Chapter 258 Liking Someone

Lisa was outgoing and full of life, making friends quickly, especially with the guys.

When she realized Sterling wasn't into her, she shifted her focus to Micah and Colin.

She wasn't about to let a rich guy like Colin slip away, even though she knew there'd be nothing between them once they left this place.

Micah, on the other hand, became another target; she hoped to latch onto this seemingly powerful man.

But Micah couldn't stand her and avoided her like the plague.

Today, they boarded a cruise ship. The deck was bustling with people taking photos and having fun.

Lisa, in a daring swimsuit, splashed around joyfully in the pool, occasionally throwing flirtatious glances at Colin and Micah, who were sitting under a sunshade.

Anna, watching from the side, felt nauseated and couldn't help but complain to Bella, "Bella, what's up with Lisa's eyes? She keeps batting them like that; won't they get damaged?"

Bella covered her mouth, laughing softly. "Anna, you really can't stand her, huh? Is it because she's all over Colin?"

Anna grumbled, "Don't be ridiculous. I just don't like how we suddenly ended up hanging out with her. And look at what she's wearing! She might as well be naked, flaunting her chest like that. All the guys are staring. Colin must have some weird tastes."

Bella, hearing Anna's words, instinctively tightened her own top, feeling a bit self-conscious. "She does seem to be bigger than us."

There was a hint of helplessness and envy in her voice.

Anna, speechless for a moment, then indignantly said, "Can you stop feeling inferior? We may be smaller, but at least we're perky. She's already sagging. And look at her makeup; if it weren't waterproof, it would be a mess. Without makeup, she looks at least thirty!"

Bella couldn't help but laugh at Anna's words but quickly looked around, worried someone might overhear their conversation.

Sterling, nearby, was also amused by Anna's bluntness, his laughter making Bella blush slightly.

"Alright, Anna, stop complaining," Bella gently urged.

Sterling, noticing, got up and walked away to give them some privacy. "You girls chat. I won't eavesdrop."

Anna pouted, muttering, "He should've left earlier. You can't even talk freely with me around him."

Bella smiled helplessly, patting Anna's shoulder. "Come on, don't act like you're jealous."

Anna was taken aback, then quickly retorted, "Jealous? Of who? Colin? Give me a break. I don't have time for that."

Meanwhile, Colin had pulled Sterling and Micah aside for a drink and a chat.

Sterling, looking into the distance, said calmly, "If you like Anna, stop messing around with Lisa. I've got everything covered; you have nothing to worry about."

Colin, serious, replied, "Like her? Do you think I still have a chance? You know how stubborn she is. If the truth comes out..."

Colin wondered if Anna would hate him for keeping Caleb's secret.

Sterling didn't say anything more. He knew everyone had their own choices and decisions. All he could do was respect and understand them.

Colin was looking in Anna's direction, lost in thought, when Lisa suddenly jumped out of the water and hugged him tightly, splashing water all over his face.

Clinging to him, Lisa teased, "What are you staring at? You promised to come to my room last night. Why didn't you? How about tonight? I know once we leave here, we'll have nothing to do with each other. Just let me enjoy this moment, okay?"

Colin remained calm, gently pushing her away. "You're crowding me."

Lisa, undeterred, laughed and brushed the water from her face. "Don't be so serious. Don't you like it? I had two surgeries for this body. Stop pretending. I know how wild you can be."

Colin frowned slightly, then changed the subject, asking seriously, "What do you think it means to like someone?"

Lisa was surprised by the question but quickly recovered, smiling.

"Liking someone means wanting to be with them all the time, being happy when they're happy, and sad when they're sad. But that might be too complicated for you. You only care about your own feelings."

Colin didn't respond, his gaze deep and complex as he looked at Anna. The desire and longing in his eyes were unmistakable.

He wanted her, wanted to keep her by his side, away from anyone else.

Lisa, surprised by Colin's sudden change of topic, answered honestly, "For me, liking someone means I get to spend his money, and no other woman can come near him. Mr. Rivera, you've had so many women. Have you never truly liked any of them?"

Colin looked at Lisa quietly, feeling a sudden wave of weariness. He realized that what Lisa described wasn't real affection but more of a transactional relationship.

What scared Colin more was that most of the women he'd been with were like this, and he had never cared.

He used to think spending money for fun was perfectly normal, but now he was starting to question this lifestyle.

Colin sighed softly. "I guess not."

Looking at Anna in the distance, he was now very sure. From the moment he first saw her, he knew.

That evening, they moved to a campsite, setting up tents for a night of camping and barbecuing, planning to watch the sunrise the next morning.

For them, it was a rare chance to escape the city's noise and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. More importantly, they could wait together and witness the spectacular sunrise.

The night air was cool, brushing against their faces as the temperature dropped.

Bella sat quietly on a portable stool, her eyes fixed on the food on the grill, looking as eager as a child waiting for a treat.

Sterling's deep gaze never left her, filled with affection and complexity, as if reminiscing about the times he hadn't cherished enough.
