Chapter 175 Boss
Seeing Sterling, his face turned even more panicked, and he was at a complete loss. Ollie and Elijah were clearly intimidated by Sterling's presence as well.
Sterling's arrival was like that of a king, exuding a regal aura that instantly overpowered them.
Everyone in the Hughes family was pinned to the ground by Sterling's bodyguards, unable to move.
Sterling looked down at them and said, "You pathetic Hughes actually think you can cozy up to the Windsor family? I warn you, don't mess with Micah again, or next time, it won't just be bodyguards coming."
Sterling waved his hand and said, "Since you hit my friend, you have to pay the price."
As soon as Sterling finished speaking, three bodyguards dragged Ollie and Elijah out and beat them mercilessly while their wives screamed in terror.
The living room looked like a disaster scene, with everything that could be smashed, smashed.
Micah watched coldly as Ollie and Elijah were beaten until they were barely breathing, then he said, "That's enough, let's go."
Sterling then waved for the bodyguards to stop. As everyone left the Hughes Mansion, Sterling naturally took Bella with him.
Sterling wanted to take them to the hospital, but Micah and Colin insisted on not going.
"Why go to the hospital for such minor injuries? It's embarrassing," Micah and Colin said in unison.
So everyone went to Colin's villa in Whitewater Bay.
On the way, Anna had calmed down and sat silently in the car. Bella was with Sterling, so she didn't want to disturb them and sat in Colin's Cullinan instead.
After arriving at Whitewater Bay, Anna first treated Micah's facial and mouth injuries, then reluctantly went to help Colin with his wounds.
Micah and Sterling were discussing the aftermath with the Hughes family.
Micah said worriedly, "We made a big scene at the Hughes Mansion today. Given the Hughes family's way of doing things, I'm afraid it will cause trouble for you."
Sterling lit a cigarette but then remembered Bella was there, so he put it out.
"Let them do whatever they want. As long as you're prepared, it's fine," Sterling said, not concerned about the Hughes family causing trouble for him in the business world. He wasn't afraid of a small family like the Hughes.
Micah's eyes were filled with gratitude as he said seriously, "I really have to thank you this time, Sterling, sincerely."
Sterling remained calm and gentle, "No need, I'm your boss, after all."
Sterling then stood up, brushed off nonexistent ash from his clothes, and smiled faintly.
Micah was taken aback, then smiled as well, "Yes, boss."
Micah felt warm inside. The pain and lack of family affection he had suffered from the Hughes family were compensated for by God in another way.
Bella and Anna were treating Colin's wounds when Sterling walked over and put his arm around Bella.
"We should go."
Bella saw that Micah didn't seem downcast and felt relieved. She had thought that causing a scene at the Hughes Mansion would upset Micah, but it turned out she was overthinking it.
After all, the Hughes family was the one at fault, so Micah couldn't be blamed.
Anna didn't notice that Bella had already left with Sterling. By the time she realized it, Bella was already in Sterling's Maybach.
Colin, in pain from Anna's cotton swab, said, "Can you be gentler? If you keep poking me like this, it'll be worse than the beating."
Anna wanted to roll her eyes, "It's just a minor injury; you won't die."
Colin said, "Are you even a woman? Can you be a bit more gentle?"
Seeing that he was really in pain, Anna lightened her touch and said, "That's what you get for impulsively fighting. How did you not get beaten to death? You and Micah are both grown men, yet you're still fighting?"
Realizing her words were inappropriate, Anna immediately shut up but continued bandaging Colin's wounds.
Colin smirked, "Was that a fight? I was helping my friend. If I hadn't gone, Micah would have been bullied by his two brothers."
But Ollie and Elijah were now worse off than them and would probably be in the hospital for at least half a month.
Anna didn't say anything. The villa was now empty except for them. Colin looked at Anna's close-up face and suddenly felt a bit parched.
After swallowing a few times, he finally said, "Anna, why did you shield me from that knife at the Hughes Mansion?"
Anna's hand paused slightly. She knew she couldn't avoid this.
Feigning calm, Anna put away the medical kit and said without looking up, "It's nothing, just didn't want my boss to get hurt."
Colin knew she was lying but didn't call her out. He just went along with her, "Is that really it? Just because I'm your boss?"
Anna said, "What else?"
Colin casually said, "Nothing, I just thought you might have feelings for me since you shielded me."
Anna felt like a string in her mind snapped, barely maintaining her composure.
"Colin, if you can't say anything nice, just shut up. I saw you shield Micah too; do you have feelings for him as well?"
Colin was momentarily speechless, not expecting Anna to use his words against him.
Anna didn't say anything more. In truth, she hadn't even figured out why she had impulsively shielded him.
If it happened again, Anna thought she probably wouldn't have the courage to do it. After all, she valued her life.
As Anna turned to leave, Colin suddenly grabbed her from behind and said, "Anna, no matter what, you saved my life. What do you want me to do? Just say it."
Anna turned and interrupted him, "No, this isn't a life-saving favor. Can we just move past this?"
Colin thought for a moment and said, "Okay, we won't talk about it. But about what I said before, about getting married."
Anna quickly interrupted him, "Colin, how many times do I have to say it? Let's not talk about this anymore, or we might not even be friends."
Hearing Anna's words, Colin suppressed his feelings. He couldn't say anything more and just nodded, "Okay."
Anna said nothing more and quickly left the villa, hoping never to return.
Colin watched her retreating figure and smiled bitterly. The words he hadn't said might never have a chance to be spoken.
