Chapter 249 Interrupted Ambiguity
Anna's heart pounded as she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. They were so close she could smell his cologne with every inhale.
Anna cursed under her breath.
"What do you want?" she asked, not bothering to hide her irritation.
"I want to kiss you." He had gone to great lengths to get her back here tonight, and it seemed this was the reason.
He had wanted to do it the moment she stepped through the villa door.
He was done with her entanglement with Caleb.
Anna was momentarily speechless. "Then let go, lie down, and dream about it. You can kiss me in your dreams."
"Why dream when I can kiss the real you right now?" Colin's smile didn't waver.
"If you're not afraid of dying, go ahead." Anna felt she should resist, but a part of her secretly hoped he would actually kiss her.
Colin tightened his arms around her, pulling her completely into his embrace.
He brushed his face against hers, his voice low and seductive. "Don't you want to kiss me?"
Anna didn't know how their conversation had turned so intimate. The alcohol was affecting both of them. She tried to steady her breathing, but her rapid heartbeat betrayed her nervousness.
Suddenly, Colin quickly kissed her cheek.
While she was still in shock, Colin grabbed her waist with one hand and her wrist with the other, pulling her down onto him.
She found herself lying on top of him, their eyes locked. He kissed her chin.
Anna's mind was a mess. She instinctively wanted to hit him to cover her embarrassment.
In their struggle, they clung to each other, neither willing to let go.
Anna was sweating, her cheeks growing hotter. She felt Colin's fingers gently caressing the back of her neck, making her scalp tingle. She tried to get up but found her limbs weak.
Their noses touched, and as Anna tried to push herself up, Colin flipped her over, pinning her beneath him.
Anna instinctively closed her eyes, but she didn't feel the pressure she expected.
Her lips moved slightly, but instead of kissing her, he buried his face in her neck, his breath teasing her ear. "Anna, I want to kiss you, just once."
Anna's mind was foggy. She thought, 'If you want to kiss me, just do it. Why ask?'
She slowly opened her eyes, meeting his deep, ocean-like gaze. Her clear mind seemed to drown in it, unable to resist.
Anna's eyes flickered, her mouth opened slightly, and her evasive gaze silently gave him a half-hearted signal.
Colin's Adam's apple bobbed with excitement. He gently cupped her face and kissed her.
Anna closed her eyes, deciding to indulge just this once.
A cheerful ringtone broke the tension in the dark room, halting everything on the couch.
Colin propped himself up, meeting Anna's embarrassed gaze, feeling utterly frustrated.
Anna quickly pushed him away and grabbed her phone from the couch. It was Caleb calling.
Without hesitation, Anna answered the call in front of Colin.
"I already ate out. No, just with a friend. You want to meet? It's so late, I'm already in bed. How about tomorrow? Okay, talk to you then."
After hanging up, Anna noticed Colin's cold expression. The earlier intimacy had vanished.
Anna abruptly stood up and fled to her room. Tonight had been one of her rare moments of recklessness. She couldn't believe how easily she had lied to Caleb.
Anna felt terrible.
Colin, too, couldn't sleep all night.
Meanwhile, things were much cozier between Sterling and Bella.
Bella was excited about their upcoming trip to Oakridge and spent the entire evening planning.
She kept asking Sterling questions, interrupting him as he tried to work in his study.
Finally, he gave up on his work and pulled Bella onto his lap.
"Let me see what you're planning that's got you so excited," Sterling said, taking her notes.
He saw her detailed plans for things to do and eat in Oakridge, and couldn't help but laugh.
"Are you planning to move to Oakridge and never come back?" Sterling asked, amused.
Bella looked at him seriously. "Didn't you say I could stay there as long as I wanted if I liked it?"
Sterling's face darkened at her words. He looked into her eyes, feeling a sudden unease.
"Bella, are you really not planning to come back? Or are you not planning to come back to me?"
Bella shook her head. "You misunderstood. I meant I like it there. You can stay with me."
Sterling laughed. "Me, live in Oakridge? Let's not talk about unrealistic things."
Bella thought for a moment and realized he was right.
With the Windsor family's vast business, how could he leave the Windsor Group to live in a small town like Oakridge?
But Bella didn't stay disappointed for long. "If I like it, I can stay there for a while. You promised me that."
Sterling had no choice but to agree. "Alright, since I said it, I won't go back on my word."
Bella happily kissed him on the cheek. She tried to get off his lap, but Sterling held her in place and kissed her deeply.
Sterling kissed her until they were both breathless, then said in a husky voice, "That's what a real kiss is."
Bella blushed. "You're so improper."
Sterling blew gently on her neck, teasing her. "You think that's improper? There's more where that came from."
With that, Sterling scooped her up, tossed her plans onto the desk, and carried her to the bedroom.
Sterling gently laid Bella on the bed. They had both showered earlier. "Bella, is this okay?"
Bella wanted to roll her eyes. They were already at this point, and he was still asking. Trying to act all gentlemanly.
Sterling was a bit scared. Bella had had two pregnancies that nearly cost her her life. He didn't want to risk her health again, even with precautions.
It wasn't that he didn't want to; he was just afraid for Bella's health. Tonight, Bella had been the one to seduce him.
Underneath him, Bella trembled. Sterling gently stroked her face and asked again, "Bella, is this okay?"
