Chapter 394 The Foster Family Father and Daughter Offline

Hearing Debra spit out "bitch" again, Owen's eyes turned icy cold.

Owen shot Debra a furious glare, then signaled to the bodyguards holding her down. They immediately understood and delivered two hard slaps to Debra's face.

Debra screamed twice, clutching her cheeks, her eyes filled with terror and pain. She didn't dare say another word, just silently cried, her body trembling with fear.

Dash watched his daughter being treated this way, feeling as if a knife was twisting in his heart. He gritted his teeth and mustered the courage to speak to Owen, "Stop hitting her! I'll take the blame, okay? I'll go to jail, just let Debra go! She's still young, her life can't be ruined like this!"

However, Owen was unmoved by his plea. He looked at Dash coldly, his tone carrying an undeniable authority, "Do you think you get to decide anything? Both of you will pay for your actions. Debra was involved in this too, she must take responsibility."

Dash's face turned even paler at these words. He knew he was powerless to change anything and could only watch helplessly as he and his daughter were dragged into the abyss.

Owen's expression remained indifferent, "Mr. Windsor made it very clear, both of you are responsible for this. Mr. Foster, your charges include hiring people to destroy property and intimidation. These are serious, but you won't get a long sentence. As for your daughter, she intentionally caused a miscarriage, leading to permanent infertility. That's a major crime, and I don't know how the court will rule."

Dash's face grew even more ashen. He shouted in desperation, "Wasn't Sterling involved in covering this up too? Why are we the only ones taking the fall now?"

Owen just gave him a cold, disdainful look, "Do you think you can threaten Mr. Windsor? Do you think he would risk anything for you two? Let me tell you, stop dreaming. Mr. Windsor has made his decision, you must pay for your actions."

"Mr. Windsor was merciful before, considering Debra's slight blood relation to Mrs. Windsor, he didn't make you disappear outright. But don't forget, Mrs. Windsor is the victim here. Your five minutes are up, do you choose to go to the police station or settle this here?"

Debra, having lost all courage to resist, quickly answered, "We'll go to the police station! We'll turn ourselves in! Please, give us a chance to make things right."

Dash, though unwilling, saw his daughter's fear and had no choice but to accept reality. He knew their only way out now was to turn themselves in and hope for leniency.

The bodyguards immediately began escorting Dash and Debra to the police station. Before they left, Owen warned them again, "At the station, you better tell the truth and don't try any tricks. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences."

Dash and Debra nodded repeatedly, promising to confess everything. They knew that any attempt to lie or hide the truth would be futile, and only a full confession could give them a sliver of hope.

Debra was secretly calculating. Compared to the unknown, possibly more terrifying consequences, she preferred facing the law. At least there, she could seek help from her mother, Mira. Despite their strained relationship, she believed that as her mother, Mira wouldn't let her life be completely ruined.

More importantly, Mira had also been involved in covering up her actions. If Mira refused to help, Debra wouldn't hesitate to expose everything. Mira wouldn't escape unscathed either; she would face her own punishment.

With this thought, a determined look flashed in Debra's eyes. She knew she was walking a tightrope, one misstep and she would be doomed. But she had no choice but to press forward.

Owen held the phone close to his ear, his steady voice clearly transmitting to the other end, "Mr. Windsor, I've followed your instructions and safely sent the father and daughter to the police station. They've been cooperative so far, but I'm concerned they might seek help from Mira, who could then appeal to Mrs. Windsor."

Owen voiced his concerns.

Sterling's voice came through the phone, firm and unwavering, "Good, Owen. So, I need you to ensure they have no chance to contact Mira before they officially enter prison. Monitor all their communications, whether by phone, internet, or any other means. No leniency."

Owen responded, "Yes, Mr. Windsor. I'll personally arrange it."

In the interrogation room at the police station, Debra was being watched sternly by two officers. She sat on a cold metal chair, her hands clenched tightly, her eyes filled with anxiety and unease. Seeing the bodyguards kept outside, a glimmer of hope rose in her heart, thinking she might use this chance to seek outside help.

"Officer, can I make a phone call?" Debra asked tentatively, her voice trembling slightly.

The officer shook his head, his tone firm and cold, "You're now in legal custody, all communications are strictly limited. Do you understand? No one can save you, and any attempt to evade or lessen your charges will only lead to more severe consequences."

Debra's face turned even paler. She had thought that with her family's background and connections, she could at least buy some time, but now it seemed all her hopes were dashed.

"But... I..." Debra tried to argue, but the officer cut her off.

"No buts. What you need to do now is confess your crimes honestly and cooperate with our investigation. If you don't want to spend three to five years in prison, worse consequences await you. Understand?"

Debra fell silent, realizing that nothing she said would make a difference. She understood what the officer meant.

But she was unwilling to accept it.

Debra's shoulders slumped, her whole body seemed to lose all support, like a deflated balloon, sinking into the depths of despair. Her eyes were empty and confused, muttering to herself, questioning and not understanding Sterling.

"Sterling, are you really this cruel? For Bella, for a woman who doesn't even love you, you treat me like this. What do I lack compared to her? What do I lack compared to her?"
