Chapter 145 Sleep with Me

Even though Colin's mom married into the Rivera family, they never really accepted her.

People outside said she was lucky, finally making it through until his grandparents passed away. She thought her best days were ahead. But then his dad couldn't resist temptation and had an affair.

When they moved back to the Rivera Mansion, things got better financially, but his parents started fighting. His dad stopped coming home, drank a lot, and his affairs became public. His mom could only cry in sorrow.

Maybe heaven thought she'd suffered enough because his dad died before Colin was an adult. His mom raised him alone, living a simple life, and took over managing the Rivera family. But the warmth and happiness were gone.

His mom, busy managing the Rivera family, no longer had time to hold him and tell stories or see what awards he got at school.

Those warm, simple days were over. They weren't close anymore, so he rarely went back to the Rivera Mansion and lived alone in Whitewater Bay.

Now, looking at Anna, it felt like those days were just yesterday.

After cleaning up, Anna checked her phone and saw it was already half-past twelve. She wanted to call a cab, but her phone died as soon as she opened the ride-hailing app.

Anna gritted her teeth, put her phone away, and walked over to Colin. "Give me your phone. I need to call a cab. Mine's dead."

Seeing Colin lying still, she didn't bother with him and reached into his pants pocket, found his phone, and quickly called a cab.

While waiting, Anna went to the kitchen for a glass of water. She didn't notice Colin had moved from the sofa to behind her.

Suddenly, he said, "Why don't you stay here tonight and sleep with me?"

Anna almost spat out her water, turning around in disbelief. "Colin, are you drunk? What are you saying? Sleep with you? How can you say that so openly? Pervert."

Colin, unfazed, continued, "Really, just sleep, nothing else."

Anna scoffed, "Do you believe yourself? Besides, if you want a one-night stand, there are plenty of women out there. Why me?"

Not wanting to entertain his nonsense, she pushed him and walked towards the living room.

Colin followed her, saying, "Really, just sleep, and I'll pay you."

Anna didn't want to hear it. "I've already called a cab. And don't tell me you're afraid of the dark or cold when you sleep. Don't make such excuses. I'm a decent girl; how could I sleep with you?"

When Colin heard "decent," his eyes darkened, and he fell silent.

Anna continued, "Don't forget, you have a fiancée. How would she feel if I slept with you? And I hate mistresses the most, you know? Do you think I'd allow myself to be one? And you, a playboy, do you think I'd be interested in you? Dream on. Give me the phone; I need to check if my cab's here."

Colin quietly said, "I canceled it."

She glared at him, "What? You canceled it? Give me the phone; I need to call again."

Holding the phone high, he said, "Stay with me tonight."

Anna, unable to reason with him, stomped on his foot in anger. "Colin, stop messing around, okay? I'm just here for a part-time job, okay? A legitimate part-time job, not including sleeping with you. If you want to sleep, go find your fiancée. Stop talking nonsense."

Colin ignored her, "I'm serious, just sleep, nothing else."

Seeing Colin's red eyes, Anna knew he was talking nonsense. She kicked him and said, "Keep dreaming. I'm leaving."

Anna turned and ran outside. 'This jerk not only canceled my cab but also asked me to sleep next to him. He is out of his mind.'

Resigning herself to a long walk out of Whitewater Bay, she trudged along the remote mountain path. For about 20 minutes, she couldn't find a cab. Her legs ached as she cursed Colin the entire way.

Colin was the type many girls would like and be attracted to. He was rich, handsome, and flirtatious.

If he wanted to seduce a girl, it would be too easy. But Anna was not one of those girls, and her status didn't allow her to like Colin.

So she never entertained such thoughts. Even if she felt a moment of attraction, she would suppress it.

Micah was right; Colin was not someone she could afford to get involved with.

As she bent over to catch her breath, a beam of light shone from behind. Anna turned to see Colin driving up.

He stopped, rolled down the window, and said, "Get in, I'll take you home."

Anna, exhausted from the long walk, said, "Are you crazy? You're driving after drinking!"

Colin said, "What else can I do? I can't let you walk home alone. By the time you get home, it'll be morning. How will you go to work tomorrow?"

Anna thought he had a point and then glared at him, "If you hadn't canceled my cab, I would have been home by now."

She got in the car, and as soon as she closed the door, she saw Colin turn the car around and head back to Whitewater Bay.

Her eyes widened, "Bastard, didn't you say you'd take me home? What are you doing? Why are we going back?"

Colin, helplessly smirking, said, "I am taking you home. I never said which home. We're going back to my villa."

Anna, furious, wanted to jump out of the car. "Colin, you're so shameless."

Colin softly said, "You sleep on the sofa, I'll sleep in the bed, okay? It's so late, if something happens to you while walking home, I'll be the prime suspect, you know?"

Anna thought about it and realized he was right. It was so late, and she couldn't get a cab. Walking home would take forever.

When they arrived at the villa, they found the sofa in a mess, stained with a mixture of what seemed to be red wine and milk.

Anna angrily said, "It wasn't like this when I left. How could you do this?"

Colin thought she was angry because he had deliberately messed up the sofa to prevent her from sleeping on it.
