Chapter 153 The Thorny Rose
Bella stormed into the Foster Villa, not even pausing for breath. She knew Debra was up to no good, especially when it came to Anna. Debra's beef with Anna was just a way to mess with Bella.
Bella could handle Debra's crap when it was aimed at her, but hurting Anna? No way.
So, when Bella barged into the Foster Villa, she was fuming, ready to take Debra down a peg. She couldn't shake the image of Anna's scared eyes, her frail body, and how worn out she looked.
In her rage, she chucked the baseball bat she was holding onto the coffee table, smashing the fancy glass cups to pieces.
"Debra, get out here!"
Bella's shout brought Mira and Dash running. Mira's eyes widened in surprise when she saw Bella. "Bella, what are you doing here?"
Bella didn't want to deal with Mira and snapped, "I'm here for Debra. Where is she?"
Mira glanced upstairs. "She's sleeping. Why do you need her?"
Ignoring Mira, Bella shoved past her and headed upstairs with the bat.
Dash, looking pissed, yelled from behind, "What the hell are you doing? You can't just barge into my house!"
He tried to stop Bella, but her bodyguards held him back in the living room.
Bella kicked open Debra's bedroom door. She looked at the bat in her hand, realizing she didn't actually want to hit Debra with it. So she tossed it aside, then went to the bathroom to grab a basin of cold water.
Seeing Debra still asleep, she dumped the water all over her.
Debra woke up with a start, soaked and furious. She scrambled out of bed. Seeing the basin in Bella's hand and her cold expression, she screamed frantically, "Bella, what the hell are you doing? Are you nuts?"
Bella dropped the basin and glared at Debra. "Debra, the pain you caused Anna and me, you're gonna feel it tenfold today. You messed with the wrong people. And if we ever cross paths again, you'll regret it big time. I'm not someone you can push around. Try me again, and you'll be sorry."
Bella's words sent a shiver down Debra's spine. She never expected Bella, who seemed so gentle, to have such a cold, fierce look.
Debra thought back to what she'd done. She'd spread Anna's scandal through the press, hurting her badly because she knew Anna was Bella's friend and wanted to get at Bella.
She never thought Bella would have the guts to confront her like this. Debra screamed, "Bella, are you out of your mind? This is my house! I can call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing and assault."
Bella smiled, but her eyes were ice-cold. "Debra, don't think your little games can get to me. You messed with the wrong person by targeting Anna. So, don't be stupid again. If I catch you causing trouble, it won't be cold water next time, it'll be acid. Remember that."
With that, Bella turned and headed downstairs. She knew the shock she'd given Debra would keep her in check for a while.
As Bella descended, she saw Mira and Dash being held back by her bodyguards in the living room. Without a second glance, she walked out of the Foster Villa.
Mira wanted to say something, but Bella didn't even look her way.
Once things calmed down, Dash exploded, "That bitch Bella! She dared to come into our house and cause trouble, even smashing our stuff."
Debra came running downstairs, crying. Seeing her soaked, with messy hair and red eyes, Dash's heart ached.
He cursed, "Was it that bitch Bella?"
Turning to Mira, he glared. "Look at your daughter! She has no manners. She dared to come here and cause trouble."
Mira, fed up with Dash's insults, snapped back, "Yes, she has no manners. And why is that? Don't you know? I should never have left Lucas and Bella to marry you. Do you think you're a good person? Lazy and ambitious. Without me, do you really think you'd have gotten this far?"
Dash, humiliated, slapped her across the face. "Bitch, how dare you talk to me like that? You're all the same."
Mira, utterly disappointed, looked at Dash with a pale face and said, "Dash, if you dare hit me today, be prepared for the consequences. I regret everything. Let's get a divorce."
Dash, equally furious, said, "Bitch, a divorce it is! Do you think you can do anything without me? You're nothing without me."
Mira laughed at him, "Yes, if it weren't for Debra seducing Sterling, do you think you'd still have a company? You're nothing."
Debra had never seen Mira and Dash argue like this. It left her stunned. She thought they were deeply in love, but now they were fighting and slapping each other. She stood there, feeling utterly stunned.
Debra's supposedly warm family was actually like this.
Sterling returned a week later, and it was late at night.
Bella was woken by Sterling's kiss. Still groggy, she looked at Sterling beside her, rubbed her eyes, and said, "Sterling, you're back?"
He kissed her forehead and said, "Go back to sleep. I'm going to take a shower."
But Bella couldn't sleep anymore. She sat up, turned on the bedside lamp, and noticed Sterling's tired face. She reached out to touch his face and said, "Why did you come back so late? Is everything at the company sorted out?"
Sterling ruffled her hair and said, "It's nothing. Don't worry. I just came back to take a shower and change clothes. You go back to sleep."
