Chapter 10

<Chapter> Chapter Ten: A Long Drought</Chapter>

"Bella has done all the things a wife should and shouldn't do. You two just need a marriage," Gianna said.

Felix scrutinized Gianna's face, searching for any trace of sadness, but found none. It was evident she no longer cared.

For some reason, Felix felt a pang in his heart.

Felix did not open his eyes, and his voice was complicated. "As long as we are still married, you must take care of me!"

Feeling upset, Gianna decided to avoid arguing with Felix. Instead, she took out her phone, removed Bella from the blacklist, and sent a message.

Meanwhile, in the Redstone family.

Bella was getting out of the shower and ready for bed when Gianna's message popped up.

‘Gianna, that bitch!’

She quickly gets up to change her clothes and goes downstairs, where Lauren and Julian have just returned from the party. They can't help but frown when they see her leaving.

"Bella, where are you going?" Lauren asked.

Bella forced a smile and looked at Lauren. “Mom, Felix is drunk and all by himself. I’m worried about him, so I’m going to check on him.”

Lauren exchanged a glance with Julian, then smiled at Bella, “It's too late for you to drive on your own. I’ll have Yusuf take you there.”

“Thanks, Mom.”

As Bella left, Lauren mused, “It seems Felix still has feelings for Bella, or he wouldn't have told her about this."

Julian nodded, “Tell Bella to handle it well. Fortunately, few people know about Felix and Gianna's marriage, so it won’t affect finding her a suitable match in the future.”

To Julian, whether it was Gianna or Bella marrying Felix, it didn’t matter as long as it benefited his company.

Gianna believed that after divorcing Felix, he would seek out a new husband for her who could benefit the Redstone family.

They were speechless all the way, and when they arrived at the door of the Villa, Felix saw the lights inside.

Other than him and Gianna, hardly anyone came to this villa, especially at this time.

“Did you come back here earlier today?”

Gianna looks calm and indifferent. "You will know when you open the door."

As Felix opened the door, he saw the person who was waiting for him.

“Gianna, what do you mean?!”

Bella had just finished cooking the soup and put it on the table when she heard Felix's voice at the door. She turned and walked quickly toward the door.

Outside the door, Felix looked at Gianna with an angry expression.

He couldn’t believe that Gianna would tell Bella to come to their house.

Does Gianna have any idea what this means?

Gianna appeared indifferent, her expression revealing little emotion. "Didn't you say you were drunk? That's why I called over the one you love to take care of you. You should thank me."

"Say that again!"

Seeing Felix's incredulous face, Gianna was not going to say one more word. She stared at him and said, "I've done as you asked and brought the right person here. I will not stay here to disturb you. You can sign the divorce agreement and send it to me."

Gianna turned and walked after saying that.

Felix was outraged and was about to run after him when someone caught his arm.

"Felix... I've made you some soup. Come inside and have some."

Bella looked at him with cautious concern. Felix frowned, pulled out his hand, and said, "Belle, you should go home."

Bella shook her head, "Felix, I'm not leaving. I'll stay here with you. Gianna texted me saying you were drunk, and I won’t leave you alone."

Felix's face froze, and his voice sank a little. "Did she tell you the Villa code? "

"Well..." Bella nodded.

Seeing the darkening expression on Felix's face, Bella quickly added, "If you don't want me to come to the villa, then I won't come next time. Don’t be mad."

Felix closed his eyes and said quietly, "Belle, I need some time, so stay alone."

"I'll be right here quietly with you and won't bother you." Bella has no intention of leaving.

"I’ll have Fabian take you home."

"Felix..."

"Just do as I said!"

Bella bit her lower lip and reluctantly nodded, "All right, but if you feel unwell, you can call me!"

Felix nodded.

After Bella left, Felix closed the door and walked into the living room. When he saw the divorce agreement on the table, his eyes flashed cold. He quickly walked to the table, tore up the divorce agreement, and threw it into the trash can.

Are you trying to divorce him? It's impossible!

The following day, Gianna had barely settled into her office when Jasper burst in.

"Gianna, aren't you going too far by firing half of my staff?"

Gianna, raised her eyebrows, and said, "Easy, Jasper. I'll speak with the HR department and make sure your departments will be considered first when hiring."

Jasper's face went red with anger. Was this what he meant?!

His phone had almost exploded with calls that morning. Gianna fired all his relatives.

Jasper used to move bricks on construction sites, but he met Gianna at a chance, and Gianna gave him ten percent of My Fashion's stock.

At first, Jasper didn't think much of it. But later, My Fashion grew under Gianna's control, and Jasper earned tens of millions of dividends every year. It was then that Jasper realized how much a ten percent stock in My Fashion could be worth.

Jasper was grateful to Gianna, but the sudden influx of wealth brought about a drastic change in him.

Jasper reveled in his relatives' and countrymen's admiration as he grew richer. He enjoyed the authority to appoint relatives to positions at his discretion and the attention from his family.

But now, Gianna had fired all those relatives. He has lost face in front of them, and he has become resentful of Gianna.

"Gianna, even if we rehire, it'll take time. And who's to say the new hires will adapt instantly to the tasks of those we just let go?! With these layoffs, the departments will surely grind to a halt!"

Gianna put down the documents and looked at him.

For some reason, Jasper was afraid to make eye contact with her, as if she could see right through him.

Gianna smiled. "So, Jasper, what do you suggest we should do?"

Jasper quickly replied, "Gianna, you've just returned and are still catching up on company affairs. I get to know the operation of the company and what the various departments do before you consider downsizing."

After a pause, Gianna nodded thoughtfully. "That makes a good point."

Jasper f was delighted to hear that. Gianna seemed easy to fool. Perhaps he could continue slipping his people into the company.

But the next moment, Gianna's words made Jasper freeze.

"Since you are here, why don't you tell me right now about the work your departments have been doing these past few years, and about those I've laid off, what exactly do they do every day?"
