Chapter 406 What Kind of Person Am I
Anna watched Colin undress in the dark, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation. She couldn't understand why he was so eager; it had only been two days since they last saw each other. Her thoughts were a jumble, and she felt overwhelmed.
But Colin didn't give her much time to think. He leaned down and kissed her again, his lips fervent and passionate, completely scattering her thoughts. His kiss was intense, as if he wanted to consume her whole.
Colin's actions made it clear to Anna that his longing and desire were far beyond what she had imagined. This time, he wasn't as gentle as he had been during their first encounter. There was a mix of tenderness and a punishing force that left Anna both exhilarated and helpless.
Anna could only leave scratch marks on his strong back, a testament to her emotional release and his success. He had managed to make her voice hoarse from calling out.
Afterwards, Colin slowly turned on the room's light and walked to the window, lighting a cigarette. He took a deep drag and exhaled slowly, the smoke swirling around him as his gaze grew deep and complex. He turned to Anna, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "So, why didn't you want to see me? Am I not your type?"
Anna lay on the bed, looking at Colin's slightly provocative expression, feeling a surge of inexplicable emotions. She knew this wasn't just about not seeing each other for two days. Colin's domineering and possessive nature both excited and pressured her. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
Feeling awkward, Anna avoided Colin's gaze, embarrassed by his nakedness. But she mustered the courage to explain, "No, you misunderstood. I read online that in relationships with someone as outstanding as you, it's important not to be too clingy. You need to keep some distance and mystery to maintain the freshness."
Colin wasn't swayed by her explanation. He laughed, clearly irritated. "Really? That's how you see me? I'd love to hear what kind of person you think I am."
Anna sensed his displeasure and felt guilty for her previous actions. But she couldn't help but complain, "You made me lose control on the bed just now. My mind is still a mess! You always say I don't give you a chance, but you need to understand me too. You can't be too much."
She buried herself under the covers, her voice muffled. "And sometimes, I really think you might be a bit of a player. Are you too fickle with your feelings? You can't go a night without a woman."
Colin's expression darkened. He stubbed out his cigarette and climbed back into bed, pulling the covers off Anna and staring at her intensely.
Colin's tone was serious. "Let me make this clear: I do need a woman every day, but that woman is you. If you keep playing hard to get, I'll find someone else. Is that what you want? Is that how you see me? I'm disappointed. During our long-distance relationship, I didn't even go to bars to make sure you felt secure, and this is what you think of me?"
Anna was intimidated by Colin's intensity. She lowered her head and whispered, "How was I supposed to know? You weren't here, so I couldn't see what you were doing. If you want to find someone else, go ahead. We can just end this."
Colin felt a surge of anger. He realized that their lack of trust and communication was the root of their issues. He decided to lower his pride and talk things out to clear up their misunderstandings.
Taking a deep breath, he said, "Anna, I know we have a lot of problems to solve. But I need you to know that my feelings for you are serious and have never changed. Long-distance was tough, but I never thought of betraying you. I didn't tell you where I went or who I met because I didn't want you to worry. But now I see that my actions made you trust me even less."
Anna wanted to explain, but Colin didn't give her the chance. He flipped her over and held her from behind, making her voice tremble. She clung to the pillow, cursing Colin in her mind.
At that critical moment, her phone rang, breaking the silence. Anna panicked, realizing it was her mom, Qiana, calling. She tried to break free from Colin's grip, but he held her tight.
"My mom's calling!" Anna's voice was filled with fear and helplessness.
Colin didn't slow down. Instead, he taunted, "Answer it. Tell her you're with me. She'll understand what that means." His tone was firm, testing Anna's courage and resolve.
Anna felt Colin's insistence and knew she had truly angered him this time. Her eyes showed panic, then turned to deep pleading. "I was wrong! Please, Colin, give me another chance." Her voice trembled, hands gripping the sheets for a sense of security.
Colin's expression softened slightly, but he didn't completely let go. He made her stay in that position to answer the call, his gaze fixed on her face, waiting for her reaction.
Seeing him finally pause, Anna cautiously pressed the answer button. Her mom's familiar, concerned voice made her breath hitch. "Mom, I'm out with friends. Don't worry." She tried to sound natural, but the tension was evident.
Qiana sensed something was off. "Out? It's late. Who are you with?"
Before Anna could respond, Colin spoke into the phone, "Anna's with me. I'm Colin. She's not coming home tonight."
Colin's sudden declaration left Anna stunned. She pinched his arm hard, whispering angrily, "Are you crazy?" Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, eyes flashing with anger and unease.
