Chapter 209 Life and Death Rescue

Bella felt the same way, but as she spoke, tears streamed down her face. "Sterling, I'm sorry. I think I might lose the baby again this time. I'm so sorry."

Sterling's heart ached at Bella's words, but he remained calm and said, "Bella, don't think too much. You are the most important. Bella, I believe in you. You can protect yourself."

Encouraged by Sterling's words, Bella then said, "Anna, crash between the two cars, find a smaller gap, and wedge the car in."

Anna understood but had no confidence she could do it.

In her extreme nervousness, she couldn't think of anything else and could only grip the steering wheel tightly, staring at the car ahead.

Even more terrifying, she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. In the event of a crash, she would be the most vulnerable.

But now, Bella's and her own lives were in her hands. The car might explode at any moment, and they could all die together.

Bella was pregnant, and Owen might already be dead.

Anna was trembling uncontrollably with nervousness.

Bella immediately reminded her, "Anna, after the crash, the airbags will deploy, making it hard for us to get out. You must try to stay on the left side."

She continued, "If you can move, crawl out first, open the window quickly. If you can get out, drag Owen and me out. If you can't, run away immediately. Don't stay."

Hearing Bella's words, Anna couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She also heard a countdown sound, as if it was swirling around her ears.

Anna couldn't care about anything else. She closed her eyes, steeled her heart, and made up her mind. "Bella, check your seatbelt. I'm going to crash."

In the pouring rain of the evening, the abandoned, empty parking lot was filled with abandoned vehicles.

A conspicuous Maybach suddenly changed lanes and crashed between two abandoned cars with a loud bang.

The sound of the bomb and the alarm calls were instantly muffled by the airbags.

Bella didn't know what the car looked like after the crash, but it had stopped. The sound in her ears told her that the wheels were still spinning, either suspended or stuck.

Even worse was the pungent smell and the gradually rising temperature, making her realize that death was approaching bit by bit.

Even if Sterling could arrive within a minute, she and Anna's lives were hanging by seconds.

The most terrifying and worrisome thing happened: she couldn't move, her body was in severe pain, and fluids were continuously flowing out.

It wasn't just amniotic fluid; there was blood too.

Bella laughed bitterly, realizing how fragile life was. It seemed God still wouldn't let her keep this child.

Bella's consciousness was a bit fuzzy. She regretted not being able to see Sterling one last time. They had wasted two months, no, maybe even longer.

Every argument they had was a waste of time. This time, she thought she could resolve all misunderstandings with Sterling, but she didn't expect life to be so fragile.

Suddenly, she heard Anna's shout, followed by the sound of the car door being kicked open, and then rainwater poured in.

Bella barely opened her eyes, adjusted her body and head position, and then felt a hand grab her. "Bella, I'll pull you out. Use your strength."

Bella felt like she saw a ray of light in the abyss. Her survival instinct made her use all her strength towards Anna.

However, in the next second, she heard the clear sound of the bomb's countdown, and her fear deepened.

Bella couldn't help but say, "Anna, you go first. Don't worry about me."

Anna wiped the rain off her face. "Go where? I'm not leaving."

Anna forcefully dragged Bella out. Her starry sky bracelet suddenly broke and fell into the car. She wanted to pick it up but couldn't.

Half of Bella's body was already outside the car, with blood on her forehead.

Anna was the same, with clear blood droplets on her forehead, but she still held Bella's hand tightly.

"Bella, don't think about useless things. I won't leave you. Trust me, I'll get you out."

Hearing Anna's words, Bella gritted her teeth and held Anna's hand tightly.

No matter how much pain she felt, she kept moving her body out.

She used all her strength to finally free her other hand, and the rain instantly blurred their vision.

Reality and dreams were indistinguishable. In the next second, Anna grabbed her other arm.

"Bella, stop protecting your belly. Crawl out. The baby is important, but not as important as you. If you die, there's nothing left. There will be other babies. You are the most important."

Anna shouted anxiously, and Bella felt heartbroken. Protecting her belly was her instinct. She couldn't keep her first child, and she didn't want to give up on this second one.

But now, listening to Anna, she had to harden her heart and stop worrying about her abdomen.

She had to crawl out first, constantly murmuring in her heart, 'Baby, be strong. Mommy needs to get out so we can live together. Baby, you must be strong. Trust Mommy.'

Anna exerted a fierce force and pulled Bella out. The rain poured down, and Bella lay on the ground, with a pool of red beneath her.

She could see the car wheels still smoking, and two passersby suddenly ran over from a distance.

They struggled to pull them up, and Anna shouted, "There's a bomb in the car."

Anna then begged the passersby to take Bella away first. The passersby were scared and helped Bella run towards the gate.

Bella had no strength left. Leaning on the passersby, she could only see the flowing rainwater and the continuous red.

She wanted to call out to Anna but found she couldn't make a sound.

Soon, she barely opened her eyes and heard the sound of police cars.

In a daze, she seemed to see Sterling's car arriving. Sterling got out and ran towards her with a group of medical personnel.

Within seconds, her vision went black, and with a loud bang, a massive explosion's shockwave hit from behind.

Soon, the Harborvale evening news reported: "A car explosion occurred in an abandoned parking lot, fortunately with no casualties."

At this time, in Mandalay Apartments.

A man with gold-rimmed glasses watched the news, his face twisted with tension.

"Why did it happen early? Atticus got himself injured, but why did the other car explode early too? Go, find out who was in the car."

The man with gold-rimmed glasses was none other than Caleb. He was so angry he could grind his teeth. He waved his hand to send his men out.
