Chapter 377 Fear and Filth
Anna's mood didn't seem to improve despite Colin's apology. She took a fierce bite of the dried fruit in her hand, as if trying to vent all her frustration on the small piece of food, and then said firmly.
"I want to break up with you! I can't take this anymore! I let the thing with Lily slide because it was in the past, but how am I supposed to deal with your mom? If we get married and live together, the days ahead are long. Just thinking about it freaks me out. I can't imagine living like that!"
As Anna's words hung in the air, the room suddenly became eerily quiet, as if even the air had frozen. Colin's expression turned unusually serious. He looked deeply at Anna, pausing for a moment before slowly speaking, "Anna, you can't just say stuff like that."
Anna felt a bit scared under Colin's intense gaze, but she refused to back down easily. She stubbornly lifted her head, her voice trembling slightly as she said, "I'm not just saying it. I really want to break up. Once you sort things out with your mom, we can talk about getting back together."
Hearing this, Colin's anger flared up instantly. He gritted his teeth, glaring at her, and then threw all the snacks she had in her hand to the side.
Anna was stunned by his actions, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looked at him. "Breaking up means I can't even eat? You're so petty! I'll transfer the money for the snacks to you!"
With that, she picked up her phone, ready to transfer the money to Colin. However, Colin snatched her phone away in one swift motion.
Colin found Anna's reaction both infuriating and amusing. He looked down at her with a hint of mockery in his eyes.
He swiftly and elegantly pulled off his tie, casually tossing his jacket onto the nearby sofa.
As he unbuckled his belt, he stared at her with a half-smile and asked, "Do you really think this is just about snacks?"
His tone carried a hint of challenge, as if waiting for Anna's response.
Anna, frightened by his actions and words, stood frozen, her eyes wide as Colin stepped closer, her heart pounding with both fear and anxiety, unsure of how to react.
Seeing her reaction, Colin's lips curled into a playful smile. He had no intention of actually doing anything to her; he just wanted to make her understand that their issues were far more complex than just snacks. They needed more communication and understanding.
Realizing what Colin was about to do, Anna panicked. She didn't even bother to put on her shoes and tried to run towards the door barefoot. But before she could take a few steps, Colin quickly grabbed her, lifting her off the ground effortlessly.
"Why are you running?" Colin asked with a teasing smile, his eyes flashing with an undeniable authority. "I told you, you can't just say stuff like that. There are consequences. I've never been dumped by a woman before, and you won't be the exception. If you agree to be my girlfriend, breaking up is not an option!"
Anna, suspended in the air, flailed her arms and legs, her face full of panic and helplessness. "Let me go! Colin, you're out of your mind! Let me go!"
Her voice was tinged with tears, clearly frightened by the sudden turn of events.
Ignoring her struggles, Colin's eyes darkened with a stormy intensity, like the sky before a thunderstorm, carrying a sense of inevitable punishment. He suddenly threw her onto the soft bed, which seemed to swallow everything.
The bed's bounce gave her a momentary dizziness, and the world seemed to spin around her. Before she could recover from the sudden loss of balance, he pounced on her like a predator, his actions speaking louder than words.
Anna knew that this time, Colin was serious, with no hint of a joke. Instinctively, she raised her hands to protect herself, but he easily pried them apart, pinning them above her head.
His breath brushed against her neck, each kiss carrying a weight that seemed to pour all his dissatisfaction and desire onto her skin, making her shiver uncontrollably.
At first, Anna resisted with all her might, her eyes shining with defiance. Though her hands were restrained, her legs kicked wildly on the bed, trying to break free from the suffocating hold.
But as her strength waned, her movements grew weaker, and she could only let him do as he pleased.
During this time, dark memories began to surface uncontrollably in Anna's mind. The scene of being assaulted by Debra's men haunted her like a nightmare, the fear and despair flooding back.
A cold chill rose from her heart, making her want to curl up and escape from the familiar yet now terrifying Colin.
But Anna didn't give up. She forced herself to open her eyes, trying to focus on Colin's face.
At this moment, she needed his face to remind herself that the person in front of her was him, the Colin who loved her deeply, not the strangers who had hurt her before.
Only by doing this could she barely suppress her panic and let reason take over again.
Colin sensed Anna's tension and inner struggle, feeling a surge of indescribable tenderness.
His actions gradually shifted from initial roughness to unprecedented gentleness, as if carefully tending to a delicate flower on the verge of wilting.
He tried various ways to help her relax, ways he had never used to please any other woman before. He gently caressed her cheek, his fingers softly stroking her smooth skin, trying to convey a sense of peace and reassurance.
His eyes were filled with deep affection and regret, silently apologizing for his earlier rash behavior.
Anna's eyes reddened, tears welling up but she held them back. Her heart was filled with unspeakable fear and humiliation, the memories of being assaulted by Debra's men rooted deeply in her heart, making it hard to let go and face Colin calmly.
