Chapter 287

The nurse shot him an annoyed look, frowned, and snapped, "The surgery's still going on. I'm swamped right now and don't have time for your questions!"

Daniel used to be a big shot in Thundertop. But ever since he moved to Dawnridge, not only did Gianna and Felix ignore him, but now even a lowly nurse had the nerve to treat him like this.

For a second, his face twisted with anger.

Daniel yelled, "If this surgery fails, I want all of you buried with Jonah!"

The nurse couldn't care less about him. Just then, another nurse came over with some blood. She grabbed it and headed straight into the operating room, leaving Daniel fuming.

The butler, seeing Daniel's dark expression, quickly said, "Mr. Getty, the main thing right now is for Mr. Jonah Getty's surgery to go well. Getting mad over this isn't worth it."

Daniel snorted, "After the surgery, I'm getting that nurse fired!"

In the operating room, Gianna had already stopped the bleeding and was stitching up quickly.

Seeing Jonah's vitals stabilize, everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.

After wrapping up, Gianna asked the nurse to take Jonah to the ward, while she took off her gloves and went to wash her hands.

Ten minutes later, she walked out of the operating room and headed to the ward with Amara to check on Jonah.

As soon as they got to the ward door, they saw Jonah's attending physician standing next to Daniel, who was yelling.

Daniel shouted, "You better fire that nurse! Or I'll make sure this hospital shuts down!"

Amara frowned; she'd never seen such an unreasonable family member.

Gianna sneered, "Mr. Getty, which nurse do you want to fire? Why don't you take over the hospital? Then you can fire whoever you want!"

Daniel frowned and turned to look at Gianna and Amara. Meeting Gianna's cold gaze, he felt a sense of familiarity. Just as he was trying to recall where he'd seen her before, she took off her mask.

Seeing it was Gianna, his face immediately turned sour.

Daniel asked, "What are you doing here?"

Gianna smiled slightly, "I was invited by Mr. Getty. Did Mr. Getty forget?"

Daniel sneered, "How could I possibly invite you?"

Suddenly, as if realizing something, his expression froze.

Daniel asked in shock, "Are you Crescent?"

Gianna nodded, "Yep, it's me."

Daniel's face changed, filled with disbelief.

But he quickly realized that if Gianna wasn't Crescent, she wouldn't have asked him to spare the Clinton Group.

Thinking of this, a cold glint flashed in his eyes, "Gianna, did you enjoy deceiving me?"

Gianna raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Getty, how did I deceive you? You never asked for my real identity, did you?"

Daniel said, "That's because you refused to meet me! If I had known you were Crescent, I would never have let you operate on Jonah!"

Gianna replied, "Too bad, the surgery's already done. Even if you regret it now, it's too late."

Daniel fumed, "Just you wait! I won't let this slide!"

If Gianna dared to deceive him, she must be ready to pay the price!

Gianna's eyes instantly turned icy, "Mr. Getty, are you planning to harm your benefactor?"

Daniel shot back, "What benefactor? Saving Jonah is what you should do; you owe Jonah!"

Seeing the anger in his eyes, Gianna frowned, "What do you mean? What do you mean I owe him?"

Suddenly, she remembered the fire incident. Could it be that Jonah really did save her? But if that were true, why did everyone keep it from her?

Daniel was about to say something when a cold voice cut through the crowd.

Felix said icily, "Mr. Getty, instead of wasting time here with your cryptic comments, maybe you should go handle your company's mess!"

Daniel glared at Felix. Now that the surgery was done, even if he reneged on his promise to the Clinton Group, Gianna couldn't do anything about it!

Daniel sneered, "Mr. Clinton, you don't need to worry about my company. You should worry about the Clinton Group; don't let it go belly up one day!"

Felix raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Getty, you seem pretty sure of yourself."

Daniel was about to retort when his phone rang.

Seeing it was Nicole, he frowned and answered.

Whatever Nicole said made Daniel's face turn dark. He shot a furious look at Felix.

After hanging up, Daniel glared at Felix, "Was it you?"

Felix asked, "Do you think I have that kind of power?"

Daniel fumed, "This better have nothing to do with the Clinton Group, or you'll pay for it!"

He then turned to Leon, "Book the earliest flight back to Thundertop!"

Soon, the butler wheeled Daniel away, and the tense atmosphere in the corridor started to ease.

Amara turned to Gianna, "Gianna, the surgery's done. I'm heading back to Desertopia tomorrow morning. Got a ton of work waiting in the lab."

Gianna, lost in thought, took a moment to respond, "Amara, why the rush? I was planning to show you around for a few days."

Amara shook her head, "Maybe next time, I'm really swamped right now."

Seeing she was set on leaving, Gianna nodded, "Alright, I'll have someone take you to the hotel first. Tonight, I'll ask Garrett to see you off."

Amara nodded, "Okay."

After Amara left, Gianna couldn't shake off what Daniel had said.

Maybe she should dig into the fire incident.

Who really saved her? It shouldn't be too hard to find out!

Felix asked, "Gianna, Gianna, what are you thinking about?"

Hearing Felix's voice, Gianna snapped back to reality and saw Felix looking at her with concern.

Felix was puzzled, "Gianna, what's up? I called you a few times, and you didn't respond."

Gianna wanted to ask him if it was really that firefighter who saved her, but then she thought Felix might also know the truth and had been part of the cover-up.

She shook her head, "Nothing, just a bit tired."

Felix replied, "Then let me take you home to rest."

Gianna nodded, "Okay."

After telling Blake to keep an eye on Jonah and contact her if anything happened, Gianna left with Felix.

Back at Tranquil Haven Estate, Gianna went straight to her bedroom and pulled out her phone to make a call.

Gianna demanded, "Find out who saved me from the fire on August 12th!"

After hanging up, Gianna still felt uneasy. If Felix had really deceived her, what should she do?

Meanwhile, in the study, Felix was on the phone with James.

James said, "Mr. Clinton, the champagne roses will arrive tomorrow. Where do you plan to propose to Miss Redstone?"
