Chapter 341 Mr. Rivera's Takeout
Bella followed closely behind Anna, her eyes tenderly fixed on her every move, a subtle smile playing at the corners of her mouth. She asked softly, "Why are you acting like a kid? What's got you so happy?"
Anna's happiness threshold was indeed low; she always found joy in the little things in life.
At this moment, her face was glowing with satisfaction and joy as she bounced alongside Bella, as if her happiness made the whole world brighter.
"Really, Bella, I'm just happy. You know what? The store made a ton of money today, way more than we ever did working as designers!" Anna's eyes sparkled with excitement.
Bella looked at her, understanding Anna's joy. "Of course I'm happy too. Seeing our 'Small Opportunities' finally taking off, how could I not be?" Bella responded with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah! We can finally ditch that boring nine-to-five grind! Now we can manage our own time, do what we love, and still make a living. It's amazing!"
Anna waved her arms excitedly, as if trying to share her joy with everyone around.
Bella watched her, her own smile growing. She was content with their current life too. Anna was a simple and pure girl, always easily satisfied by happiness.
The walk home wasn't far, just a few steps away, and their chatter and laughter quickly brought them to the building. They rented a cozy apartment in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by lush trees, providing them a warm haven.
The apartment building was simple and elegant, with a one-bedroom layout that perfectly suited their needs.
Though the space was small, every inch was filled with the warmth and comfort of home. They loved renting a one-bedroom place because it allowed them to share their dreams and secrets.
Standing outside, Anna looked up at their little home, her face beaming with satisfaction and happiness. She grabbed Bella's hand and skipped towards the apartment door, as if returning to carefree childhood days.
At the door, their attention was drawn to something hanging on the doorknob—a carefully packed meal in a takeout box, still steaming, hinting at its freshness and appeal.
Curious, Anna took down the box and sniffed it, a familiar and enticing aroma wafting up, making her wrinkle her nose. "It's still hot. Did someone deliver the wrong order this late?"
Her tone carried a hint of confusion but mostly curiosity about this unexpected treat.
Bella examined the box, noticing it lacked any order slip or identifying marks. But as she sniffed the food again, her eyes lit up. "No, it's for us. This smell, don't you recognize it?"
Anna sniffed the box again, her eyes lighting up with recognition. "Yeah, it does smell like Colin's cooking. I'll call him right now."
Inside, Anna quickly closed the door, skillfully untying the bag with one hand while dialing Colin on the phone. As a foodie, the delicious meal in front of her made her forget all other challenges.
The call was answered quickly, Colin's clear and magnetic voice coming through, clearly still awake. Anna, with a piece of juicy fish in her mouth, asked indistinctly, "Colin, did you come over from Harborvale? I found a meal at my door. Did you send it?"
Colin chuckled, used to her foodie nature. "Anna, you're still the same, forgetting everything when you see food. Yeah, I had the meal sent to you. But I didn't come from Harborvale. I opened a branch there and had it prepared and timed for delivery."
Realizing the meal was Colin's thoughtful arrangement, Anna swallowed the fish and laughed. "Colin, you're so considerate! We were just worried about not having time to cook. This meal is a lifesaver!"
After hanging up, Bella watched Anna enjoying her dinner with such satisfaction that she couldn't help but tease her.
"Anna, do you know how you sounded talking to Colin? Like 'You're so thoughtful,' almost like you were flirting. Is there something going on between you two? I feel like he opened that branch just to make it easier for you to get food."
Anna blushed at Bella's words, hurriedly swallowing her food and defending herself. "No way! We're just good friends. He opened the branch to expand his business, not just for me."
Bella didn't fully believe her. She smiled and continued, "Good friends? He sure treats you well, always bringing you food. This time he even had it delivered. If you say he has no interest in you, I don't buy it."
Anna, at a loss for words, could only smile and change the subject. "Stop talking about this. Let's eat before the food gets cold."
Seeing Anna's reaction, Bella didn't press further. She knew Anna's personality; if she didn't want to talk, asking more would be pointless. So, they sat back at the table and continued enjoying Colin's takeout.
The next day, the entire office building buzzed with excitement. Employees were talking non-stop, the atmosphere unusually lively.
The reason was simple: Sterling, the legendary and mysterious big shot, was personally visiting this newly opened small company.
It was the biggest event since the company's founding, making everyone both excited and nervous.
