Chapter 353

Jennifer was shocked; she had expected Constance to give her a hard time, but instead, Constance let her off easily.

She turned to Felix. "Mr. Clinton, Constance has already forgiven me. Can you let the Chambers Group off the hook now?"

Felix glanced at Constance, taken aback by how much she'd changed over the years. If it were Gianna, she definitely wouldn't let Jennifer off easily.

Felix shrugged. "If Constance is cool with it, I got nothing more to say."

Seeing the issue was settled, Grant quickly chimed in, "Jennifer, you should head back. I'll call you if anything comes up."

"Okay." Jennifer didn't dare say more and quickly left the conference room, head down.

Constance saw the resentment in Jennifer's eyes as she lowered her head, but she just smiled and didn't take it to heart.

Liam's eyes darted between Felix and Constance, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

Liam said, "Constance, I took a quick peek at your design sketches. They're amazing. Can you walk us through them?"

Constance nodded. "Sure thing."

For the next half hour, Constance explained the inspiration and concepts behind her sketches. "Before drawing these, I checked out the Collins Group's past styles and target customers. They cater to middle-aged wealthy women who aren't into super avant-garde designs but love details. So, I focused on subtle innovations. Like this piece, it has a circular design at the waist—elegant yet gentle. And this one..."

When she finished, Liam clapped his hands, clearly impressed. "Constance, I love all your designs. I'd like you to be the chief designer for our future projects."

Surprised, Constance shook her head. "Mr. Collins, Jennifer is your current chief designer. I just got here and need time to grow. I don't think I can..."

Liam cut her off. "No, I believe in your talent. Grant, what do you think?"

Under Liam's expectant gaze, Grant had no choice but to nod. "Mr. Collins, you're the client. We'll follow your lead."

Liam grinned. "Great, it's settled then!"

He looked at Constance with admiration, thinking, 'No wonder she caught Felix's eye; she's really talented. But she looks so familiar, like I've seen her somewhere before. I must have, but I just can't place it right now.'

Noticing Liam's gaze, Felix's eyes turned cold. He thought, 'I can't let Liam and Constance meet alone in the future. I don't need another rival before I can win her back.'

After finalizing the collaboration, Grant asked Constance to see Liam and Felix out, while he called Jennifer into his office.

Downstairs, Felix asked Liam to leave first, then turned to Constance. "I helped you today. How do you plan to thank me?"

Constance looked at him, her face expressionless. "Mr. Clinton, even without your help, I had a way to handle this. I didn't ask for your meddling, so I don't owe you anything."

Felix wasn't fazed by her sarcasm. He smiled. "Let's just forget about it this time. We'll have plenty of chances to interact in the future."

Constance frowned, her voice cold. "Mr. Clinton, I don't like being treated as a substitute. I won't have any interactions with you. Pretend you don't know me when you see me."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Watching her walk away, Felix just smiled. He wasn't in a rush to explain things to her now; there'd be plenty of chances later.

Liam teased, "She's already gone, and you're still staring? Didn't know you were such a romantic."

Felix shot him a cold look and headed straight to his car without a word.

Liam laughed and caught up. "Don't be mad. It's rare for you to find someone you like after all these years. If you need a wingman, I'm your guy."

Felix suddenly stopped in his tracks. "No need. Just stay away from her!"

With that, Felix got into his car and drove off.

Watching Felix's car disappear, Liam raised an eyebrow. Felix might not want his help, but he was determined to lend a hand anyway.

As he pondered how to create opportunities for Felix and Constance to meet, it hit him where he'd seen Constance before.

Her face was eerily similar to a woman Felix had been seen with a few times—someone named Bella!

He knew Felix had been indifferent to Bella, so when he saw Constance earlier, he only felt a vague sense of familiarity. Now it all clicked.

But how could Bella and Constance look so alike? And why was Felix cold to Bella but clearly into Constance?

Liam's mind raced. 'Bella likes Felix, but Felix likes Constance. Constance doesn't want anything to do with him. Bella, wanting to be with Felix, gets plastic surgery to look like Constance, so Felix treats Bella as a stand-in for Constance?'

Realizing this, Liam was stunned. He felt like he'd stumbled onto something big.

Meanwhile, back at the office, Constance had barely sat down when Jennifer stormed in, fuming.

Constance frowned. 'Doesn't the Chambers family teach their kids to knock?'

Jennifer shouted, "Constance, I really underestimated you. I thought you genuinely forgave me, but you were just planning to stab me in the back!"

"What did I do?"

Jennifer sneered, "I was always the chief designer for the Collins Group. You just got here and made Liam change his mind. Did you sleep with him to get the position?"

Constance raised an eyebrow, incredulous. She couldn't believe how dumb Jennifer was.

Constance mocked, "Your designs suck, so you think others get ahead by sleeping around? Judging by how you're accusing me, I'm starting to think you've done it yourself. How else would you know so much?"

Jennifer's face twisted in anger. "Say that again!"

Constance smiled. "No matter how many times I say it, it'll be the same. I just don't want to waste my time on you. The deadline for the design submission was today, but you told Clara it was the 29th. If I tell Grant, he'll probably dislike you even more, right?"

Jennifer's eyes widened in shock. "You bitch!"

She stepped forward and raised her hand to slap Constance. Before she could, Constance grabbed her wrist.

Jennifer found herself slapped to the ground, clutching her burning cheek, eyes blazing with fury. "How dare you hit me!"

Constance retorted, "You dared to raise your hand. Why wouldn't I dare to hit you?"

"Do you know I'm the daughter of the Chambers Group's president? Do you believe that if I tell my dad, you'll be out of here immediately?" Jennifer shouted angrily.

Constance looked at her coolly, a hint of mockery in her eyes, but said nothing.

Jennifer thought she was scared and sneered, "Apologize to me right now and slap yourself ten times, then I'll let you off!"

Constance mocked, "Jennifer, I suggest you see a neurologist. If you don't get treated, you'll be stuck with this level of intelligence forever."
