Chapter 393 Five Minutes
Owen sneered and continued, "We know exactly what you and your daughter did to Mrs. Windsor."
Dash's face went white. He hadn't expected his actions to be exposed, and the other party had solid evidence. He tried to defend himself, but his words came out as weak excuses, "I... we didn't do anything to Bella. We just... just wanted to talk to her..."
Owen's gaze swept over Debra with a hint of disdain and coldness. He spoke slowly, his tone carrying undeniable authority, "Scare your daughter? Your daughter isn't that timid. There's nothing she wouldn't dare to do; she's practically lawless. You think this little thing would scare her? What a joke."
Owen paused, his eyes piercing as he looked at Dash, "If you think I'm trespassing, go ahead and call the cops. I'd like to see if they arrest me or you. But before that, I'll give you five minutes to come clean. If I don't hear a satisfactory answer in five minutes, we'll handle it by the rules."
Dash's face grew even paler. He knew his situation was dire, and any excuses or denials would be futile. He looked at Owen, his eyes filled with pleading and despair, but more so with fear of the impending fate.
Facing Owen's stern attitude, Dash knew he had no way out. He had heard of the Windsor family's methods; even if this generation hadn't openly engaged in shady dealings, who could say what happened behind closed doors? After a few moments of internal struggle and weighing his options, his psychological defenses finally crumbled.
Dash's voice trembled as he confessed everything, "Yes! It was me! Bella hit Debra, and I've never hit my daughter since she was little. Who does she think she is? I just smashed her store; I didn't do anything else to her. I've been merciful enough!"
As he spoke, Dash's eyes were filled with resentment and unwillingness. It was as if he was trying to justify his actions, convincing himself that everything he did had a reason and was justified.
However, Owen just looked at him coldly, as if watching a clown perform. He knew that people like Dash would only make excuses for their actions and never truly reflect on their mistakes.
"Merciful?" Owen sneered, "Your so-called mercy is smashing someone's store and threatening their safety? You think that's 'merciful'? Do you think this will solve the problem? Do you think this will let you and your daughter escape legal consequences?"
Dash's face grew even paler at Owen's words. He knew his excuses were useless now and could only silently endure Owen's mockery and accusations.
Owen ignored him and signaled to his men. Several burly men immediately stepped forward and restrained Dash firmly. Owen turned to Debra, his eyes flashing with disdain, "And you, Debra. Do you think hiding behind Dash will absolve you of responsibility? You and Dash will both pay for your actions."
Debra was already pale with fear. She knew she and her father were finished. She tried to defend herself, but her words turned into helpless sobs.
"Owen, I messed up, I messed up, but this has nothing to do with Debra. If you want to arrest someone, arrest me. I was the one who ordered the store to be smashed. Why arrest Debra?"
Owen scoffed, his tone dripping with mockery and disdain, "Why? Because Debra caused Mrs. Windsor to miscarry and lose the ability to have children. For that alone, she deserves to rot! Getting beaten up? That's nothing. If it weren't for Mr. Windsor and Mrs. Windsor's mercy, your daughter would be visiting the cemetery every year. Now, how do you plan to fix this?"
Debra was trembling with fear, clutching Dash's shirt tightly, her voice shaking as she called out, "Daddy."
Dash, though terrified, didn't want to show weakness in front of his daughter and tried to stay strong. He attempted to resolve the issue with money, his voice trembling slightly, "How... how do you want to fix this? I'll pay... I'll pay compensation."
Owen's eyes flashed with anger. He walked up to Dash, grabbed his collar, and lifted him up, "Compensation? Do you think money can solve everything? Do you think money can buy back Mrs. Windsor's health and happiness? Do you think the Windsor family needs your money? You're wrong! This isn't something money can fix!"
Dash trembled at Owen's imposing presence, trying to break free from Owen's grip but to no avail. He could only look at Owen helplessly, awaiting his fate.
Owen released Dash's collar and threw him to the ground. He turned to Debra, his eyes cold and resolute, "You and your father will both pay for your actions. This isn't about money; it's about justice and morality."
Owen's gaze became exceptionally sharp as he looked at Dash, his tone carrying undeniable authority, "Mr. Foster, you have no respect for others. It seems you haven't grasped the situation. Rest assured, Mr. Windsor has instructed that he doesn't want to see any torture here. But you must pay for your actions."
He paused and continued, "Take your precious daughter to the police station and turn yourselves in. If you don't, the consequences will be even more severe. If you think you can get out in three to five years, you won't even have that chance..."
Dash's face turned ashen at Owen's words. He jumped up, his voice filled with fear and despair, "What? Jail? I don't want to go to jail!"
He looked at Debra, his eyes full of pleading and despair. However, Debra was also trembling, knowing she and her father were finished.
Debra screamed, "I don't want to go to jail either! I want to see Sterling!" Her voice was filled with desperation and pleading, as if this was her only lifeline.
However, Owen coldly signaled to the bodyguards. Several bodyguards immediately stepped forward and forced Dash and Debra back onto the couch, their movements rough and forceful, leaving Debra no room to resist.
"Behave!" The bodyguards shouted sternly, their eyes full of warning and threat.
Debra had completely broken down, crying out in fear and despair, "Please let me see Sterling. I don't want to go to jail. I'm so young; my life will be ruined if I go to jail. I'll apologize to Bella, okay? I'll apologize to her! As long as she forgives me, I'll do anything!"
