Chapter 450 Carelessness

Upon hearing this, Colin felt his scalp tingle. He unconsciously touched his face and laughed awkwardly, "No way, I can't stand putting that stuff on." His eyes flickered, clearly feeling guilty.

After all, Anna was now firmly on his side, which also meant she was on Sterling's side, both hoping that Bella would change her mind and accept Sterling again.

This way, Colin looked like someone who had stolen away someone else's best friend, so of course he felt guilty.

Bella keenly picked up on Colin's odd behavior. She smiled slightly, her gaze turning back to the shimmering pool water. Her voice was gentle yet firm, carrying a hint of warning: "Colin, I'm warning you, if you dare drag Anna into your schemes again, trying to push me and Sterling together, I'll hold a grudge. When that time comes, don't say I didn't warn you."

There was a note of seriousness in her words that made Colin's heart skip a beat. He understood that although Bella had an introverted personality, she wasn't someone who could be easily manipulated. She had her own thoughts and principles, and once someone crossed her line, she would strike back without hesitation.

Colin groaned inwardly. He sighed helplessly, his eyes carrying a plea and explanation: "Bella, I really haven't done that. How would I dare drag Anna into schemes? I just hope things work out well for everyone. But honestly, Sterling isn't as bad as you think. You two grew up together and went through so much. Besides your mother, he's the closest person to you. Think about it—if you can let go of all that, it would mean your feelings for him are just too cold. And if you later find out things aren't what you thought, you'll definitely regret it."

Hearing this, Bella's heart stirred. She furrowed her brow, looking sharply at Colin, trying to catch something unusual in his words. Her voice carried a hint of doubt and urgency: "What do you mean it's not what I think? Then what is it? Can you just say it clearly?"

Colin's expression became serious. He had promised Sterling to keep the secret, so naturally he would keep his mouth shut and not reveal a single word: "Bella, maybe one day you'll discover some things yourself, but I can promise you those things definitely won't come from my mouth. If you really want to know the truth, you can go ask Sterling directly. Whether to tell you or not is his right and his decision. You've thought about leaving him more than once, right? If you've really made up your mind to leave, then does the truth about those things even matter to you anymore?"

Bella remained silent, not answering. Her eyes were deep and complex, as if contemplating something.

Colin looked at her and sighed inwardly. He knew Bella wouldn't really go question Sterling. After all, that plane crash was like an insurmountable chasm lying between them. It seemed there was no suspense left—the truth seemed to have become less important.

"Bella, I know you have many questions and doubts. But some things may not be as simple as you think. Sterling has his own difficulties and considerations. I hope you can give him a chance, and give yourself a chance, to truly understand him and listen to what's in his heart. Don't let yourself miss out on a lifetime of happiness because of momentary impulse and misunderstanding."

Colin's words carried a note of pleading and hope.

However, Bella remained silent. Her eyes revealed an indescribable determination and stubbornness.

Colin knew he couldn't persuade her or change her decision. He could only silently pray that one day, Bella would truly let go of the grudge in her heart and accept Sterling again.

Anna and Bella had been playing in the shallow area, but then Anna turned her head and looked excitedly toward the deep water area.

There was a very attractive entertainment feature there—a wave experience that would create several waves several feet high in succession, bringing an unprecedented thrill. She was eager to try it, impatient to feel that rush and excitement.

But when she turned to look at Bella, she found her looking tense, clearly somewhat afraid of the deep water area.

But Anna wasn't going to give up so easily. She grabbed Bella's hand and dragged her into the deep water without giving her a choice.

"Bella, don't be scared! I'm here with you, let's feel that thrill together!" Anna said excitedly.

The moment Bella was dragged into the deep water, she was terrified. The feeling of not being able to touch the bottom filled her with unprecedented panic. She could only grip Anna's hand tightly, using the buoyancy to keep her body balanced.

"Anna, I'm really a bit scared." Bella's voice carried a tremor.

"Don't be scared, I'm here!" Anna reassured her again, while gripping Bella's hand tightly.

Around them, voices were loud—laughter and screams rose and fell. Sterling's figure had already disappeared somewhere, as if swallowed by this noisy body of water.

Suddenly, a huge boom sounded, and massive waves burst out from the gate, tumbling through the air like a giant dragon. Bella closed her eyes in fright and hugged Anna tightly.

"Hold your breath, watch out for water!" Anna shouted a reminder. She herself also pressed her lips shut, held her breath, and prepared to face the coming impact.

The massive wave was like an invisible giant hand that lifted them high up, then slammed them down hard. Bella felt as if her body was being torn apart, her ears filled with roaring sounds and people's screams. She gripped Anna's hand tightly, afraid that if she wasn't careful, they would be swept apart.

When the wave finally receded, Bella opened her eyes and found herself still hugging Anna tightly.

Bella wiped the water droplets from her face: "I can't do this anymore, I should get back to shore. I'm not a good swimmer, I'm afraid..."

Anna clearly had no intention of letting Bella off the hook. She laughed with a playful air and pushed Bella into Colin's arms: "Hold onto him then, so you won't get washed away. Colin, you better hold on tight—the wave's coming again. After a few more times, Bella won't be scared anymore. These waves are actually pretty fun."

Anna smiled brightly, completely disregarding their current situation.

Bella's cheeks instantly flushed red. Anna really was carefree. Her eyes were full of embarrassment and unease.

Colin also looked awkward. He was wearing tight swim trunks, his muscle lines clearly defined, forming a sharp contrast with Bella's swimsuit that had very little fabric. In such a setting, the two of them hugging each other didn't seem quite appropriate no matter how you looked at it.
