Chapter 140 Disgusting Woman

Sterling was totally clueless about what was going on in his head. He had no idea James would show up at the meeting today; he just wanted to take Bella out for a chill time.

Who would've thought they'd bump into James at the company? Sterling couldn't resist stirring the pot a bit.

When the food finally arrived, Bella's mood lightened up a bit. Sterling jumped at the chance and said, "Hey, try some of this."

Slowly but surely, Bella's temper started to cool off thanks to Sterling's caring words.

Bella knew Sterling's personality all too well; she couldn't really go against him. Plus, she didn't want to mess up the peaceful life they had worked so hard to build.

After mulling it over, Bella decided to let it slide. It was just some childish nonsense, and she didn't want to hold it against Sterling.

But she didn't expect their cozy moment to be suddenly crashed by Debra and her crew.

Just as Bella and Sterling were about to wrap up their meal, Debra came running over, exclaiming, "Sterling, I didn't know you were eating here too. What a coincidence!"

Debra had Mira and John in tow. Bella's face fell the moment she saw them.

Sterling didn't even glance at Debra.

Debra knew Bella was the one who made the last call, so she turned to Bella and asked, "Bella, why did you say Sterling didn't want to see me last time?"

Bella sneered and ignored Debra, instead looking at Sterling and calmly asking, "Do you want to see her?"

Sterling caught the warning in Bella's eyes. It was clear she'd tear him apart if he dared to say yes.

Sterling chuckled to himself and then told Bella, "Who else would I want to see besides you?"

Bella immediately relaxed, shot a disgusted look at Debra, and said, "Ms. Foster, my husband said he doesn't want to see you. Please take your annoying group and get out of my sight."

Debra's face changed instantly, and she said with a pout, "Mira is still your mother. Do you think it's right to talk like this?"

Debra still tried to play the nice card in front of Sterling, her voice all sweet and understanding. But Bella wasn't having any of it and coldly replied, "Get lost. I don't want to see you."

Then Bella turned to Sterling and said, "Are you done? I want to go home."

With that, Bella stood up and walked out. Sterling kept a cold expression towards Debra the whole time and then followed Bella out.

But Debra called out after Sterling, "Sterling, I have something to tell you."

Debra, Mira, and John walked up to Bella, who looked at them coldly, feeling like they were an annoying swarm she couldn't shake off.

Bella turned to Sterling, who said, "If you have something to say, say it here."

Debra looked troubled and said, "Sterling, I only want to talk to you about this. Can we speak privately?"

Sterling coldly replied, "Say it if you want to. If not, forget it."

Debra grabbed Sterling and said, "No, Sterling, this is really important. Don't you want to hear it?"

After that, Debra shot a quick glance at Bella, who was staring out the window, oblivious to what was happening.

Debra managed to pull Sterling away from Bella, but they were still within her line of sight.

Bella stood there quietly, waiting for Sterling, clueless about what Debra wanted to say to him.

Mira approached Bella and, seeing her cold expression, hesitantly asked, "Bella, are you doing okay?"

Bella almost laughed. "Can you drop the act? I don't want to hear a word from you."

Her eyes were filled with disgust, and that nauseating feeling crept back. She said, "Get lost. You're making me sick."

Bella felt her temper flaring up, but it was all because of Mira.

With a hurt look, Mira said, "Bella, I'm sorry, I actually..."

Bella cut her off, "Mira, can you stop being so gross? Do you think we're in a place to chit-chat?"

Mira, looking all pitiful, said, "Bella, I know you don't want to forgive me. But I had no choice."

Bella interrupted again, "Mira, stop with the fake act. It's disgusting. You abandoned your husband and child. What right do you have to be fake here? You even lied about having cancer. Let me tell you, you're a despicable, disgusting person. You don't deserve to be my mother. The biggest shame in my life is having your genes. Do you think if I had a choice, I would choose to be your daughter? You make me sick. To me, you're just a vile woman who abandoned her child. Is that the so-called good man you chose over your children?"

She continued, "Look, he's standing there, gloating while you're being scolded by me. If it were my father, he would defend you, even if I was the one scolding you. But look at this man you chose. Does he even love you? Has he shown any intention to help you? All he does is gloat. You make me feel so ashamed to be your child. To me, you're nothing but a malicious woman."

Mira's face turned pale as she listened to Bella's harsh words.

She said, "Bella, is that really how you see me?"

Bella replied, "Of course. What do you think you are to me? A warm, loving mother? Do you think you deserve to be called a mother? The only person you love is yourself. You don't even love Debra or the man you chose. You're selfish and repulsive."

Bella felt no emotional connection to Mira anymore because she had no expectations of her.

Without expectations, there was no love. So when she scolded Mira, she just saw her as a disgusting woman who abandoned her child.

Bella never thought she could scold someone like this. She regretted not daring to scold Sterling before.

With tears in her eyes, Mira said, "Bella, I'm your mother. I hope that when you need a safe haven in the future, you can still think of me."

Bella found Mira's words utterly revolting.

She said, "Mira, you've taken shamelessness to a whole new level. Who are you pretending for? Don't act in front of me. Every second you stand in front of me is disgusting."
