Chapter 363 Afraid He Dislikes
Colin leaned in and kissed Anna, then said, "I just never had the chance to make it happen before, with everything going on. Now, we can finally be together openly, and I want to make the most of it."
Anna felt a wave of sweetness wash over her as she listened to him. She stopped resisting and closed her eyes, letting him into her world.
Their bodies pressed tightly together, almost as if they were one. His kisses rained down on her face and neck, each touch sending shivers and excitement through her. She held him tightly, as if trying to merge him into her own body, never to be apart.
In that moment, they forgot about the passage of time, the outside world, and all its noise and chaos. In that small space, there was only the presence and breath of the two of them.
Finally, when their breathing became heavy and urgent, he reluctantly let her go.
With a hint of desire and hoarseness in his voice, he asked, "How about staying with me at the hotel tonight? I came all this way; you wouldn't leave me alone here, would you?" His eyes were filled with anticipation, waiting for her response.
Anna didn't hesitate to refuse, "No way. I'll stay with you a bit longer, but can you stop thinking about that kind of stuff? You're such a flirt."
Anna's tone carried a mix of shyness and reproach, but mostly firmness and refusal.
He heard her and a flicker of disappointment crossed his eyes, but he quickly returned to his gentle and doting demeanor. He understood that she wasn't rejecting him, but needed more time to adapt and accept such things.
So, he smiled softly and said, "Alright, I was too impatient. Just stay with me a bit longer."
They cuddled for a while longer before Colin said softly, "I'm going to take a shower, then we can head out."
Colin didn't say anything more about Anna's refusal, nor did he bring it up again. His tone was calm and gentle, without any hint of displeasure or blame.
Watching him walk into the bathroom, Anna's feelings became complicated. She couldn't help but worry that her decision might have disappointed him.
After all, he was a man who never lacked female company, and since they started dating, she had asked him to abstain, which was undoubtedly a challenge for him.
She worried that she couldn't keep up with such demands for long and feared he might resent her for it.
Even though Colin had clearly stated he didn't mind her past, Anna still couldn't let go of her unease. The thought of those unpleasant memories made her feel uncomfortable and anxious.
She feared these past experiences might become obstacles in their relationship, causing him to feel dissatisfied or distant.
When Colin emerged from the shower, refreshed and energized, he smiled at Anna and said softly, "Let's go."
Colin's eyes were always filled with tenderness and affection when he looked at her, but Anna had never noticed.
Colin sensed the change in Anna's mood, even though he didn't know the exact reason.
He had no idea that during his shower, Anna's thoughts had wandered so much, and now she seemed clearly downcast, responding to him simply.
He stopped and looked at her seriously, trying to find clues in her expression and tone, "Hey, what's up?"
He had only taken a shower, what could have happened to Anna? He didn't want any misunderstandings or barriers between them right from the start.
Anna hung her head and walked to the door, her voice low, "Nothing, let's go."
Her tone carried a hint of impatience and distance, making Colin even more certain that something was bothering her.
As someone who prided himself on understanding women, Colin could easily tell she was upset.
Although he didn't know the exact reason, he knew the most important thing now was to cheer her up and resolve her dissatisfaction.
So, he smiled and gently took her hand, speaking softly, "What's wrong, Anna? If I did something to upset you, just tell me. I'll fix it. Don't shut me out, I can't stand it."
Colin's tone carried a mix of teasing and affection, trying to lighten the mood with humor.
At the same time, his eyes were filled with sincerity and apology, as if telling her that no matter what she was unhappy about, he would accept and correct it.
Anna looked at him, her heart suddenly feeling heavy. She sighed softly and said, "It's nothing, I just thought about some past things and felt a bit down."
Colin heard this and gently embraced her, speaking softly, "Let the past stay in the past. We need to cherish the present and the future. Whatever worries or troubles you have, I'll share them with you."
Anna's voice was muffled, carrying a hint of uncertainty and anxiety. She asked quietly, "Do you think I'm boring and uninteresting?"
Her words revealed a sense of self-doubt and concern, clearly caring about Colin's opinion of her.
Colin was puzzled by her question and looked at her with surprise, answering, "No way, I think you're amazing. Why would you ask that?"
His tone carried confusion and bewilderment, clearly not understanding why she would think that.
However, when Anna heard him say "amazing," she instinctively felt it was a polite way of saying she was indeed boring. Her heart sank with disappointment, feeling she wasn't good enough to satisfy him.
What does "amazing" mean? It's just another way of saying "yes." Tears welled up in her eyes. She knew she was being unreasonable, but she couldn't control her emotions, feeling aggrieved and uneasy.
Anna didn't respond to Colin, turning and walking into the elevator, leaving Colin standing there, bewildered. He quickly followed, trying to salvage the awkward situation.
"What's wrong? I came all this way, and you're wasting time being upset with me?" Colin's tone carried a mix of helplessness and affection.
However, Anna didn't smile at his humor. She remained silent, expressing her dissatisfaction and grievance in her own way.
Seeing this, Colin felt a bit flustered. He spoke more earnestly, "What did I do wrong? Tell me, and I'll change. I really care about you and don't want any barriers or misunderstandings between us."
