Chapter 345 Making Desserts for Him

The executive's heart skipped a beat when he heard Sterling's words. He knew Sterling meant business and understood the gravity of the situation. He quickly nodded, "Yes, Mr. Windsor, I'll make sure everyone gets the message and follows through."

With a sycophantic smile, he added, "I won't take up any more of your time. But, why does Mrs. Windsor run a dessert shop in a place like this? It's kinda odd."

Before he could finish, Sterling shot him a sharp look. His gaze was piercing, and his tone carried undeniable authority, "Is that really any of your business? Just do your job."

The executive shrank back, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He forced a smile, trying to ease the tension, "Mr. Windsor, please don't be mad. I was just curious. How about I get you some dessert and a cup of coffee?"

Sterling nodded slightly, though his eyes still held a hint of displeasure, "Go ahead. But where do you think you should get it from?"

The executive's heart tightened, realizing he might have displeased Sterling again. He quickly corrected himself, cautiously asking, "Should I get it from Mrs. Windsor's shop?"

Sterling looked at him like he was an idiot, his tone dripping with sarcasm and a touch of exasperation, "Where else would you get it from?"

The executive suddenly understood and nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I'll go right away." He felt relieved that he hadn't made another mistake.

Sensing the delicate atmosphere, the executive didn't dare linger any longer. He quickly left Sterling's office.

Outside, Rufus was anxiously wondering if he would lose his job. Seeing the executive come out, he hurried over and asked cautiously, "Manager, did Mr. Windsor say he was going to fire me?"

The executive glanced at Rufus, shaking his head with a mix of reproach and helplessness, "Mr. Windsor didn't say that. You really should have checked first. Luckily, Mr. Windsor is pretty forgiving. You won't be fired. Now, I need to go to Mrs. Windsor's shop to get some dessert for him. Don't bother me and get back to work!"

He patted Rufus on the shoulder, signaling him not to worry too much, and then headed towards Bella's dessert shop. After a few steps, he stopped and turned back to Rufus, "I used to hear that Mr. Windsor was pretty easygoing. Now I know that's not true. I was sweating just talking to him!"

Rufus, feeling a wave of relief, nodded quickly, "Yes, Manager, you're right. I'll be more careful in the future. I'll get back to work now."

The executive continued towards Bella's dessert shop, his pace quickening despite his slightly overweight frame and noticeable beer belly. He burst into the shop, panting heavily. The customers glanced at him curiously, but he didn't care. He urgently called out, "Hey, I need a dessert and a cup of coffee, quick!"

The new cashier, Isadora Penrose, a gentle-faced young woman with a three-year-old in preschool, blushed slightly at being called "boss." She explained, "I think you’ve got the wrong person. I'm not the boss. The shop is run by two young ladies who handle the daily stuff. What kind of dessert are you looking for? I can recommend something."

Realizing his mistake, the executive scratched his head and smiled awkwardly, "Oh, sorry about that. Actually, I'm here to see Bella."

Isadora nodded, "Bella was here just a moment ago. She might be in the kitchen. Hang on, I'll get her for you."

She turned and headed to the kitchen. Shortly after, Bella emerged with a warm smile, "What can I do for you?"

The executive, looking anxious, almost seemed ready to beg, "Our boss sent me to get a dessert and a cup of coffee, but he didn't specify which dessert."

Bella found his flustered state amusing. She glanced at his name tag, which clearly displayed the company's logo and his name. Based on the "dessert and coffee" request, she had a good idea who had placed the order.

"Got it," Bella said with a smile, "Just give me a moment, and I'll get it ready for you."

The executive's face lit up with relief, "Thank you so much, Bella."

Knowing Sterling's preferences, Bella quickly prepared one of his favorite desserts. Soon, a beautifully crafted dessert was ready. Bella carefully packed it and handed it to the executive, reminding him, "Don't call me boss, just call me Bella."

The executive, touched by Bella's thoughtfulness, nodded respectfully, "Got it, Bella. Thanks a lot."

He sensed there was more to Bella and Sterling's relationship but knew better than to pry. He simply said, "I'll head back now. Thanks again, Bella."

Bella nodded gently, her warm smile lingering as she watched him leave. Once he crossed the street and disappeared from view, she returned to her work.

Back at the office, Sterling was savoring the dessert the executive had brought back. He took a bite, savoring the flavor, and casually remarked, "Still missing a bit of perfection."

At four in the afternoon, Isadora glanced at the clock. It was time to pick up her child from school. She tidied up, said goodbye to Bella, and hurried out of the shop.
