Chapter 119 Fake, It's All Fake

Anna grinned and said, "Bella, that's right, feel free to spend his money."

Bella and Anna chatted a bit more before getting ready to hang up.

Suddenly, Anna remembered something and said, "Oh, by the way, I saw Debra and your awful mom at the hospital today."

Bella shrugged, "So what? It's not weird for them to be at the hospital."

Anna fumed, "I just can't stand that witch Debra. She hurt your kid and still has the nerve to act all high and mighty. It really ticks me off."

Bella smirked, "I'll get back at her for what she did to my child. Let her enjoy her time now. She won't have it easy forever."

Anna, still angry, said, "Debra's a tough one. And she was at the hospital with Mira. They seem to be living it up, no sickness or anything."

Bella caught something in Anna's words. No sickness? Who?

Bella asked, "Are you talking about Mira?"

She remembered Mira telling her she had cancer. Bella then asked, "Anna, are you sure? Mira's not sick?"

Anna replied, "I'm sure. Her report was right on top of my mom's check-up report. I was there to pick up my mom's report and took a peek. She's not sick. It's true, the good die young, and the bad live forever."

Anna kept ranting on the other end, "They really live carefree lives. When will they get what they deserve?"

But Bella was already in tears. Anna called out to Bella a few more times, and Bella suddenly hung up.

Anna was puzzled and a bit worried. She planned to check on Bella after work.

Bella immediately called Mira after hanging up, but Mira didn't answer.

Bella looked at her phone; it was 2 PM. She thought that Mira might have really deceived her. Was the cancer story all a lie?

Bella wanted to confront Mira right away, so she rushed out without telling Sterling.

Sterling had already ordered Bella not to leave the house. So as soon as Bella stepped out, the bodyguards reported her movements to Sterling.

Remembering Bella's tears from the previous night, Sterling said, "Follow Bella. As long as she's not meeting James, it's fine."

The bodyguards immediately followed Bella.

Bella waited at Mira's house for a while and finally saw Mira and Debra.

Seeing them return, Bella rushed up to them. Mira and Debra were startled, as they hadn't seen her in a long time.

At this moment, Bella's face was pale, and her expression was sorrowful. With eyes full of pain and confusion, Bella tearfully asked Mira, "Did you lie to me about having cancer and dying?"

Mira didn't even want to pretend to be nice anymore. Now that the Foster family's crisis was resolved, she felt no burden.

Mira could only say, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to lie to you, but I had no choice."

Although Mira was saying sorry, there wasn't a trace of guilt in her eyes.

Debra looked at Bella with amusement, "Bella, why are you making such a fuss and shouting? Do you believe I won't have you thrown out of my house right now?"

Bella ignored Debra. She just glared at Mira and asked, "How can you be so hypocritical? You even lied to me, used me. Do you think you deserve Dad's love? How can you be so cruel? For that man, you even used your own daughter. You make me sick. I used to hope your illness was fake, but now I hope it's real. I hate you. I wish you would die right now."

Mira's eyes were filled with obvious disgust. She said, "Bella, don't bring up your dad. I wronged you, but you're still my daughter. I didn't want our relationship to be strained. Why did you have to ask me? If you hadn't asked, we could still pretend to be mother and daughter."

Bella was angry, her heart aching terribly. She said, "Mira, you're disgusting. You don't deserve to mention my dad. You never deserved his love. You're selfish and cruel, always thinking only of yourself. Don't ever come to me again. And Mira, I want to sever our mother-daughter relationship legally."

Bella had hoped she would finally experience the motherly love she had always longed for, but now her heart was filled with pain and regret. Why was Mira so cruel and hypocritical?

The more Bella thought about it, the more disgusted she felt, until she was overwhelmed with the urge to retch.

Bella said, "Mira, you make me sick."

Ignoring Debra's livid expression, Bella got into her car. She leaned against the window, her face pale and body trembling.

For the first time, Bella realized how cruel and hypocritical people could be. The pain of being deceived by someone she loved was almost unbearable.

Mira's betrayal hurt far more than anything Sterling had done. Mira was her mother, the one who had once held her and comforted her as a child, the mother she had loved.

Why did Mira suddenly stop loving her?

Bella leaned against the car window, tears streaming down her face, which hadn't been dry since that phone call. Yet, she didn't want Sterling to see her cry.

All the way home, Bella kept wiping away the endless tears. When she returned home, Nia suddenly appeared out of nowhere and saw Bella's red, swollen eyes, clearly from crying.

Nia exclaimed, "Bella, have you been crying?"

Bella didn't look at Nia, only saying softly, "No."

Bella hurried upstairs and lay on her bed, crying uncontrollably.

Sterling was in his study, reading documents. For some reason, Nia went to Sterling's study and said, "Why was Bella crying? I just saw her come back from outside, and her eyes are swollen."

Sterling put down his documents and said, "She was crying?"
