Chapter 205 Car Accident
"Anna, what's going on?" Bella frowned as she looked at Anna and Qiana wrestling on the floor.
Anna said, "Bella, stay out of this. I'm really fed up with her. My mom went and told Sterling about your pregnancy and even extorted some money from him."
"What do you mean extorted? That was Sterling's support money for Bella, okay?" Qiana argued defensively.
Anna glared at her. "Then give the money to Bella."
Qiana suddenly fell silent.
Bella stood there, stunned, not knowing what to say.
She immediately ran back to her room and picked up her phone, but seeing that there were still no calls or messages from Sterling, she felt a bit disappointed.
Sterling now knew she was pregnant, but he hadn't sent her a single message.
Seeing that she couldn't get the card back, Anna went to find Bella. When she pushed the door open, she saw Bella sitting on the edge of the bed, lost in thought.
Anna and Qiana's tussle had left her looking a bit disheveled, with her hair and clothes in a mess.
Anna was really at her wit's end. She squatted by Bella's feet and said, "Bella, I'm sorry. Maybe you should move out. If you keep staying here, who knows how Qiana will exploit you next?"
"She's like a bottomless pit that can never be filled, and no matter how hard we try, we can't support her."
Seeing the pain on Anna's face, Bella felt a pang of sadness. "Alright, Anna, I don't blame you. Don't cry. This has nothing to do with you. I just don't know what to do right now."
Anna said, "Now that Sterling knows you're pregnant, why don't you move back to The Windsor Villa? Your belly is getting bigger, and I worry about you living alone. At least at The Windsor Villa, someone can take care of you."
Bella thought Anna made some sense. Maybe moving back to The Windsor Villa was a good idea. But Sterling hadn't come to see her yet.
Anna knew what Bella was thinking and said, "If he doesn't come to see you, then you should go see him."
Bella thought for a moment, 'Yes, if he doesn't come to see me, I can go see him.'
With that thought, Bella immediately set off.
As soon as Bella left Anna's house, someone reported her whereabouts to Sterling.
When Sterling heard that Bella, pregnant, had gone out alone, he couldn't sit still.
"Have Ryan bring the car to the front of the office," Sterling said to his bodyguard as he walked downstairs.
When he got to the front of the office, Sterling noticed that Ryan wasn't driving. He was surprised. "Where's Ryan?"
The driver was another chauffeur, Atticus Rodriguez.
"Mr. Windsor, Ryan had something come up and couldn't make it. He asked me to drive. Are you ready to go?"
Sterling didn't ask any more questions. He thought about calling Bella but decided it would be better to talk in person.
Sterling gave an address and had Atticus drive.
Bella thought it was just a normal meeting. She wanted to see Sterling, and Sterling was on his way to see her.
When Bella left, Anna handed her an umbrella, saying it would rain.
When she got out of the cab at The Windsor Group, she found it was indeed raining. She opened the umbrella and walked into The Windsor Group building.
It was the first time in two months that she had stepped in there. Bella felt a bit anxious about seeing Sterling soon.
She wondered what Sterling was doing now. Would he want to see her, or not?
Bella laughed at herself, thinking she was overthinking it. She wasn't dating him, so why did she feel this nervous excitement?
She raised her hand to her chest, wondering if she had really fallen for Sterling.
Was she seeing Sterling as a crush or someone she liked, which was why her heart was racing?
But thinking about their argument two months ago, her heart grew cold again.
Both Sterling and Bella thought it would be an ordinary meeting, but Bella never saw Sterling at The Windsor Group.
Sable informed Bella that Sterling had left an hour ago.
Feeling a bit down, Bella went downstairs to the bar to get a glass of water.
She looked at the pouring rain outside, thinking she might wait until the rain stopped, hoping Sterling would come back.
Bella wanted to call Sterling but hesitated. Looking at the heavy rain, she wondered where Sterling might be.
Lost in thought, a sudden phone ring brought her back to reality.
Seeing it was Colin calling, Bella quickly answered.
Before she could ask what was going on, Colin spoke first, "Bella, listen to me. Sterling has been in a car accident. You need to come quickly."
Bella couldn't describe how she felt upon hearing the news.
It was as if she couldn't hear anything around her, like being hit with a club, similar to when she was drugged two months ago.
That dizzy feeling returned. Her phone fell to the ground, and she had to hold onto the bar to steady herself.
Bella hurriedly picked up her phone, trying to keep her voice from trembling. "Where is he?"
Colin gave her the hospital address.
Bella, in a daze, didn't know how she got to the hospital. When she got out of the car, Anna was waiting at the entrance.
Seeing Bella, Anna ran up with an umbrella. Bella's face was pale, and her clothes were soaked.
"Bella, don't worry. He'll be fine," Anna said, worried, as she led Bella into the hospital.
Bella made it to the emergency room door, where Colin and Micah were silently leaning against the walls.
Bella suddenly felt weak in the knees. Anna quickly supported her. "Don't worry, Bella."
"How is he?" Anna asked Colin.
"What happened? How did Sterling get into a car accident?" Bella's throat felt dry and tight as she spoke.
Colin and Micah looked at Bella, then at Anna. They tacitly avoided mentioning that the accident might be related to Caleb.
Colin only said, "Sterling was on his way to see you when his car was hit by an oncoming truck on the overpass."
"But Sterling's car is modified, so he was just unconscious when he was brought in. Don't worry, he didn't lose any limbs."
Anna glared at him. "What do you mean he didn't lose any limbs? Isn't being unconscious serious?"
Micah said, "Calm down, everyone. Let's wait and see what the doctor says. Sterling's condition affects the entire Windsor Group's stock price."
"So as soon as the accident happened, the Windsor Group sealed off the news to prevent it from affecting the stock price."
