Chapter 279 Let Me Love You

Anna was sobbing uncontrollably in Bella's arms, and Bella could only cry along with her.

Finally, Anna couldn't hold it in any longer and said, "I need to go to the bathroom." She clutched her stomach and wobbled to her feet, looking pretty wasted.

Bella shook her head. "I'll go with you."

"No need," Anna said, pressing down on Bella's shoulder.

"Just be careful and come back soon," Bella said, seeing that the bathroom wasn't far away. She decided to give Anna some space.

Anna staggered into the bathroom. The pounding music and flashing lights were amplifying her emotions.

People came here either to vent or to seek thrills, and she was clearly in the former category.

As she came out of the bathroom, she was shaking her wet hands dry and accidentally bumped into someone. She instinctively wiped her hands on the person's chest, a move that looked almost like a caress.

She had been to places like this often enough to know, even when drunk, whether she had bumped into a man or a woman. If it was a man, she would flirt a little to avoid conflict.

But just as Anna was about to turn and leave, someone grabbed her wrist. She turned around, her smile seductive. "What? Want me to apologize?"

The man's face was dark, his eyes sharp as he stared at Anna. "How much have you had to drink?"

Anna thought the voice sounded familiar. She looked up and was stunned to see it was Colin.

Images of Colin being shot in the shoulder on a rainy night flashed through her mind. She hurriedly tried to pull at his clothes. "Shouldn't you be in the hospital? What are you doing here?"

Anna's mind cleared a bit. Colin's face was pale, and he said harshly, "You know I was hurt? You didn't even come to see me, and now you're here getting drunk. You're something else."

Anna's face turned cold. "Oh, so it's okay for you to lie to me, but I can't drink?"

Colin sighed. When he heard from his men that Anna was at the bar drinking and had ordered a bunch of male models, he had angrily gotten out of his hospital bed and come straight here.

Despite the pain in his shoulder, Colin had sat in a nearby booth, watching her and Bella cry together.

"Fine, I was wrong. I apologize. Don't be mad. Caleb is a jerk. He's not worth your tears. A boyfriend like that deserves to die a hundred times over."

Anna forced herself to stay calm. "So what? You guys lied to me just like he did. What's the difference? Move. Bella is waiting for me in the booth. I'm going back."

Anna tried to walk away coldly.

But Colin didn't let her go. He pulled her to a secluded stairwell. His tone was reproachful. "It's one thing for you to come here, but you brought Bella? What if Sterling finds out? Did you two come alone?"

Anna tried to push him away. "Yes, just the two of us. Bella probably hasn't been to a place like this much since she's been with Sterling. She deserves to experience some fun in life, doesn't she? Are you here to lecture me? I'm not listening. Get out of my way!"

Seeing that she was quite drunk, Colin didn't argue with her. Instead, he tried to persuade her. "Stop drinking. I'll take you both home."

Anna squinted at him, defiant. "Who are you to tell me what to do? I'm not going home!"

He frowned, his handsome features looking even more defined under the white light, casting a shadow. "Is it worth getting drunk over someone like Caleb? Wake up, Anna."

Hearing Caleb's name, Anna grabbed Colin's collar, her emotions flaring. "Are you trying to upset me? Do you have to mention him? Do you know what it's like to have someone propose to you in the morning and then threaten you with a gun at night? Do you know what it's like to find out your boyfriend of three years is the one who killed your whole family?"

Anna screamed hysterically, and Colin stood straight, letting her hold onto him.

Pain flickered in Colin's eyes. He reached out and hugged Anna. "I'm sorry. He's a scumbag, not worth mentioning. Anna, let me take care of you. Let me love you."

Despite her drunkenness, Anna could still hear what he was saying. She didn't dare look up at him, her anger unabated. "You said you wouldn't get married."

But Colin had lost his reason. He suddenly pushed Anna against the wall and kissed her passionately.

He had been at the bar for a while and had drunk quite a bit. Whether it was the alcohol or primal impulse, he just wanted to do this.

This kiss was not like the last time, where he had stopped quickly. He invaded her mouth deeply, his skilled kissing making her retreat step by step.

Anna knew this was wrong and tried to push him away, but gradually lost her strength, her resistance turning into hands pressed against his chest.

People passing by glanced at the kissing couple but showed no surprise.

In a place like this, such behavior was common. The bathroom stalls often echoed with various sounds, and people were used to it.

After what felt like an eternity, Colin finally let go of Anna.

She gasped for air, nervously clutching the hem of her short skirt, her eyes full of panic. "Are you crazy? Do you know what you're doing?"

Colin braced one hand against the wall and held Anna's chin with the other, forcing her to look at him, trapping her between his body and the wall.

His gaze was firm and intense. "Of course I know. I've wanted to do this for a long time, and not just this."

Anna felt helpless. She knew she was no match for Colin. Her antics in places like this were just superficial games, while he was a seasoned player, having experienced all kinds of thrills.

She was extremely embarrassed and just wanted to escape his grip. "You jerk! Let me go! Bella is waiting for me!"

Colin's lips curled into an amused smile. He didn't seem in a hurry to end the game. "I know she's waiting for you. If she weren't, who knows how far this would have gone. Go on, I'll watch you go back. Call me when you're ready to go home. I'll be in the booth on the second floor."

With that, Colin released her and stepped aside, giving Anna a way out.

She seized the opportunity to break free, quickly straightening her disheveled clothes and calming herself before hurrying back to the booth.

Colin stood there, watching her retreating figure, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

Anna returned to the booth as if fleeing from danger, her heart pounding as if it would burst from her chest.
