ordering food delivery - not much food to go with drinks, but a whole case of alcohol.

Bella frowned but didn't stop her, because he knew that only when she was drunk would she quiet down. Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.

By the time the delivery arrived, Anna was already sitting on the sofa, staring blankly ahead. She grabbed a can of beer and downed it in one go without hesitation. The alcohol burned her throat, but she seemed not to feel it at all, just mumbling, "I can't let him go. My heart hurts."

Bella sat beside her, silently handing her tissues, watching her drink glass after glass, his heart full of helplessness and concern. He knew that right now Anna needed someone to talk to, so he gently said, "You can talk to me about it. Maybe it'll help to say it out loud."

Anna looked up, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Bella, her voice choked, "Bella, I really don't know what to do anymore. I love him, but I can't be with him. I'm in so much pain."

Bella gently patted her shoulder and said softly, "Anna, when it comes to relationships, there's no right or wrong, only whether it's suitable or not. If you really love him, be brave and go for it. But if there are problems between you that really can't be solved, then let go. Whatever you choose, I'll support you. But do you really think the problems between you can't be solved?"

Anna just kept crying and drinking. Bella sighed, thinking he'd wait until she calmed down to talk more.

Bella also picked up a bottle and slowly drank along with her. After a while, Anna finally started to calm down.

Bella gently asked, "So what are you planning to do next? Go back to Harborvale, or stay here?"

Anna shook her head in confusion, tears welling up in her eyes again. "I really don't know. My mind is completely blank right now. I can't think straight about anything."

Anna's voice was full of helplessness and confusion, as if the whole world had lost its color.

Bella looked at her, his eyes full of worry. He sighed and gently patted Anna's shoulder. "Anna, don't rush. Wait until you've recovered a bit before thinking about this. Your emotions are too chaotic right now. Any decision you make might not be what you really want. Besides, Colin probably isn't doing well either. He's probably suffering too. I wonder what it looks like when someone who's used to being carefree gets heartbroken."

At the mention of Colin, Anna's emotions instantly collapsed. She cried even harder, tears falling like broken beads.

The Colin that Anna knew usually carried a unique charm - a quality that blended elegance with a carefree attitude, making him stand out among crowds.

However, when she gathered the courage to suggest breaking up, Colin changed completely, as if a sensitive nerve had been touched. Those eyes that used to be full of tenderness now seemed to burn with raging fire, making Anna feel incredibly scared and like he was a stranger.

In that moment, she saw the vulnerability and insecurity deep in his heart, and felt his deep attachment and reluctance to let her go.

But reason told Anna that their relationship had reached its end. Continuing would only make both of them more miserable.

Thinking about this made Anna's heart ache, as if her heart was being squeezed tight. She understood that her suggestion to break up was a huge blow to Colin, but wasn't he also an inseparable part of her own heart?

When Sterling pushed open Colin's door, he thought he'd entered the wrong room. A wave of luxurious yet restless atmosphere hit him in the face.

Sterling frowned. The room was filled with smoke. Under several ornate chandeliers, Colin sat among a pile of playing cards, surrounded by several women in revealing clothes with elaborate makeup. They had hot bodies and curvy figures, every movement radiating tempting charm.

They were either giggling flirtatiously or posing seductively, every gesture revealing their anticipation and calculation about tonight's plans. In their eyes, this wasn't just simple entertainment, but a rare opportunity. They hoped to stay, and perhaps earn a nice sum of money in return.

But Sterling's eyes showed a hint of displeasure.

"Sterling, you're here? What a surprise! Want to play a few rounds and relax?" Colin had his arm around one of the women, wearing a carefree smile on his face, seemingly completely oblivious to Sterling's increasingly furrowed brow. The woman nestled in his arms.

Sterling ignored Colin's suggestion. His gaze swept around the room and finally fixed on the heavy smoke. He frowned, walked straight to the window, yanked open the tightly closed curtains, then forcefully pushed open the window, letting the fresh air from outside rush in, trying to dispel this suffocating murky atmosphere. Even though he was a smoker himself, at this moment he couldn't stand such a strong smell of smoke.

"Make them leave."

The women who had been trying to show off their charm in front of Sterling froze their smiles the moment they heard his cold and firm "make them leave." They glanced at each other, a flash of disappointment and unwillingness in their eyes, but quickly regained their composure.

In this circle, they were well-versed in reading the room, knowing when to advance and retreat. So without anyone daring to make a move, they simply stood up silently, straightened their clothes, and left the room one by one, leaving only Colin and Sterling.
