Chapter 103 Anna's Thoughts
Colin thought about the plan he received from Anna. What was that mess?
He had zero interest in talking about it, but he couldn't hold back, "You call that a plan? No one can make heads or tails of it."
Anna, trying to keep her cool, took a deep breath and said, "Fine, you're the boss, so you're always right. You think my work sucks? If you want me to change the plan, I'll do it. But I'm on leave today, I'm sick, and I can't work. If you want to chew me out, do it tomorrow, okay? Now, please leave."
Colin got irritated and snapped, "Anna, you shouldn't be treating me like this. You fainted last night. If I hadn't found you, who knows what could've happened."
Anna let out an angry laugh, "Colin, I'm not an idiot, okay? I fainted right at the hospital entrance. Even without you, the doctors and nurses would've found me. Your logic is ridiculous."
Colin wasn't fazed by her words; he just chuckled. "Anna, why can't you keep your temper in check? I'm your boss. Is this how you talk to me?"
Anna shot back, "Fine, thanks, boss, for saving my life. When I get out of the hospital, I'll repay you properly, okay?"
Colin smirked, "Sure, how do you plan to repay me?"
Anna was too furious to speak, but remembering he was her boss, she replied, "What do you want? Who am I to argue? I'm just an employee. As long as you're happy, I'll do anything."
After bickering for a while in the hospital room, Anna still felt uneasy and said, "Maybe I should go check on Bella."
Colin frowned, "Why can't you forget about Bella? Are you two inseparable?"
Anna glared at him, "You don't understand."
Thinking about Bella's condition last night, she was really scared, but Colin made her stay in bed to rest, so she couldn't go see Bella.
Before leaving, Colin even got a nurse to watch over Anna by her bed.
Anna was speechless and furious. Colin left, but he had a nurse stationed at the door. Anna was so mad she wanted to roll her eyes.
Anna didn't expect Colin to come back in the afternoon. She had just finished eating when Colin said, "Do you want to go see Bella now?"
Anna immediately nodded. She had been stuck here all morning, and Bella hadn't answered her calls. Anna didn't know how Bella was doing.
Colin smiled, "I'll go with you."
Actually, Colin had seen Sterling at the door.
Hearing this, Anna immediately got out of bed and went to Bella's room with Colin.
Sterling saw Colin and Anna but didn't say anything, just nodded at them.
Anna rushed to Bella's bedside, "Bella, how are you? Does it still hurt?"
Bella saw Anna in a hospital gown and looked worried too.
"Anna, what happened to you? Did you get sick from the rain last night?" Bella asked, her eyes already welling up.
Anna looked at Bella and suddenly teared up, saying, "I'm fine, Bella. You really scared me last night, you know? The rain was so heavy. I was really scared, but I'm really sorry, my money, when I went home last night, I..."
Anna suddenly choked up and couldn't speak.
Bella couldn't help but cry too.
"It's okay, Anna, I know your struggles, and I'm really grateful. If it weren't for you, I might have died on the roadside last night without anyone knowing, right?" Bella emphasized her words. Sterling, aware of the implication, merely turned away in silence.
Bella and Anna hugged and cried at the bedside. Seeing this, Sterling motioned to Colin to take Anna away.
Watching Anna and Bella sobbing uncontrollably, Colin found the scene deeply unsettling. He stepped forward and pulled Anna, saying, "Anna, is this how you visit Bella? She just had surgery, and you're making her cry like this. I think you should go back."
Reminded by Colin, Anna remembered Bella had just had surgery. She immediately wiped Bella's tears and said, "Sorry, Bella, I forgot. You shouldn't be this sad now. Don't cry, let's not cry, okay?"
Bella nodded and said, "Anna, I'm really happy to have you as my friend."
But Anna felt very guilty. Last night, she didn't even have money to pay for Bella's medical bills. She turned her head in embarrassment.
Anna felt she really didn't deserve Bella's words. She stopped crying and said to Bella, "Bella, you rest well. I've already told the doctor, I'm getting discharged this afternoon and going to work tomorrow."
Bella said, "Okay, you rest well too. Don't overwork yourself."
Anna smiled and then left the room. Sterling signaled Colin to leave too.
Colin raised an eyebrow, didn't need to be told, and immediately followed Anna out. But after going out, Anna was nowhere to be seen. He thought, 'Did Anna leave so quickly?'
Colin immediately searched the hospital room but didn't see Anna return. He searched the hospital corridor and finally found Anna in the stairwell.
Colin heard someone crying. He pushed open the fire door and saw Anna sitting on the stairs, her face buried in her hands, crying very sadly.
Colin felt a strange pang in his heart. He quietly walked up and said lightly, "Is it just because I scolded you a couple of times? Everyone gets scolded by the boss sometimes; it's not worth crying over. Otherwise, you can scold me back."
Colin joked lightly, trying to cheer Anna up.
Seeing Colin, Anna immediately wiped her tears, her eyes red, and said, "Fine, all you do is scold me. What else can you do besides scolding me?"
Colin quickly said, "Okay, I am wrong, alright? I won't scold you anymore. Whatever you say is right, okay?"
