Chapter 378 Ending Abstinence
Anna's lips trembled, her voice barely a whisper, yet filled with deep pleading, "Please, don't make me do this. I'm begging you."
Her tone was laden with helplessness and despair, each word seemed to be squeezed out from the depths of her heart, carrying an indescribable pain.
She couldn't bring herself to reveal her inner fears and that unbearable past, because it was too dirty, too shameful. She feared that once she spoke, it would completely destroy the hard-won bond between them.
Anna couldn't help but mind her past; the self-loathing and guilt were like heavy shackles, preventing her from breaking free and facing Colin's deep affection with ease.
Hearing her plea, Colin felt a surge of intense pain in his heart. He held her hand tightly, looking at her with a determined gaze, trying to convey strength and courage through his eyes.
He gently but firmly told her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. I can't change your past, but I will protect your future with everything I have. Trust me, and trust yourself."
Anna couldn't bring herself to look at him; the deep affection in his eyes made her feel unworthy of him.
Colin gazed deeply at Anna, his eyes full of tenderness, as if he could see into every corner of her heart. He cupped her face, gently pressing his forehead against hers, and in a soft yet firm voice, he reassured her.
"Look at me, I'm Colin, the one who will always be by your side, shielding you from the storm. Those small setbacks, that unbearable past, they can't defeat the strong you. Trust me, and trust yourself. No one cares about those things that are already in the past."
His voice was low and magnetic, each word seemed to carry a magical power, trying to soothe her wounds and dispel the darkness in her heart. He held her hand tightly, as if trying to pass on endless courage and strength to her.
"It's all in the past, Anna. Now you're with me, I'm your man, and I love you. I will protect you with everything I have, and I won't let you get hurt again. Look at me, tell me, do you trust me, and are you willing to walk out of this darkness with me?"
Colin's words were like warm sunlight, piercing through the darkness in her heart, making her feel an unprecedented warmth and sense of security.
Anna's tears finally fell, and she hugged Colin tightly, burying her head in his chest, feeling the deep love and strength from him.
In Colin's embrace, she finally let go of her fear and defenses, allowing herself to truly relax.
Anna was inexperienced in matters of love, and facing a man as experienced as Colin, she was almost defenseless. Colin, with his gentleness and skill, gradually erased the shadows left in her heart by that nightmarish experience.
Under his guidance, she gradually realized that such things didn't always come with pain, but could be a blend of physical and emotional pleasure and enjoyment.
After months of abstinence, Colin was filled with anticipation for this moment. He no longer restrained himself, and they spent almost the entire afternoon in the hotel room, as if the whole world had shrunk to just the two of them.
Colin did everything he could to care for and satisfy Anna, and under his gentle advances, she gradually let go of her defenses and unease.
In countless moments of intimacy, Colin made her promise never to mention breaking up again, and Anna felt as if she had died a thousand times over.
By around seven in the evening, the sky had darkened, and the streetlights began to cast a soft, warm glow, wrapping the city in a cozy blanket.
Anna couldn't help but voice her hunger, and only then did Colin let her go, tidying up before taking her out for dinner.
As soon as they stepped out, they ran into Gia, who was also about to leave. Gia wore a simple yet stylish dress, her face showing a hint of coldness, and her eyes seemed to hold some emotion.
Seeing the two walking side by side, Gia's lips turned down slightly, her tone carrying a hint of rudeness and coldness as she spoke, "I'm going out for dinner, are you coming?"
The emphasis on "you" was not lost on Anna. She glanced at Colin, trying to gauge his reaction. He looked a bit awkward, his gaze shifting between Gia and Anna, searching for an appropriate response.
After a moment, Colin stepped forward, smiling ingratiatingly, "What a coincidence, we were just about to go for dinner too. By the way, I recently opened a new branch nearby, the environment and service are top-notch. How about we eat there?"
Gia maintained her cold expression, not responding immediately, but walked straight to the elevator, seemingly expressing her decision through her actions.
Colin, undeterred, quickly followed, signaling Anna to join them.
The elevator doors closed slowly, shutting out the noise of the outside world, leaving only a slightly awkward atmosphere among the three.
In the confined space, Anna felt the most uncomfortable. Memories of the argument with Gia at the dessert shop flashed through her mind, still making her uneasy.
If it weren't for Colin's presence, she felt she might not be able to endure it.
The elevator's bright lights illuminated their expressions clearly. Anna forced a smile, trying to ease the awkwardness, but it didn't seem to help much.
Gia remained distant, while Colin kept trying to find topics to lighten the mood.
Despite Colin's efforts, the awkward tension lingered among them.
Outside the hotel, the streetlights cast a soft, warm glow. Colin quickly hailed a cab, his actions smooth and natural.
Anna, almost instinctively, hurried to the front passenger seat, opening the door and getting in.
She couldn't bear the thought of sitting with Gia at this moment; the awkwardness and tension were suffocating.
She knew that if she didn't take the front seat, Colin, out of politeness and chivalry, would sit there, leaving her and Gia in the back, which would be unbearable.
Colin noticed Anna's move, a barely perceptible smile crossing his face. He understood her thoughts perfectly.
