Chapter 113 Sold Her for 2 Million Dollars
Colt White leaned in and said, "You must be Miss Powell, right? I gotta say, you're way prettier in person. What's up with the photos you and your mom sent me? Did you get some work done? Not a fan of plastic surgery, honestly. I like natural beauty. Plus, it's not the best for your health in the long run."
Anna and Bella had to fight the urge to deck him.
Anna managed to say, "Actually, I'm Anna. This is my friend Bella." She tried to keep her cool.
Colt squinted at her, "You're Miss Powell? Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Anna thought, 'Did you even give me a chance to talk? You just kept rambling.'
Anna and Bella wanted to bolt, but for the sake of Anna's bank card, they had to endure it.
Colt plopped down across from them and said, "Alright, let me introduce myself. I'm Colt White, 50 years old. As you can see, I'm loaded. I'm looking for a kind woman to settle down with, preferably one who can give me three sons. After we get hitched, you can stay home and take care of the kids. I'll give you $2,000 a month. That should be enough, right?"
Before Anna could respond, he went on, "You're pretty skinny. Hope you're taking care of yourself. If you can't have kids, you wouldn't mind if I found someone else to have them, right? Gotta be open-minded these days, don't you think?"
Anna wanted to throw her coffee in his face. She forced a smile and said, "Of course, I wouldn't mind. That's your business."
Colt grinned, "Didn't expect you to be so chill. So, when are we getting our marriage license?"
Anna snapped, "Marriage license? Are you kidding me? I never planned on having kids with you. Seriously, with your attitude, do you think you can find a wife to have three sons? I bet you can't even find a woman. You're worth billions and only offer $2,000 a month? Do you know how much I make in a month?"
Even though Colin seemed unreliable, ever since he gave her a raise, she made about $10,000 a month. Did she care about $2,000?
Anna cut to the chase, "Keep your money and buy a mirror. Take a good look at yourself before making such comments. I can't believe you have the nerve to say that."
Bella chuckled at Anna's sharp words.
Colt's face darkened, "Miss Powell, how can you be so rude?"
Anna laughed, "Rude? I think I've been polite enough today. Otherwise, this coffee would be on your face."
She stood up and said to Bella, "Let's go."
Unexpectedly, Colt grabbed her wrist and said, "Miss Powell, your mom said you have to marry me. Didn't she tell you? She already took $2 million from me and sold you to me."
Anna was stunned and yanked her hand away from Colt, shouting, "What? Two million dollars? How is that even possible?"
She looked at Bella, completely lost. Bella quickly reassured her, "Don't worry."
Bella then turned to Colt, not holding back, "Whoever took your money, go deal with them. Why are you bothering Anna?"
Colt's face darkened, and he said sternly, "Don't play dumb. Your mom took my money, so she has to sell you to me. You want to back out? There's a contract."
He pulled out a contract from his bag, clearly stating that Qiana agreed to sell Anna to Colt for two million dollars to be his wife.
Anna was so furious she started crying on the spot, "Why is she doing this to me? Why doesn't she ever care about my feelings?"
Bella tried to comfort her, "Don't worry, we'll find a way to fix this."
Anna sobbed, "What way?"
Bella tried to pull Anna away, but Colt grabbed her forcefully. The three of them caused quite a scene in the coffee shop.
Bella said, "Let go of Anna. Her mom owes you money, and we can pay you back."
Colt replied, "It's only $2 million. Besides, do I look like I need money? Her mom sold her to me. It's no use arguing now. Come with me to get our marriage license."
Colt was strong, and despite his limp, he managed to drag Anna out. Bella, desperate, grabbed Anna.
Then Bella thought of calling the police. While she was dialing, Colt had already dragged Anna out of the coffee shop. Bella immediately chased after them.
Anna struggled and kicked at Colt, saying, "Let go of me, I'll go with you."
Bella was shocked to hear Anna say that.
She anxiously said, "Anna, you can't..."
Anna winked at Bella and then said to Colt, "You want me to get our marriage license with you, right? If you drag me there, won't it be obvious to everyone that I'm being forced?"
Colt thought for a moment and agreed, letting go of Anna.
Anna took a step back, grabbed Bella, and said, "Run."
They bolted. Colt, with his leg issues, cursed and tried to chase them but couldn't keep up.
In the end, Colt had no choice but to give up. He called Qiana, cursing her, "You scammer, give me my money back. Your daughter cursed me out and even ran off. I'm calling the police and having you arrested for fraud. Give me my money back."
Qiana was confused by the cursing, then figured it must be Anna refusing again. She called Anna, but her phone was off.
Anna and Bella ran a long way, gasping for breath. Bella, still not fully recovered, looked pale. Anna was alarmed and immediately pulled Bella to sit by a flower bed.
Anna said, "Bella, are you okay? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought you out today. Are you feeling unwell? I'll take you to the hospital."
Bella forced a smile and reassured Anna, "Anna, I'm fine. My heart's just racing a bit. I'll be fine after a rest."
Anna nodded but still felt uneasy.
