Chapter 141 Another Argument

Bella finished talking and yelled at Sterling, "Sterling, are you coming or not?"

Sterling turned around, and Bella could see he was upset, with a hint of anger in his eyes.

Bella had no idea what Debra had said to Sterling, but he walked over, grabbed her, and started heading out.

She could feel the anger radiating from him, unsure of what Debra had done this time.

Sterling shoved Bella into the car, and they drove home in silence. Bella was disgusted by Mira, but she couldn't figure out why Sterling was suddenly so angry, and she didn't feel like asking.

When they got home, just as Bella was about to get out of the car, Sterling suddenly locked the doors. Bella tried to open the door but couldn't, glaring at Sterling, "What are you doing?"

With his hands on the steering wheel, Sterling tilted his head and asked, "What were you and James doing the day you had the car accident?"

Bella, who had been fuming all the way home, was taken aback by his question and snapped, "What do you mean? James was just telling me about their company being acquired, and we chatted for a bit. What's the big deal? Did Debra say something to you?"

Sterling said, "Tell me the truth, and I won't be mad. What were you and James doing in the car that day?"

Hearing Sterling's words, Bella's anger flared up. She coldly and harshly scolded him, "Sterling, what do you mean? Do you believe everything Debra says? Did she say I was having an affair with James in the car? Did she see it? Why do you believe everything she says? Can't you have your own judgment? If you really can't let go of Debra, then don't tell me you won't see her again. You're making me feel you're really hypocritical."

Sterling didn't get angry, he just said calmly, "Debra said you and James were in the car that day, so she accidentally hit you."

Bella didn't want to recall that painful day. It made her lose her child and almost her life.

Every time she thought about it, it hurt. But now Sterling was forcing her to relive that day.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she said, "Sterling, you're making me relive that day repeatedly. You all act like executioners, repeatedly piercing my heart. Do you think I don't feel pain? Do you think my heart is made of stone? You're all demons!"

She paused, then continued, "Since Debra has admitted to hitting me, why haven't you arrested her and avenged your child? She admitted it, what are you hesitating for? Why are you still protecting Debra? Are you doing it on purpose? Are you trying to break my heart again and again, forcing me to remember the child I lost?"

Sterling felt a sudden, suffocating pain in his chest from Bella's words. He tried to explain, "That's not what I meant. I just wanted to confirm."

Bella's anger rose, shouting, "Confirm what? Confirm if I slept with James? You won't be satisfied until I say I had a one-night stand and betrayed you, right? Sterling, can you stop being so cruel to me? You're all murderers. Open the door, I want to get out."

Seeing that Sterling didn't speak or unlock the car doors, Bella snapped, "Sterling, what do you want? Fine, let me ask you, do you like Debra? Why are you protecting her? Give me a reason, why? I just want to know why you're protecting her. Why did you help the Foster family on the day of my accident?"

"Fine, it's your money, you can help whoever you want, I don't care. But why did you help the Foster family on the day of my accident? Are you heartless? Can you give me an answer?"

Sterling looked at Bella, feeling a dull pain in his heart, "I don't like Debra. I helped her that day to make you angry because you were with James. I supported the Foster family and protected Debra, all to provoke your anger."

Bella felt like a lump was stuck in her chest, unable to dissipate.

She pointed at Sterling, "Get out of the car. You're a devil. You protected Debra's mistake for this ridiculous reason? You said everything was in the past, and now you're bringing it up again. Are you bewitched by Debra? Do you do everything she says? If she told you to die, would you die?"

Bella's words were harsh, but Sterling didn't refute them. It wasn't because of what Debra said, but because it involved Bella and James. That was why he lost his mind.

But he knew Bella was really angry this time, and he deserved to be scolded.

Sterling suddenly smiled, raised his hand to touch Bella's head, and said, "It's good that you're like this. You're willing to tell me what's on your mind, to express your thoughts. Not like before when I bullied you, and you always kept silent. Now that I'm bullying you, you're willing to open up and speak your mind. That's really good."

Bella said, "You're crazy." This was his usual trick. Every time they fought, Sterling would come to comfort her.

Bella felt like she had reacted like a cat with its fur standing on end. Thinking this way, she realized Sterling really wanted to soothe her, and this thought dissipated much of her anger.

She looked at Sterling and said, "I don't want to ruin the rare peace we've had. So don't bring up James again."

Sterling said, "Okay, there will be no one else between us from now on."

Bella snorted, "You better keep your word."

Sterling smiled and unlocked the car doors.

When they got back, the atmosphere was a bit tense. Zoey didn't know what was going on with them, but it seemed like they were starting to argue again after just a few days.

Zoey pulled Bella aside, looking anxious, "Mrs. Windsor, what's going on? It seems like you and Mr. Windsor are at odds again. You just made up a few days ago, can't the house have some peace?"

Bella found Zoey's constant talking amusing and reassured her, "Don't worry, we didn't fight. He just said something that made me angry, and I scolded him a bit."

Zoey looked at Bella with admiration and said, "Mrs. Windsor, you finally stood up for yourself. Before, when Mr. Windsor bullied you, you always kept silent, which was infuriating. This time you stood up to him, that's great. Keep it up, don't let Mr. Windsor bully you again."

Bella found it funny. Had she really been that weak before? When Sterling bullied her, was she really too afraid to speak up? It seemed like it was better to clear things up in the future.
