Chapter 78 Strip Club

Bella's scream freaked everyone out, even the owner of the hand.

The dude in the hoodie tried to grab the book from Bella, but she was quick and stepped back.

Orion quickly rushed in from outside and threw a hard punch at the hoodie guy.

The guy stumbled back a few steps, then quickly stuffed the photo in his pocket and jumped from the second floor, bolting towards the street.

"That photo might be a big clue. Go after him!" Bella yelled.

"Milo, Nico, after him!" Orion shouted, and Milo and Nico Carter jumped from the second floor, chasing the guy.

"Mrs. Windsor, let's move. Follow them." Orion led Bella and Anna downstairs.

They all chased after the guy. Bella, being pregnant, couldn't run fast, which made her anxious. She worried they might lose the clue because of her.

But soon, good news came from Milo.

Orion got a call from Milo.

"Got it. We'll head there with Mrs. Windsor." He hung up and looked at Bella.

"Mrs. Windsor, Milo and Nico saw the guy go into a dance hall. Let's check it out." Orion said, leading Bella to the dance hall.

It was just dusk, but the town's nightlife was already kicking off.

Standing outside the dance hall, Bella and the others could hear the noise inside.

"If it's this loud outside, imagine inside," Anna grimaced, hesitating to go in.

"Mrs. Windsor, why don't you wait here, and I'll go in to find him?" Orion suggested.

Bella bit her lip and shook her head, "I want to go in too. I'm not some delicate flower! I need to see that photo myself!"

Orion didn't argue. He and another bodyguard flanked Bella as they pushed open the door.

To Bella and Anna's surprise, it was a strip club.

A woman was dancing on stage, heavily made up, blowing kisses to the crowd, making the men below go wild.

Bella instantly regretted coming in, as the place reeked of sweat, smoke, and cheap perfume.

"Oh my God, what is that awful smell? And where did that guy go? I see like ten people in hoodies." Anna pinched her nose, scanning the crowd.

"Sorry, Orion, I can't take it anymore. I'll wait outside." Bella couldn't stand it any longer.

The smoke was bad for her unborn baby, so she had to wait outside for her child's sake.

"I'll go with you. God, I don't want to stay in this dump for another second." Anna linked arms with Bella and walked out.

As Anna pushed the door open, she glanced back and suddenly saw a hooded figure jump onto the stage.

"Look! There he is!" Anna screamed, pointing at the figure on stage.

Orion and his crew spotted the guy and rushed towards the stage.

The man freaked out and started flailing his arms, weaving through the strippers. Orion and his team chased after him.

The audience below started booing as the chase interrupted the strip show.

"Hey, who the hell are you? Get off the stage!" Someone angrily waved a fist, looking like they wanted to take on Orion and his crew.

But Orion just shot him a glare, and the guy quickly backed off. Orion's build was nothing to mess with.

"You're ruining my show!" The stripper in the center, now completely naked, yelled angrily, standing next to a metal pole.

The hooded guy hid behind the stripper and, as he jumped off the stage, slapped her butt.

Orion and his team tried to follow, but the stripper suddenly jumped onto the pole, looking like she was about to do a pole dance.

"Take this!" The stripper spread her legs, and urine sprayed from her, hitting Orion and his team in the face.

Orion and his crew immediately smelled the strong stench, making them curse, "Damn it."

Despite their anger, they needed to catch the hooded guy.

Orion and his team quickly jumped off the stage.

Luckily, the hooded guy had run into a dead end, and they pinned him down.

The guy covered his head and started crying loudly, "Don't hit me, I'm sorry, please..."

Orion and his team were stunned, realizing the guy didn't seem all there.

Soon, the town's police arrived and took Bella and her group, along with the guy, to the town's police station.

After confirming Bella and her group's identities and purpose, the police answered their questions.

"The person you're looking for has been missing for a long time. After he disappeared, his house was left empty. Since he had no relatives, we left his house to the town's guardian." The police officer pointed to the hooded guy.

"Guardian? Are you kidding? He can't even guard himself," Anna said, her mouth twitching.

The guy saw Anna pointing at him and gave her a goofy smile, drooling.

The police officer shrugged helplessly. "It's a local legend. Every town has a guardian who trades their intelligence for the town's peace, preventing demons from hell from invading. The stripper was pissed not just because you ruined her show, but also because you were chasing the guardian."

Anna rolled her eyes.

Bella held the photo in her hand, looking sad.

It seemed to be a family photo, but it was old and had been scratched by the guardian's fingers, making the faces unrecognizable.
