Chapter 274 Confrontation in the Rain

The situation was dire. Caleb was trapped inside and outside Windsor Villa by Sterling's men. His own crew had been blocked, so his only way out was to take Bella hostage.

"Didn't you just propose to Anna yesterday? And now you're pointing a gun at her best friend?"

"Shut up!" Caleb pressed the gun harder against Bella's head. "Don't you dare use Anna to threaten me."

Bella sneered, "Threaten you? We've never used Anna to threaten you. You're a scumbag, not worth sacrificing my friend for. She came to Oakridge to get away from you, but you still won't leave her alone."

Caleb didn't let go. Instead, he pressed the gun even harder against her head and moved step by step towards Sterling.

Bella glanced at Sterling, who was holding a large black umbrella, his knuckles prominent, giving off a warm texture in the night.

Sterling's hand showed faint veins, looking both forceful and relaxed. His voice was as calm as ever, "Let her go!"

"No." Tobias shouted, "If we let her go, none of us will survive."

"Let her go."

Suddenly, a female voice came from behind everyone. Without turning around, Bella and Caleb knew who it was.

Anna had finally found the right place and ran over. She didn't know how to describe the scene before her; it felt like a dream.

When she saw Caleb holding Bella at gunpoint, she even slapped herself.

It hurt, it hurt a lot. It wasn't a dream.

"Anna, what are you doing here? Didn't we tell you not to come out? Go back!" Colin suddenly roared.

Anna walked step by step, but as she passed by Derek, Derek suddenly snatched the short knife from Tobias's hand and grabbed Anna by the neck.

This action shocked everyone.

Derek held the knife to Anna's neck.

"Anna!" Bella exclaimed.

"Bastard, let her go!" Colin shouted angrily, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Derek.

Derek knew he had taken the right hostage. He hadn't expected Anna to be so important to them.

Derek laughed, "Looks like we have the upper hand tonight, right, Sterling?"

Now the situation was Caleb holding Bella at gunpoint, Derek holding Anna at knifepoint, and they were facing off in the rain.

But Anna seemed unfazed, not showing any panic from being held hostage. She just stared at Caleb, tears mixing with the rain and falling silently.

"Why? Can anyone tell me what's going on?" Anna murmured.

When Caleb saw Anna appear, he knew everything between him and Anna was irreparable.

He had carefully hidden himself, but now everything was about to be destroyed on this rainy night.

But now, without taking them hostage, he couldn't leave the Windsor Villa. He had to make up his mind and said to Derek, "Don't hurt her. If you dare harm a hair on her head, I'll make you pay with your life."

Derek was confused, "Whose woman is this? Whose woman? Caleb, get a grip. Don't be foolish over a woman. We're at a life-and-death moment, and you're still worried about this woman? Do you believe I'll kill her right now?"

After all, he was already a fugitive and didn't fear adding another life to his record.

Caleb said sternly, "If you lay a finger on her, we'll all go down together. No one gets out alive."

This successfully scared Derek, who could only shut up but didn't remove the knife from Anna's neck.

Bella looked at Anna with worry.

Anna felt like her world was collapsing. Seeing Caleb not answering her, she turned to Bella, "Bella, can you tell me what's going on? Why?"

Bella, also crying, looked at her. Anna then turned to Colin, "Colin, tell me, what are you doing? Is this some kind of sick joke? Or a game?"

Anna didn't want to accept the scene before her.

Colin pointed the gun at Derek, his eyes revealing his pain and tension. He could only say, "Anna, haven't you always wanted to know the truth about the Powell family's bankruptcy? Now you can ask him."

Colin moved the gun towards Caleb. Anna looked at Caleb, "What does he mean?"

Caleb's eyes also showed pain, "Anna, believe me, I'll explain everything once I get out, okay?"

"Get out? Do you think anyone can get out like this?" Anna laughed bitterly, tears flowing into her mouth.

It was bitter!

Caleb knew they were at the end of their rope, so he could only hold onto Bella. He glanced at Anna and said, "We can let them go, but you have to let us go too."

Sterling's tone was terrifyingly calm, "How do you expect me to let you go? Arrange a car to take you away?"

Tobias instinctively nodded, but Caleb's gaze fixed on Derek, "No, not that. The Windsor family's entire foundation is here. If I'm caught, the news of the Windsor family's involvement in drug trafficking will spread worldwide. But if you let me go, the Windsor family will be fine."

Sterling said, "You mean you want me to pretend nothing happened? Let you leave, pretend tonight never happened, pretend you're all good people? Do you think without police or third parties present, this happening in the Windsor Villa can be covered up?"

Caleb's idea was truly naive and amusing.

Tobias breathed heavily, "Sterling, you're the head of the Windsor family. If the Windsor family is involved in drug trafficking, you'll be held responsible. Do you really want the Windsor family to fall?"

Sterling took a step forward, the umbrella lifting slightly to reveal his gentle yet now cold eyes, "Isn't it you who wants the Windsor family to fall? Knowing that drug trafficking would lead the Windsor family to ruin, you still did it. You listened to this bastard, and now you're threatening me with him. You're truly laughable. You don't deserve to talk about the Windsor family's fall; you don't deserve to be part of the Windsor family."

But Sterling glanced at Bella and immediately said, "I can let you go."

Sterling's words gave Caleb and Tobias hope.

Tobias didn't want to risk it, "I need proof."

Sterling nodded, "What, you want me to write a guarantee?"

Caleb knew Sterling wasn't easy to deal with and didn't dare trust him lightly. He glared at Tobias and answered for him, "We don't need a guarantee. I want you to leave something as collateral, then I'll believe you."

Sterling slowly stepped forward, "What do you want?"
