Chapter 421 Dessert with Extra Ingredients

Isadora glanced at Bella, a flicker of doubt in her eyes. She knew Bella too well; despite her gentle exterior, Bella was tough as nails. "You didn't mess with the dessert, did you?" she asked, half-joking.

Bella's lips curled into a sly smile. She shrugged nonchalantly. "Nah, just a shaky hand. Maybe I overdid it with something, so it might taste a bit off."

Isadora and Serafina exchanged a knowing look, their worries melting away. They knew Bella wouldn't confront people head-on, but she had her own subtle ways of handling things.

Across the street, in the towering office building, Sterling watched through the floor-to-ceiling window as Sable returned with the dessert. His eyes darkened at the sight, a mix of emotions stirring within him.

Sterling knew Bella well; she was a woman of strong principles. Normally, she wouldn't sell desserts to them.

Sable strolled over to Sterling's desk, carefully unwrapping and arranging the dessert. She wore a gentle smile, as if nothing unusual had happened.

"Give it a try," Sable said softly, a hint of anticipation in her voice.

But Sterling didn't budge. "Not interested," he replied coldly.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Sable's face, but she quickly composed herself. "Why not? Mrs. Windsor made it herself. She probably felt bad about not selling to us, so she made it despite her discomfort. You should try it; it might be good."

Irritated, Sterling picked up a small spoon and took a bite. Instantly, his taste buds were hit with a familiar yet unique flavor.

He knew this taste all too well! It reminded him of the time at The Windsor Villa when he had to go to the hospital after eating Bella's dessert.

But this dessert looked normal; why did it taste so similar to the ones before?

As Sterling realized the reason, he slowly swallowed the dessert. His mood inexplicably lifted. Bella hadn't really let go; she still cared, expressing her dissatisfaction in her own unique way.

Thinking of this, Sterling's lips curled into a smile.

Sable watched the changes in Sterling's expression, from irritation to a smile, feeling puzzled. Curiosity got the better of her, and she tasted the other dessert. As soon as it hit her tongue, she spat it out. "It's awful!"

Seeing this, Sterling's smile widened. "Not a single bite left."

Sable's face turned pale. She looked at the dessert in her hand, her expression full of reluctance.

She couldn't understand why Sterling liked eating such terrible things, nor why he insisted she eat them too.

But faced with Sterling's insistence, Sable could only reluctantly agree, "Alright."

From that day on, every afternoon, Sterling had Sable go to the dessert shop to buy desserts. Bella kept selling them, but each time the flavors were bizarre—sometimes overly sweet, sometimes unbearably bitter. No matter how they tasted, Sterling always finished every bite, as if he were savoring this unique "punishment."

Following Sterling's orders every day, forced to taste those strange desserts, Sable finally couldn't take it anymore. When she went to buy desserts again, she mustered the courage to make a request to Bella. "Can you stop 'adding extras'? I've lost several pounds and my gastritis is acting up."

Bella heard Sable's complaint and a subtle smile appeared on her face. She glanced at Isadora, who couldn't help but laugh but quickly stopped, knowing it was a private matter.

Bella put away her smile and said seriously to Sable, "Actually, I didn't intentionally add anything. It's just that my mood affects the taste of the desserts when I make them. You know, Sterling and I have a complicated relationship."

Sable's face showed understanding. She nodded and said, "I get it. I just hope the desserts can go back to their normal taste. I'm not him; I can't handle these 'special' flavors."

From the beginning, Bella had never actively mentioned Sterling's scandals. This made Sable curious and more certain that Bella was reacting to Sterling's scandals in this way.

So, Sable couldn't help but ask, "You saw the news, right? Is that why you're doing this?"

Bella lowered her eyes, and when she looked up again, her face was calm. "If I remember correctly, you told me you were married, right? So, now you're divorced? Trying to get with Sterling?"

Bella's words were like a sharp knife, hitting Sable's sore spot. Sable's face turned pale; she hadn't expected Bella to directly mention her marital status.

But Bella didn't give her a chance to speak. "So what if you saw the scandal? What are you trying to say? If you want to be with him, have him divorce me soon, so you don't have to be a mistress. It's not a good reputation. It would be better for both of us." Bella's tone was calm and firm, but each word was like a heavy hammer, striking Sable's heart.

Sable felt a surge of anger. She had indeed fallen deeply for Sterling's charm, unable to extricate herself. She played the role of Sterling's lover, enjoying the attention and care, already too deep into the act.

Bella's words were like a reminder that it was all an illusion; she was just a mistress interfering in someone else's marriage.

"This is my private matter, none of your business," Sable responded, trying to stay calm, but her voice trembled. "If you're unhappy, just say it."

Bella smiled slightly, but there was a hint of bitterness in her smile. "I'm not unhappy. My feelings for him can't be summed up with a simple love or not love."

Sable turned to leave in anger, but after a few steps, she stopped and turned back, her face showing a mix of resentment and anger. "If you don't love him and chose to leave, then stop stringing him along. Cut it clean, isn't that better? No more delays, each of us moving on."
